We have 3 groupings of family photos on the walls - above couch, 10 framed photos, HIGH ceiling so could handle more - above piano, 3 framed photos, all from our wedding (each side of the family and one of just the two of us) - along stairway, 11 frames, 2 of which are collages of 3 photos We also have family photos on the two bookcases in the great room (7 frames and 3 frames). Laundry room has a "laundry line" around the top of the room with photos of my kids and nephews as babies/toddlers being dirty, in the bath and playing in laundry. 1 framed photo on the counter. Dining room has 3 framed photos that I took in the creek by our house. Office/scraproom has many photos on my shelves but it is a general cluttered mess. Our bedroom has many photos of DH and I over the years. 4 floating shelves and 1 main gallery wall. Sounds like a lot when I type it out but I don't think it is too much. One thing I did was matting almost all the photos and have some larger >8*10 photos printed. I need to go through and replace some of the photos. At one point DD was about 5 and I realized we had no photos of her on the wall despite taking family photos every year! Sounds lovely! I have only a pair of my kids senior portraits in the living room, some tiny vintage photos of grandparents and my parents as children and some pics on a magnetic board in my scrap space. I am uncomfortable hanging family photos on the walls for some reason, have no idea why.

When I went to TM last week, they had a bunch of Crafter's Companion dies that cut intricate designs for card fronts. They were only $4.99, which is a steal, so I picked up two. I opened the first one and tested it out and I cannot get it to cut! For the record, I've been die cutting for years, so it's definitely not a newbie mistake. (Details: I have the WRMK Evolution Advanced die cutting machine, which I use with the Sizzix magnetic platform, a metal shim and Sizzix cutting plates.) I tried all sorts of different things: using paper shims, using new cutting pads, cutting thinner paper (was originally using Neenah 80 lb, tried it with lighter weight solid printed scrapbook paper), running the die through up to six times and it still won't cut, only leaves an impression on the paper (except around the outer edges on the thinner paper, with max shims and 6 passes through the machine). Just to make sure I wasn't making a stupid mistake (like forgetting a plate), I tried using other dies with the same configuration and they cut just fine. If I try to add any more shims, the sandwich is too thick and won't go through the machine, so the problem isn't a lack of pressure. I'm thinking the die is defective, but just wanted to check if anyone else has had this issue! Here's some pictures.I’ve had the same problem with Crafters Companion dies from TM. I won’t buy them anymore.

I follow theFB group vintage gluebooks and pages hosted by Margarete Miller. Robyn McClendan does a series Gellidex, using her gel plate. I found a lot of videos when I searched for Memory Dex cards. I use Memorydex because they a just a bit larger.

I just need to stay out of tuesday morning. Really and truly. Stay out. I took a different way home on Friday in order to avoid the temptation to go in. Even though my carpool partner was like, "This way is 10 min longer." I told him there was a road closure! I lamented the closing of my local TM but now I’m grateful. For me TM had become an addiction. The same goes for AX.

I have a lot of washi, so I picked up one of these cases from Michaels a while ago during their Lowest Prices of the Season sale. It's fantastic. I still have room to grow, but it keeps everything organized and accessible. I'm really happy with it. I use a similar case for my sewing thread. I have an adapter that pops onto each spool that you attach the matching bobbin to it. I never thought of using one for washi.

The Thermoweb Sticky dots are much stickier than Dry Bond. I have a couple of pad of DryBond in my stash from years ago and I am hoarding it because I haven't been able to find it recently. I tried the Sticky Dots and I made a huge mess with detailed die cuts. The adhesive is super sticky like that of Xyron so I had a lot of goopy edges. And it is NOT repositionable. Just my .02 Are yours still good after all this time? I had to toss mine because my Dry Bond dried up! It would no longer stick to the paper, but it was pretty old.

After being stalled on my ephemera reorganization project, I finally found a solution. I have always kept my ephemera and stickers for scrapbooking in PSB (I have 3). I have a smaller collection of vintage ephemera for my collages/gluebooks stored in clear pockets in a bin. I wanted a desktop storage that I could see everything and actually use it. I didn’t want to use clear coin and baseball card pocket pages in a binder because they are so floppy and hard to access. I have found that the pages used for storing postage stamps work much better as they are more rigid. I bought some used ones that are working out just fine. The only down side is they are black so for vellum pieces I have to add a white backer paper to each pocket. It’s that or make my own pocket pages in white (which I have been trying to avoid). I have sorted and stored 3/4 of my stash in just a few hours. Now it all fits in a single notebook binder and I can see and remove all those tiny pieces easily.

Many people use Rolodex and Memorydex cards for collage and gelli printing or as a mini scrapbook. It is fun to work in the tiny format and it can be easily changed around. The punch is great for making the slots in your own cards especially if you don’t have a Big Shot and die. I was getting tired of cutting them by hand so I was thrilled to get the notification.

Just an FYI. I just contacted the company inquiring if this punch has been discontinued. They replied that it was and they had no plan to produce it in the future. Today I get a notification from Scrapbook.com that it is in stock with a limited supply and discounted to boot! So if anyone you know has been searching for one that doesn’t go for $50+ (like on ebay), rush on over to Scrapbook.com now.

I remember that years ago, Ali Edwards shared that she used a baking rack for projects-in-process. I always thought it was a really neat idea and something I'd like in my dream scrap room. When I saw the WRMK version, I was intrigued, but I think the actual baking rack is a lot more sturdy since it has metal strips on the side, sort of "caging" the items in. I agree that it would be really easy to bump everything over. I also don't think it would be as easy to put the trays back (without disturbing the other levels) as it is in an actual baker's rack since it's not as sturdy. For those of you who are interested by the idea of more space for drying items (like Nuvo drops), you can find tabletop collapsible racks for cooling cookie sheets (pictured below). The benefit of something like this is that it folds up completely so it's not in the way when you're not using it. (I have one I bought back when I was in a baking phase.) I bet with some hooks it could be hung on the side of my rolling cart or wire rack and used as a drying rack for gelli prints. Thanks for posting!

Hit the local indoor flea market again, this place is dangerous. Picked up a stack of 1945 Life magazines that had lots of great color ads, 3 old books with fantastic illustrations, numerous postcards and old photos for my collage journal, some old receipts and an adorable teeny deck of Old Maid cards which I collect. All vendors were willing to haggle which is why I like flea markets, got some great deals.
I love the people I meet at the markets too. Chatted with a lady who seemed quite the character. She was a 78 year old collager and junk journaler who loves everything victorian. I would have loved to pal around with her all day!

It’s like the abbreviations were a half thought. There’s both a Celsius and farenheit, why the need for the “temp” ? I would never use it. I don’t use my existing number stamps very much. i would use temp to document those unusually hot or cold days, especially while on vacation.

I want to try this. I don't have a laminator/minc and I don't want to buy one, nor a laser printer, nor a foil press. But this, I could get behind. So basically this is an embossing powder that adheres to the foil when heat is applied. I like it but wonder if it leaves a slightly raised foiled area? I like the idea but prefer a flat foiled image.

Went to a huge antique mall where lots of vendors were having sales. One booth had stuff piled high and stuffed in every nook and cranny and a 60% sign! You better believe I spent ages sorting through piles of paper items. Scored 3 WW II scrapbooks stuffed with ephemera for $3 each and a bag of old business postcards for $1. I might go back for 2 other scrapbooks. Picked up numerous other paper items and a vintage vase some, 1900 catalogs and childrens books too. There were a few splurges but overall some great deals. I can’t wait to sit down to read through and scan everything. Off to another mall tomorrow.

With all the talk about HS toner stamp pad And the Deco Arts gel, I got to thinking about all the different ways to foil paper and which method I liked best. I really like when I can achieve a nice smooth image using my laminator and toner sheets. I have yet to try the foil quill I just bought at TM, and am considering returning it.
Which method do you use most and why?

anniefb pas2 I'm pretty excited about the toner pad. The ebay cube at 3.75 is pretty expensive because it sounds like once the ink dries out the pad is toast. That's my only real problem, I will rarely do all my inking in one sitting, and it'll probably dry out before I use it again. Plus knowing there's a lot of waste, I would have preferred a smaller pad. The Heidi Swapp refills are pretty cheap, 4/$7, I think? It's 15ml of ink to load a pad, so 7.5ml would load a 1/2 pad, or 5ml would load 1/3 pad. I thought I'd try cutting one in half or thirds and get a cheapie measuring syringe from the pharmacy to measure my ink, and just tap my pad to the stamp. There's a starter kit that's got an original pad/case, 2 refills and the ink for $25, and with a coupon, that won't be so bad to try. I was thinking the same thing. If the pad snaps into the base on the 4 corners, it seems that if cut in half it will still secure into the base but you only use half the pad and half the amount of ink. I think using a syringe is a good idea too.

pas2 wonder if an uninked foam cube like this would work? link Interesting. I wonder what the pad is made off and how dense.

Struck up a conversation with a FB marketplace seller and found out she is clearing out her mother’s house. I might be getting a big lot of ephemera, booklets and old magazines from her. Her prices are VERY reasonable. I’m hoping we can make a deal. 😃

If your like me you watched every Creativation 2020 video on YT and made your wish list up.
Mine includes: TH ink pad storage tins Hero Arts landscape and plant themed stamps, square infinity die set and maybe a background stamp TH Distress Glazes and embossing dauber TH Ideology ephemera packs and collage paper TH stencils (they are my weakness) Spellbinders Layering dies, I liked how they could be used in multiples to make larger motifs.
My disappointments are:
HS toner stamp pad If she makes a smaller less wasteful pad then I would buy it. Stampers Anonymous stamps I’m not excited about any of their release except maybe the Baroque swirls.

I have a Minc and will probably try out the ink pad although it doesn’t sound like the most practical thing. I think Heidi was talking about maybe introducing a smaller pad and saying that would’ve Been better in terms of less ink etc. If she comes out with a smaller pad then I would purchase it but this larger pad is to much waste for my needs.

Ok just retried both a standard cut and the pixscan mat again and the machine stopped chattering, worked normally (thank goodness) exceptfor cutting around the image correctly. I think my machine is somehow out of alignment??? Anyone ever had this issue and how did you fix it?

I haven't used my cameo in a while and I consider myself a novice in some areas especially the pixscan mat. I tried using it via a scanner instead of my phone. All went well with loading image and tracing but then it wouldn't read the registration marks and it wasn't showing I was using a pixscan mat. On the 3rd try it cut but it cut slightly off the image I traced. Next time I sent pixscan mat through it now makes a loud chattering sound and won't return the mat though the carriage! What is going on? This machine may be a few years old but it is like new.
