I thought our stores would be filled with stuff people purged but they have been pretty bare and the collection areas are closed. Sellers at the outside flea markets said the auction houses have been busy.

The thrill of the hunt for a bargain is real, hah! I do miss it too, but I can deal. Not like I don't have things to spend art money on - picked up a variety of acrylic paints over the last couple months and I'm eyeing artist's acrylic inks to go with them. Ooh, sounds fun. Wish I could paint but it always ends up looking like stick figures in a mud puddle. I do enjoy my gelli plate because it’s supposed to be messy.

pas2 I am a middle age woman screaming at the maskless, lol. Taking away their rights (HUGE EYE ROLL). You don't have any rights if your dead! I am not trying to make this into a flame war. I am so frustrated and scared. I love flea markets. So excited for you and your good score. Embri - I don't blame you. I miss my thrift stores to. I do go to one that they are being massive germaphobes and I am appreciative of that. I haven't been lately not because of Covid but just due to my DH's work schedule and the stores closing earlier. I have been hitting a lot of the online thrift stores. That's been fun. I don't mind paying a bit more. I haven't bought a lot of art supplies. I did buy a couple of new Sizzix Steel Rule dies the other day. I have only been out a few times. I go more for my mental health than anything. DH and daughter work from home and in a small house thats means I can’t do my normal routine nor access my scrapping supplies. I need to get out and see something other than my house and yard. If our states cases start going up again I will stay home.

Headed out to the flea markets again this weekend now that EVERYONE must wear a mask in our area. Take that you middle aged men who think they don’t need to wear them outside! Take that the lady selling home made masks but NOT wearing one herself, breathing her germs all over her inventory!
I've never been to a flea market. It sounds like a lot of fun!
It’s so much fun hunting for vintage items and finding a bargin.

I made one final stop to my store that's closing. They were down to about 10 paper pads and the rest was mostly stamps. I bought MH Sunny Days cardstock stickers and a paper pad and a MH sticker book. My next trip to TM will involve a 45 minute drive. My closest TM is now over 1 1/2 hr trip. 🙁

Hope I do as well as my last trip 2 weeks ago. Heard from a vendor that the auctions have been packed so the vendors should have lots to sell. Haven’t seen any rubber stamps or scrapbooking supplies worth buying but I hit pay dirt on vintage paper items. Bought books, ledgers, photos, postcards, artist sketches, old magazines, postage stamps and more for dirt cheap.

I did venture out to opening day at the local flea market. Perfect weather, good turnout but still easy to distance. Fantastic deals in vintage paper items. Passed on the scrapbooking supplies because they were from the ‘90s and I have enough of that in my own stash. Only disappointment was the large amount of people ignoring the masks required signs. The majority were middle aged men and 2/3 of the sellers! I used lots of sanitizer. This week I will try the Goodwill stores which just reopened.

With everyone staying home for 3 months I forsee a ton of scrapping supplies at Goodwill and thrift stores. FB marketplace has been flooded with lots for sale but all much older items. One listing was selling XL, reg and sidekick diecutters.
I did venture out to an antique shop because I knew being a scorching weekday no one would be there. Lots of big sales. Scored a stack of Popular Science/ Popular Mechanics 1945, photos, and postcards for my vintage collage projects. I also won several lots at a silent auction I bid on back in March. Our Goodwill stores haven’t reopened yet but I could see through the windows that they have boxes to unpack piled to the ceiling. This weekend the local outdoor flea market opens too. I’m as excited as a kid on Christmas!

Just wondering how TM closing stores would impact the resellers that typically come in and wipe out the stores crafting inventory. Karma.

Now both stores near me will be closed. I will need to drive 2 hours to reach a store that has a really poor craft section. Glad I have been weaning myself off of that store over the pst year. I plan to go as soon as our stay at home order has been lifted to stock up on my favorite items.

I ordered from them a lot, never had trouble with shipping quickly until they had to move warehouses. I checked back a few times since they got a new owner and I am not seeing the deals they used to have nor the selection. I won’t be ordering from them anymore unless things change.

Cherished Treasures posted this video youtu.be/W7uS8mg0LBgEven though I have cut way back on my TM purchases I would really miss them if they closed. I will have to stock up on the things I always buy there, especially the bulk packs of cardstock, just in case. I use the thin white packs for so many things.

Scrapping the same which is zilch but then I haven’t scrapped in a while.
Card making zilch, cant access my scrapping area due to hubby working from home these past 4 weeks.
Organizing is way up, doing lots of sorting, scanning and filing away.
Collaging in my glue books, increased. As I find things that inspire me while sorting I can’t resist stopping to do a spread.
Actually I like having a reason to not do noisy household chores M-F. I could get used to this if only DH and DD weren’t under foot at the same time.

I have been on a big sorting and scanning project. In my labors I found 2 stamp sets and 3 packs of stickers I bought from AX months ago buried in a basket. It was like getting happy mail cuz I totally forgot I had them.
Yesterday I took a break from that project to do some sewing. I made a summer bathrobe that I bought material for LAST summer. Now I remember why I hate sewing so much. I really need to make my bedroom curtains too. I have been sitting on that material for two years.

I collaged a few memorydex cards but mostly I have been sorting and organizing my stash of ephemera. With two people home hogging the computers and constantly on conference calls I can’t access my scrapbooking supplies and need quiet jobs to do.

I lost 5 pounds but then I spent last week sick with a very bad case of stomach flu. It's been 7 days and I am finally eating normally. I was very dehydrated.

My space is actually in 3 separate areas.
#1 is a corner in the family room right next to DH computers and across from the TV. Very convenient unless we both want to use that area at the same time. This houses all my scrapbooking and cutting supplies. I am a huge believer in going vertical with storage, as tall as I can go. Everything is no more than 2 steps away.
#2 is my stamping/mixed media area otherwise known as the utility room, next to the family room. I have a tsll Costco bakers rack for material, stamps, paint, etc. My work surface is my chest freezer, the slop sink is 3 steps away. Like that I don’t have to worry about making a mess with embossing powder and such. Dislike that I have to run back and forth when doing some projects.
#3 is my DD bedroom since she moved out. There isn’t much spare room but I keep all my paper items for my collages here on stacking cubes and a desk already in the room. Like that I don’t have to go downstairs to the family room to work. I am solar powered and love being able to pull out a few supplies and see the daylight while I collage in front of the TV. Hate that I either have to lug some supplies up and downstairs or buy doubles of everything.
Overall I like my space although I might need more stamp storage. I love, love, love my heavy stacking cubes that I bought 27 years ago for my kids bedrooms. They are strong and hold a ton. I also love my binder storage for my dies. They are very easy to access but take up very little room. If I had the wall space and a private room for all my crafting I would love to try storing my dies on the magnet panels mounted on a wall.

My space is compact and I can reach everything easily while I'm working. I've overbought recently and my paper/cardstock storage is bulging at the seams but hopefully I can scrap my way out of that problem I do need to sort my stamps and figure out where to store my new mixed media supplies - they don't need to be close at hand because I suspect I'll use them mainly for challenges. I have mixed feelings about being in an open space (I have a section of the open-plan family room) - it's nice to be in the middle of everything but it might be nice to shut the door occasionally I thought I had a lot of space until I branched out to mixed media, stamping and vintage collage.

I buy because no matter how much paper I have, I never seem to have the paper I want or need in my stash for the given project at that moment. I always need more options.

Totally. It’s one reason that I have such a large stash. But before you feel bad about it, consider that the time may come when you may be quarantined or have to shelter in place. Think of all those lovely supplies that you can craft with to make confinement so much more pleasant...... I don’t just shop to fill my pantry, I’m a doomsday prepper!

Latest thrifting haul was vintage again, a deck of cards, lace, postcards, childrens 1930 encyclopedias and school books, and a green and gold plate to add to my St. Pat’s display. I haven’t seen anything new craft related lately, just the same old rubber stamps. I see more scrappy offerings on FB marketplace in my area. The bright side is that yard sales and flea markets will start up soon.

I have been having so much fun with my vintage collaging and gluebook that I haven’t gotten back into scrapping yet. I have made a few cards and started reorganizing and purging my scrap area too.

At a local fire company garage sale I came across several decks of old playing cards including Aircraft Recognition deck and an old word game complete in the case called Royalty. Also bought a small album filled with victorian calling cards. They aren’t in perfect shape but will work for my vintage collages.

Picked up a large bag of what I thought was greeting cards. It turned out to be encouragement and get well cards, USED cards. It was sad reading about their illness and sweet to see how many people cared about them. There were also christmas photos. All this just tied in a baggie and dumped at Goodwill.

Saw someone has planners for sale for $12 each on marketplace that just went on clearance at HL! Surely they realize that people that shop FB Marketplace are looking for a deal and know the local stores pricing. Yet they still ask for ridiculous prices for items.
As for my latest haul, I bought more lace at GW only because some of it was old. I really don’t need more lace. Also a plastic cassette tape storage box with lid that I can add dividers to and use for ephemera or PL storage on my desk.

Was in on Monday and no markdowns, went in today and clearance was tagged. Got the ink I wanted.
Fyi—Met a guy that was buying iron on vinyl for his business. He said that he found the HL brand of iron on vinyl was just as good as the cricut if anyone was wondering.

I lucked out last year and got a ton of paint, gelli plates and stamps. This year I wanted some archival minis and TH stuff but they still haven’t put them on sale.

I’ve watched the latest HL clearance hauls on youtube but find my store doesn’t have any of the same items marked down. Do you find your store marks clearance later than other stores? If so about how much later?

Many people use Rolodex and Memorydex cards for collage and gelli printing or as a mini scrapbook. It is fun to work in the tiny format and it can be easily changed around. The punch is great for making the slots in your own cards especially if you don’t have a Big Shot and die. I was getting tired of cutting them by hand so I was thrilled to get the notification. Do you use the memorydex or rolodex for scrapbooking? I have one (and the punch and 2 of the dies for making the cards) and have never used it. I searched on YouTube for videos on it but only found a few (I think Paige Evans had at least one). I feel like I found out about it too late or that it was just never all that popular. I would love to see additional examples of how others have used this format. Check out Dearjuliejulie for memorydex videos, she shows quite a variety of types of cards.
