It’s part of a tradition. It’s a way for FLOTUS to connect with the American people. Obviously the current one doesn’t give a fuck. “Although previous presidential administrations displayed Christmas trees indoors, it was First Lady Mamie Eisenhower who consistently placed a tree in the Blue Room and First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy who established the tradition of selecting a decorative theme for the Blue Room Christmas tree in 1961. The Blue Room tree tradition was interrupted twice. In 1962, the tree was moved to the Entrance Hall because of renovation work. In 1969, First Lady Patricia Nixon chose to display the tree in the Entrance Hall to make it more visible.” Yes.... from the 1960's...... who cares now? A FLOTUS has many more priorities, giving a voice to FLOTUS for their passion. Leave it to the decorators. Something really minor... only just thinking out loud. Why would FLOTUS be in charge of decorating, seems stereotypical and needs to leave.

Who cares? Is this an "official" event for FLOTUS, why not leave it up to the decorators? Why is FLOTUS in charge? Seems like an outdated event (like picking china patterns, etc.) , especially if FLOTUS has no "hip" decorating passion. Just have decorators decorate and leave the decorations up to those that know how to do it. There's much more important things to do, because a new FLOTUS position can and will have opinions of the direction of this country. IMO.

Trump is going to "boast" that he's running in 2024, so he won't just disappear and the GOP will still be broken and under his rule.

I just did this in Power point. Measuring rooms and furniture and then scaling it to fit on one piece of paper. It was highly accurate.

Where did you see that? Not doubting you, just curious. I only saw that he was exposed. I misread the NY Times. I read the "and" as he was positive, too. Kind of confusing. Here's what I read, copied below:
The New York Times 8h · Andrew Giuliani, a White House official and the son of President Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy, tested positive for the coronavirus, Andrew said on Twitter on Friday. He's the latest in a string of administration officials to contract the virus.

Rudy G. tested positive, not true. I misread the NY time header, my bad.

Have her set up a go fund me account and pass the transition order and people will donate until she finds a new job... boo hoo for Emily, I'm so torn on what to do. CNN article was bogus, gathering empathy. Why is it up to her anyway? Another bogus flaw in the US institution that has been brought out by dump because normal people concede.

You're right! This is the original. So I think the original cartoon is cute (and an obvious message). The photoshopped stuff, IDK. I like my symbolism to be a little more straightforward. ETA - the one I linked uses suppose instead of supposed, so at least the nazi who photoshopped the cartoon corrected the grammar! I've found one that appears to be even older from January 2016. Looks like this might be the original form:
Isn't the correct grammar, supposed to... not suppose to? or just I suppose? Just wondering?

I know why you're asking pjaye . When I saw the uproar on FB about the person who posted it, I was trying to work out what on earth the cartoon meant. I *think* it means that both of the critters were MAGA, and now the one on the right has evolved into a fully fledged Nazi. But I still don't get what the wording "We're supposed to" means. Couldn't it be the other way around? Nazi to MAGA.... deplorable? WTF?

It could be the level of the test at the time, detecting viral particles. I'd surmise that the level of the kids' viral particles was low by the PCR test, which could give a negative result, whereas the adults had a higher level of virus which gave a positive test. Think of it as a bell-shaped curve. Kids were on the low end of curve and parents on high-end. The kids were able to produce antibodies at a lower viral load to fight off the virus, whereas, parents may not. Will be interesting to see what those specific antibodies are in the children. But, the phrase "We did find that they had an immune response similar to their parents suggesting they’re getting protection from the virus" could just mean a total analysis of IgG antibodies and not specific to Covid neutralizing antibodies. It's somewhat unclear of what the actual tests were. I think it's an extrapolation to say specific antibodies in children's mouths. I would need more data to interpret the findings. TFS....

I am politely asking what kind of science you teach, maybe human phsiology and not molecular biology? MRNA IS RNA, With a ribose whereas, the human genome is DNA, with a deoxyribose. MRNA is made from DNA and cannot revert to DNA, nor incorporate into the human genome. Saying that it can, is not true. Blindly believing the government is another and distinct topic from how the science of how this vaccine works. Here's a great review in Nature of how mRNA vaccines work. Check it out. www.nature.com/articles/nrd.2017.243I'm a middle school science teacher with a degree in integrated sciences. From what I have read, the mRNA goes into the cell and causes it to produce an antigen which the body then wages an anti-body response to which will hopefully lead to immunity. Is that accurate? Not exactly. Somewhat but more complex. The mRNA is modified and messes with the virus' ability to replicate or produce and/or creates immune responses. However, the mRNA will absolutely not integrate into the human genome. The review is helpful.

With all due respects maybe your science knowledge isn't as good as you think it is. I suggest you do far more research into how mRNA works and stop listening to people like Emerald Robinson who is the White House correspondent for Newsmax who is spreading misinformation over twitter. Another thing - your Government is not the government of every other country and this vaccine isn't developed by YOUR government. It's a joint operation by Pfizer and BioNTech which is a German company who have been working on mRNA type vaccines for a few years now, long before Covis-19 existed. Altered DNA' claims
A White House correspondent for a pro-Trump website, Newsmax, told her 264,000 followers on Twitter to "beware" the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. Emerald Robinson claimed in the Tweet: "It tampers with your DNA."
The fear that a vaccine will somehow change your DNA is another one we've seen aired regularly on Facebook posts.
The BBC asked three independent scientists about this. They said that the coronavirus vaccine would not alter human DNA.LINKWith all due respect to you, I have no clue who that person is, nor do I watch the news. I am not a fan of Trump (or anyone in any sort of political office) so I have no clue what that website is or anything else regarding the "beware" thing. I have a degree in science and teach science so I think I might have a clue about this stuff. Just a little. No way am I an expert but I know enough to question it and not blindly follow. The mRNA will not incorporate into your DNA.mRNA is transcried in vitro using a DNA sequence, engineered to specific viral sequences, such as the spike protein. MRNA can not go back to DNA, much less insert into the human genome.

I believe I read that once thawed, can be stored for five days at 4 degrees C. Probably not stable with freeze/thaw cycle.

I believe there will have to be more efficacy and peer reviewed studies performed for safety. I think it was premature for Pfizer to announce, but may give hope to the public to keep strong.

samantha25 -- can you speak to the longer term effects of "messing with" mRNA? Or direct me to any articles or studies about the long term effects of injecting humans with altering mRNA? I might not be expressing myself properly -- but have vaccines using mRNA been used previously, for how long and what are the long term effects? Using mRNA for vaccines is a novel technology. Here is a review of how it works and lists ongoing studies www.nature.com/articles/nrd.2017.243I have worked with RNA and there are RNAses that are present, on your hands, etc. and you have to treat utensils with DEPC to make sure these enzymes do not degrade RNA, whereas antibodies and protein are much more resistant. HTH.

YEs, mRNA is difficult for storage for stability vs. other vaccines which are proteins or antibodies. I've worked with and studied both. The mRNA ones will be challenging.

We have a couple of G29 wheels. We use them with the computer and picked it because it has more buttons than the G920. Other than that, they are the same wheel, except the G29 is for PS4 and the G920 is for XBox. are they "good enough?" Will he be disappointed it isn't the g923? Just asked ds about the difference between the 2 and he said that there's a difference with the force feedback but for the money would not be that big of difference. The chair would be key for a better experience. My ds is the kid who went to the Ferrari dealer to check them out and ferrari told him to comeback at 16 yo to become a porter because he knows his cars! Lol

DS, 11 yo got the G920 2 years ago to use with xbox with Forza. This last week he talked me into hooking it up to my bad ass Dell computer to play Asseto Corsa and it works great. I even race and its fun. Does he need a racing chair? Sometimes setup sucks on some games, but do a Google search to troubleshoot.

It would be better for this country and the world if more than one company comes up with a safe COVID vaccine that works. So here’s hoping for successful trial results for these guys. There are many other companies developing vaccines, using mRNA (Moderna and Pfizer) and the convential vaccines (J and J, GSK) to name a few. Hope all are successful.
