Plants and fabric.
Low stress a few fat quarters. High stress is enough for a quilt. Or two.

Our extended family loves Pancho's cheese dip. It originated at a local restaurant and you can now buy it at grocery stores in the mid-south.
When it was only sold locally, whenever we were going to a family gathering my nieces and nephews would send me their order and we would go to the store and buy at least a dozen containers.
Then they would come by our hotel rooms and knock to get their cheese dip. Looked like we were drug dealers, LOL.
Although for one of my nephews it was a drug. He had been known to eat it with a spoon in his younger years. Although one trip he was the only one smart enough to remember to bring tortilla chips.
I remember when we used to live in Northern Virginia whenever DH drove through Tennessee on a business trip, he would stop at exit 138 in Lebanon to get me several chicken biscuits and a gallon of sweet tea. That was the farthest east that restaurant was.
That's true love right there.

I tried coconut milk in my coffee for the first time today.
It is not as rich and creamy as French vanilla coffee creamer, but at 80 calories per cup vs 45 calories per TABLESPOON, I am willing to give it a try.
Fancy schmancy creamer might be relegated to the one day per week DH fixes me frou frou coffee.

DH and I bought the house that I grew up in.
My parents bought it when it was built in 1967 and we moved in in 2019.
The kids (now young adults) consider this their childhood home because they spent so much time there growing up.
We are slowly making changes to it, although mostly cosmetic right now.
Last year we redid the kitchen with all new appliances, flooring and lighting.
This year I want to update the front porch with will change the way the front looks.
I want to change out the porch pillars and then put railing between the posts. I want to hang a porch swing to one end and install a ceiling fan.
We are also going to take out the random shrubbery in front of the porch and replace it.with some low shrubs and flowers.
DH's childhood home is in a neighborhood that really isn't safe to drive through to show the kids and we haven't thought to look it up online. Duh.

Just looking at the week you have coming up?
This past week was just exhausting. DH pulled a muscle in his back on Monday so all of the things he does to help me out fell back on me. The kids helped out some, but I was so busy I met myself coming and going.
Friday night I was in bed with cpap on by 8:20. I just couldn't stay up any longer.
Now looking at this week it is going to be exponentially worse. I have more on my plate that I can say grace over.
DH is having cataract surgery on Tuesday, so he will be out of commission, not able to drive or lift anything for at least a week.
That in and of itself makes my week tough, but my dad has a doctor appointment, and both DH (follow up) and I (+fasting lab) have doctor appointments.
And I just heard that a gentleman from church passed away last night. I don't know when the funeral is, and I don't know if Dad will want to go, but I just don't know if I can do that on top of everything else.
I have gone on ahead and planned out the meals for the week and DS is going to cook, so that will be a little less stress.
I know worrying about how tough this week won't help, so I guess my only choice is to embrace the suck and buy a bottle of wine for a reward Friday night if I make it through.
Thank you for letting me whine before the fact, since I doubt I would have time to post a whine/vent during the week.

Sorry you are getting sick again. It sucks.
I don't know why illness can't check in with us "hey, Imma need to stop by for a few days. When is a good time for you to stay home in bed?"
So that you can say "well I have plans this week, but next week the weather is going to be cold and crappy, so why don't I pencil you in for then?"
Win-win.
Feel better soon!

Garbage and old food is a definite no, big yuck.
Is the person neuro-divergent?
One person's piles of clutter is a person with ADHD fuling system.
Could it be that they don't want to be filling up their trash can with food and think "oh, I will just set this aside until I can take it to the big can in the break room?"
They don't need more storage, but they might need more waste cans or something they can use as a doom basket.

I was so not feeling working out this morning but decided to at least start and see how it went.
Usual machines went fine, even bumped the weight on a couple of them. So then I started the workout DD set for me today and managed to do them all, even the dreaded mountain climbers. On the rowing machine I beat my best time by 20 seconds for 1500m. I finished strong with my yoga routine.
Took me an hour and a half to do the whole thing. Not many endorphins, but I did feel a satisfied that I managed to get through it all.
I have lost between five and six pounds since November, depending on the day and if I have been drinking enough water.
On Friday DD is going to use the machine to measure my body composition so hopefully there will be more muscle and less fat since I started. Fingers crossed.

I have a storage box full of 1980s prom dresses and formals, mostly pastel/pink (of course) and a couple of Jessica McClintock.
Size 4 to 6 because I was actually petite back then, not just short like I am now.
I still can't get rid of them and my DD, while she can fit into them is SO NOT a frilly pink girl like her mom.

I have gotten lots of lamp shades at my local goodwill, some with tags still on.
I have also been lucky to find them at TJ Maxx/Homegoods and store like that.
I have a vintage floor lamp that needs a new coat of paint and a new shade, but it is a weird style so the hunt is on to find one I like and that will fit.
I have a pair of vintage table lamps from my Mom still with their original cream linen shades. The trim mom added needs to be removed and updated but they have held up surprisingly well for 55ish years. I guess it helps that they lived/live in the formal living room with not a ton of sunlight or actual use, LOL.

I would just love to know why 90+% of Christmas/Winter/Snow themed pjs are long pants/long sleeve/flannel.
Do designers and manufacturers not realize that not everyone lives where it is cold or that some people (me) get hot when they sleep and don't want to sweat in the name of cutsom pajamas?
I looked at pajamas online this past holiday season. The cooler offerings, if there were any, was maybe 1 design as opposed to ten of the long flannel kind.
Ok, rant over.
To answer the question, I do wear some seasonal pjs even after the season has passed (but never to sleep in), although Christmas t-shirts are relegated to post-Thanksgiving through new years.

May I join in?
I am trying to be more active this year and hopefully a little Pea support will help.
I joined a gym last November. DD got her ACSM personal trainer certification last fall and got a job at this gym. Since she doesn't drive (working on that) DH or I has to take her to/from work.
So we joined her gym and now I don't have an excuse NOT to get in the car and go. That has always been one of my biggest hurdles to going consistently.
I am making slow progress and DD has started giving me written workouts to do.
I have recently noticed a positive change in my body composition, but has gone unnoticed by everyone else.
I am trying to become much more active throughout the day, but many times the whole post-workout "I am so energized! I can do anything!" passes me right on by and I go straight to "OMG I am exhausted and need to go collapse on the couch for several hours" (if only I could do that)
I have been to the gym twice this week and today is my weekly tap class, so I am assured of getting at least 6,000 steps in.
I look forward to joining in on this thread, it will be good to have some outside encouragement and accountability.

While I am not a big girl (well, at least not in the chest area) I just bought some Cordaw brand sports bras off Amazon.
I really like the fact that they have a zipper in front and two inner hooks to keep it secure.
One of them has actual molded cups that keeps things in place without squishing and adjustablestraps in back..
They have pretty colors, not just black and white.
I love the zip front because getting in and out of a sports bra should not be a separate workout.

How about changing how you view exercise TM?
Exercise at its very essence is about moving your body, that's all. You move your body all day long, so you just have to start moving it more.
Simply doing things like stepping in place while standing at the sink or counter is moving more.
You can move in the privacy of your own home; hell, you can do the cha cha slide in your kitchen or practice a belly dance while brushing your teeth. All of that is exercise.
As trite as it seems, the old adage that the more you move the more you want to move is true. You will eventually find yourself looking for ways to move more and increase your steps, like parking farther away from a store.
As far as eating healthier goes, embrace the "ier". You don't have to do a complete overhaul of your diet and eating habits all at once.
Just try to find small ways to improve your diet, one day at a time. Maybe only having a half a sandwich one day or not having toast with breakfast.
Doesn't have to be the same thing every day, but just by asking yourself if there is something you could substitute (hummus instead of cream based dip) or forgo (not having a muffin at breakfast so you can have something sweet later) those small things start to add up.
For me, it is all about moderation. As soon as something is "forbidden " that is all I want. As long as the less healthy foods are only eaten occasionally, I do pretty well. I might go through a week or two of wanting/eating a particular food like captain crunch or pop tarts and then I won't eat them again for six months.
IMO, having a positive attitude is key, not matter what you want to do. I follow Catherine Horn on Facebook. She has such a wonderful personality and positive, upbeat attitude and it is so contagious. You can't help but smile at her posts.
Good luck on your journey!

I think I remember a Pea or two talking about temperature blankets or quilts.
I was wondering what color scheme did you use? Did you go with the standard ROYGBIV or did you come up with your own palette?
I want to do one for 2023 and looking back at the previous year most of the highs and lows fall into the 60s/70s/low 80s. But I don't want yellow or green to be the primary colors.
I want to start with a dark burgundy for 100+ and then move to reds and pinks and maybe corals then to blues and have a dark purple for below 20.
Would it look weird to specifically leave out yellow/green/teal?
Or could I include those colors for like 1 or 2 temp ranges?
I am going to use half hexagons for the low and high for each day, and I want to add a small stripe between for things like snow, ice, record temp.
Any other advice or suggestions would be most welcome?

The one thing I dis when we got a new fridge was to buy 16 Oz squeeze bottles to put all of the condiments in (ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, hot sauce(s), steak sauce, soy, salad dressings, etc).
All of the different size bottles was making me twitchy because they would not fit and was a jumbled mess.
I also bought clear 1qt bottles for coffee creamer, 1/2&1/2, milk and tea.
They took up so much less room and the gallon jugs of milk and tea live out in the garage fridge and we just refill as needed (and wash between new jugs).

Is there any Peas who are in the far East, Japan or maybe even Australia or NZ that can help me out?
DS' BFF is graduating in May. DS earned his degree in December but will be going back to see her graduate because he misses his bestie.
So BFF is a ginormous Cinnamoroll fan. Like HUGE. Has all kinds of little things with this character.
I would really love to make her a lap quilt with Cinnamoroll colors/fabric.
My problem is there is little to no fabric or much of anything here. I bought 3 smaller than a fat quarter (so like 30x40 cm) pieces of fabric off Amazon but that is all I could find.
Has/does anyone seen or know of this character? Would you be willing to be on the lookout for something Cinnamoroll?
I would be eternally grateful and willing to return the favor!

DH and I always hold hands. When we walk anywhere, sitting in church, at a restaurant across the table.
We just like the connection.
We have been together 35+ years and will celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary in about two weeks.

We celebrate the anniversary of our first date. October 4, 1987.
Two years later DH proposed on that date near the spot where he first asked me out.
We really don't know the exact day we met, it was sometime in August of 1984 when we were freshmen in college.

I can't ever imagine a scenario where you would tell someone their hair is frizzy, pretty sure they already know.
Nor would you use frizzy when describing someone because there are so many other ways to do that, age, height, haircolor, etc.
Now, my DD has always he'd to dead with frizzy locks, but I call it "fluffy" or might say it has lots of floof.
There are days that DD describes it as angry, as in "I have to wash my hair today because it is very ANGRY ".
