My latest treat I love is the BBW Gingham Vibrant collection. It has blackberry, violets and a hint of vanilla. Yummy.
I usually just get spray and lotion, but at the latest sale it was a crazy good deal to get the gift set with shower gel and handcream.
I decided it will be my fragrance for summer.

I don't have experience with knee replacement but I do know that many doctors will now have the patient start PT before surgery.
This is to strengthen the muscles/opposite joint which will be working harder and also begin working on muscle memory.
Good luck with your surgery.

He is so adorable! I really love how they are not trying to curtail his (or any of their children's) personality or spirit in the name of royal "decorum" or "protocol ".
The picture of QEII with the greats is just so lovely. No pretentiousness or fancy clothes. This group could be any family, which I am sure is some of the appeal.

I have told my kids stories of having to fill out an order form and mail it in and hope that in 6-8 weeks you will receive what you ordered and you had to pray that it fit because by the time you sent it back and reordered the size/style/color was out of stock.
Having to plan ahead so that you could get the item I time for whatever season you are ordering it for, unless you were rolling the dice on an end of season sale catalog and hoping to get something for the next year.
Mom saved soany Betty Crocker points that she got herself, my sister, and me 12 piece place settings of flatware. We all had the same pattern so she could buy extra when it was on sale and it would go with anyone's set.
In addition to knife, dinner fork, and teaspoons for 12, we also got tablespoons, soup spoons, ice cream/dessert spoons, seafood forks, individual butter spreaders, and iced tea spoons, and demitasse spoons.
Then there are serving pieces: meat forks (2), large bowl spoons (2 or 3), regular serving spoons (6 or 8), pierced serving spoons (2-3), cake servers, pie servers, sugar spoons and jam spoons (2-3 each).
Even though our kids were no longer babies we got an infant and toddler set for each child.
I have silver. Even more so because when my sister passed, my nephews gave some of her flatware back to mom and then when mom passed I got all of hers.
Then while cleaning out mom's "gift closet " I came across a box of new pieces to replace any that might have gotten lost. I have silver.
While I may never use all of it, my kids will never have to worry about buying a set of good flatware when they finally launch.
Even though the BC catalog had been gone almost a dozen years before mom passed, I still found bundles of points while cleaning out mom's house.

I have no advice but want to say my DD would LOVE something made out of that Cinnamoroll fabric! Where did you get it? This quilt is for DS' bestie who is graduating in May and it has 4 different Cinnamoroll fabrics. I got 3 fat quarters off of Amazon (actually a bit smaller than a true fat quarter) and then I bought 2 other fabrics off of Etsy. The Etsy shop is out of Singapore and the shipping was $19, about the same cost of two half yards of fabric, so not cheap. (They sent on of the wrong fabrics--with cream background instead of aqua--and refunded the fabric cost and I didn't want to pay shipping again for the right one.) Anyway, there will be four Cinnamoroll fabrics and pastel blue, aqua, lavender, yellow and pink. I have got to light a fire to get it done in time, LOL.

The quilt is going to be a lap-ish quilt of 25 blocks (5 rows of 5) with 2.5 inch sashing strips between each block.
So I don't want to add an eighth of an inch to each side, which is why I was wondering if I could just make the sashing strip just a skoshbit wider at that block.

I made a block for a sampler quilt without an actual pattern (I know, I know). I thought I had it all mathed out but the block came out to 8 inches instead of the 8.5 inches I need it to be. Is there any way to fix it without taking it apart and messing up the design. Just not adding it to the quilt is not an option, I ha e very little of this fabric and need every bit of it. Do you think it would be too noticeable if I just increased the sashing by that quarter inch around this particular block? I usually walk away when I hit a snag like this, but I am on a deadline and have to come up with a solution. Here is a picture of the block

Are you an in person shopper or just want online?
Most department stores (Dillard's, Macy's etc) usually always have black jackets of different weights/fabrics.
Ann Taylor is another brand with nice blazers/jackets.
My first stop would be my local thrift/consignment stores because I like the thrill of the hunt and it is very Forest Gump--you never know what you're going to get.

My 95 year old father lives with me and my family. He lived in an independent living apartment but hated it, especially through covid, so we moved him with us two years ago.
Frankly, at his age he really doesn't have any bills.
We put him on our AT&T plan because it is only $10 per month and he only talks to my brothers and uncle.
After mom died he put me and one of my brothers on his checking account and I got a debit card with my name in it.
I use it to pay for his medicines and anything he needs/wants. My brother who is on the account can look online and see transactions.
His health insurance supplement is a direct payment from his account.
The only other bill he has is his yearly income tax and I take the papers to his tax guy and next week I will take Dad out to sign the taxes.
As long as you are transparent with your siblings and they can see where the money is going, they probably are just glad it is being taken care of and it is less for them to do.
BTW, make sure there is a power of attorney in place and make sure it is you.

Can't stand most commercials.
The Lume one that talks about you butt Crack smelling so much % better and I always wonder how they got that data and WHO HAS THE UNFORTUNATE JOB OF SMELLING AND RATING IT?!?
And just as annoying I always ask just *HOW* they know that the Mighty Bite looks, swims, acts and TASTES like a wounded bait fish? Did someone taste test the lure and say "yeah, that is JUST what a wounded bait fish tastes like"?
Growing up we may not have been able to fast forward through commercials but at least the jingles were catchy.
Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?

We are having baked beans on Easter Sunday! What are your baked beans, please, as they are clearly not our baked beans, in a tin of tomato sauce? I use a can of Bush's baked beans and then add small diced onion and peppers, some garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, BBQ sauce, brown sugar and a few drops of hot sauce. Bake in oven until onion and peppers soft and sauce thick.

Oh so much with the five adults in our household.
We have recurring purchases of vitamins and my Dad's briefs.
We get hobby stuff (quilting supplies, paint brushes, inks), athletic shoes, clothes, hair accessories, nail polish and more.
We get at least one or two Amazon deliveries a week.
The biggest thing we have gotten is a nightstand for me in a pale pink color that I just love.

The size of piece depends on the type of pie each person wants.

I prefer Easter dinner to be more picnic-ish.
Ham sandwiches (made on yeast rolls), potato salad, deviled eggs, baked beans. Kids prefer wavy potato chips and onion dip, LOL.
We also have some type of jello salad and dessert is cake (carrot or coconut) and sugar cookies (NOT those nasty store bought iced abominations).

Another tornado is passing just south of us in Desoto County, Mississippi. We are getting the rain from the northern edge.
Praying it doesn't veer north at all or it will hit us.
We are hearing sirens from both Memphis and Desoto county.

Seeing where Wynne, AR was also hit. It's between Little Rock and Memphis. I want to say closer to Memphis, along I40. Wynne is about an hour or so west of Memphis, so closer to us than Little Rock. We are hearing Wynne was hit hard, hard. So far everything has passed on the north side of the city/county, but more is coming. If you have storms heading you way make sure all devices are charged and you have shoes and ID handy. ETA: pictures coming out of Wynne are not good. So much destruction.

My biggest concern is I haven't heard from DH if they are letting people go early.
I know some of his associates ride the bus and they are stopping service at 5, so I hope people aren't stranded.
I want them to shut down and let people go. I don't want DH in a giant warehouse if severe weather comes through.

It is heading right towards us!
Schools closed early, bus service stopping early, towns are setting up safe rooms all over and yet church still hasn't canceled this evenings stations of the cross.
I am supposed to take a pot of soup up for afterwards, but I told them if there are sirens they can do without. (Actually I said it nicer than that, but I refuse to get out in this mess.)

Reese eggs are the biggest favorite here. Haven't been out to look for them yet.
I will have to stock up on peeps, though. I used to never really like them but then I started roasting them over the fire pit and OMG, the Best! The sugar gets all bruleed and crunchy.

My pet peeve is the costumers who never seem to know what the weather actually is where the story is set and dress characters in what they think would be right.
The most rage inducing for me is the Blind Side where they are dropping Michael off at school and they are all wearing long sleeves and jackets. NO, NO, NO!!
Football players at Ole Miss report in late July/early August. It's Mississippi. So 90 to 100 degrees or more.
Sandra Bullock should be wearing a sleeveless linen sundress and Tim McGraw would be wearing the male uniform of khaki shorts, t-shirt, pastel shirt, topsiders with no socks.
The Good Witch is set up north but all of the characters loved to wear sleeveless tops outside in the fall.
It becomes distracting one you start to notice these things.

I bought some 1 quart bottles from Amazon that are square. They have a plastic lid that screws on. They fit nicely in my refrigerator door.
They came in a set of 5. I use them for milk, creamer, 1/2 &1/2, tea, and either coffee or heavy cream.
I pour my milk and sweet tea up from the gallon jugs and keep that in the garage fridge. The quart size is so much easier to handle.

I am still going to the gym 3x per week.
Two weeks ago i was down 6 pounds and the little machine showed my body fat is down 1.6%.
At first I was kind of disappointed because it doesn't seem like much but my trainer (DD said that was a huge improvement.)
My weight is fluctuating about 3lbs give or take. I said I was surprised I hadn't lost more weight, but I am replacing the fat with muscle which will eventually help my weight go down.
I am not focusing on cardio right now. At my age (57) DD says I really need to concentrate on strength and flexibility. With my history of back issues having a strong core is imperative.
I have really done well with the training routines DD has been giving me. I no longer loathe squats and are pretty good at them.
The other day I did an elbow plank on the Bosu ball and was able to hold it for 1 minute 5 seconds. Yea me!
Some of my clothes are fitting better and I found an adorable red and white pencil skirt with hibiscus flowers and it is a size or two smaller than I wore last year. Small victories!
I am wanting to concentrate on my upper arms and shoulders this next month. It is getting into sleeveless weather and I want my arms to not look like old lady arms. I can see they are improving, but could use some more definition.

From the list of side effects that they rattle off I usually think I would rather just live with whatever the medicine is supposed to cure.
"Take xyz to help heal your ingrown toenail. May cause sneezing, sore throat, itchy scalp, kidney stones or rectal bleeding"
"Don't take if you are allergic to xyz or any of its ingredients"
How do i know if i am allergic to xyz? You going to list those ingredients so I can see if I am allergic?
I just read that Ozempic (sp?) is starting to have shortages because doctors are prescribing it as a weightloss drug even without a dx of diabetes.

Preach!!
I was at the eye doctor with DH yesterday and while he was in the back I was so looking forward to a fee quiet minutes to play a sudoku game on my phone *with the sound OFF*.
Sitting behind me was an older lady holding an infant and maintaining a constant stream of "don't do that"and "come back here" to the small toddler with her.
For Peas of a certain age, think Bill Cosby's Jeffrey routine.
OMG I just wanted to concentrate on my game! I smiled and spoke to small child when it came over to try to unzip my purse but I was not in a mood to entertain him!
My pet peeve is the inordinate number of people who walk through a store with their phone on speaker.
It is a phone! STOP HOLDING IT IN FRONT OF YOU LIKE A POPTART! Put the damn thing up to your head and speak on it like you are supposed to.
And while you are at it, stop pushing your buggy down the wrong side of the aisle while you are speaking into your electronic poptart.

Our extended family loves Pancho's cheese dip. It originated at a local restaurant and you can now buy it at grocery stores in the mid-south.
When it was only sold locally, whenever we were going to a family gathering my nieces and nephews would send me their order and we would go to the store and buy at least a dozen containers.
Then they would come by our hotel rooms and knock to get their cheese dip. Looked like we were drug dealers, LOL.
Although for one of my nephews it was a drug. He had been known to eat it with a spoon in his younger years. Although one trip he was the only one smart enough to remember to bring tortilla chips.
I remember when we used to live in Northern Virginia whenever DH drove through Tennessee on a business trip, he would stop at exit 138 in Lebanon to get me several chicken biscuits and a gallon of sweet tea. That was the farthest east that restaurant was.
That's true love right there.
