I once did this with a couch and recliner. One man wanted to know if I would hold it for him until he got off work at 9:00pm Um, no. I live alone and wasn't too keen on a stranger coming to my house at night.

Please take her shopping again, or let her go alone or with a friend. That is not a prom dress at all, not even close. She doesn't want to feel out of place with everyone else in formals.

Ok, maybe I watch too many true crime shows, but his suddenly buying a gun is concerning to me. Are you concerned for your safety at all? You are both in the same house right now, correct? This. I would mention it to my attorney just in case.
Anything he has done, or is doing, has nothing to do with you. It's him that's collecting dirt on his character, not you.

No, never seen those. You're getting them because you stop scrolling and watch and engage with them though. LOL They mostly pop up in between the stories of the people I follow. They're reading your mind! Haha!
I don't know how it works sometimes, but I think it's based on your searches, who you follow, the things you look at. It's crazy. I'm afraid to search things sometimes because I know I'll start getting ads for it on FB or IG.
I was talking with a couple of my guy friends and they both said their IG feeds were full of half-dressed women and political posts. They both thought that was what everyone had on their own feeds. They asked was on mine and I told them - cyclists/bikes, art, yarn, and food.

I would've told them they could send a UPS driver with a pickup label/call tag and box. Screw bending over backwards to correct their mistake when they obviously aren't worried about it.

For any Sophie Kinsella readers, this was posted on her Facebook page this morning……. ”To my dear readers and followers I’ve wanted for a long time to share with you a health update and I’ve been waiting for the strength to do so. At the end of 2022 I was diagnosed with glioblastoma, a form of aggressive brain cancer. I did not share this before because I wanted to make sure that my children were able to hear and process the news in privacy and adapt to our ‘new normal.’ I have been under the care of the excellent team at University College Hospital in London and have had successful surgery and subsequent radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which is still ongoing. At the moment all is stable and I am feeling generally very well, though I get very tired and my memory is even worse than it was before! I am so grateful to my family and close friends who have been an incredible support to me, and to the wonderful doctors and nurses who have treated me. I am also so grateful to my readers for your constant support. The wonderful response to THE BURNOUT has really buoyed me up, during a difficult time. To everyone who is suffering from cancer in any form I send love and best wishes, as well as to those who support them. It can feel very lonely and scary to have a tough diagnosis, and the support and care of those around you means more than words can say. I’ll be in touch soon, and in the meanwhile, greetings from sunny London. Sophie xx” Very sad but glad to hear she’s staying strong. Prayers for Sophie. This makes me so sad... Her books have been so fun to read over the years.
Brit Turner, the drummer for Blackberry Smoke, was diagnosed with the same brain cancer around the same time, November 2022, and his treatment was very similar. Surgery, radiation... He continued to tour through it all. Last summer he got to a point where there was no evidence of the cancer, but it came back. He passed away last month.

Two for me this week.
First up was The Idea of You by Robinne Lee. I've had this on my TBR list forever and finally decided to read it since there's a movie coming out starring Anne Hathaway. A 39 yr old single mom unexpectedly ends up in a relationship with a 20 yr old lead singer of a world famous pop band. This book turned out very different to what I was expecting. I was expecting chick-lit, and it wasn't. It was very emotional and it made me sob. It had more s*x than I would've preferred, but all in all I really enjoyed it. (It's on Kindle Unlimited.) 4 stars
She's Not Sorry by Mary Kubica. Wear your seatbelts - this is a twisty ride! An ICU nurse caring for a patient with a traumatic brain injury from jumping off a bridge. Or did she? This one was full of surprises, but the ending felt a bit rushed. 4 stars

Even with different silhouettes aside, why wouldn't the patterns match?
Both need to look like the men's. Same style and colors.

Fox News loves to find every little problem in NY and blow it up. I'm there all the time -- I still feel perfectly safe. Go and enjoy - don't believe the BS hype. That must be why my mother keeps saying people are moving out of NYC in droves. "It's all over the news!" I've never heard one word about it, but I don't watch Fox News.

The screwing a goat made me laugh so hard. I will say to you that I'm no saint. When I responded to that message yesterday morning, I turned it right back on my bosses. I told they told me to do the approvals. And then she forwarded my message to them requesting that they tell me to stop. His reply was that the work needs to get done and that I was told to approve so as not to hold up the process. That if we wanted to work out some arrangement to only approve when we know the other is not working to work it out. She did this behind the scenes. And then she responded adding me to the email saying could you please inform Becki that I'll be approving for myself from here on out? And he replied, you're adults, I trust you to work it out yourselves. 🙄 So in one sense she got slapped but in another he turned it back to me. Your boss is ridiculous. He needed to back you up hard at this point. I thought the same thing when I read it. He should've stepped up and reprimanded her for not communicating and being unreliable. Instead, he avoided the big problem altogether. He treated them like children having a silly argument.

I wouldn't give the chair back!
Also, am I the only one who thinks it's crazy to throw away a friendship over being late for an airport pickup? People make mistakes. If a "friend" is going to get that angry over something like that, it sounds like she wasn't much of a friend in the first place.

I've never been to a Buc-ee's, but I wouldn't do that if I visited one. I get gas at Costco so there's no store to go into (our gas station is across the street from the actual Costco store.) Usually the only time I stop at a gas station is when we're traveling. Normally I leave the car at the pump to run in for drinks and use the restroom, but if I notice they're busy or someone is waiting, I move to a parking space. I can't imagine being so rude to make people wait on me.

Aw man, that means they haven't even started filming the next season. I love that show! The contestants can really surprise you. Some that are so dedicated and push themselves only to tap out at the very end. Some of the contestants annoy the crap out of me - like the one last season who whined and whined every day about his son. He never mentioned the rest of his family or his other kids, only his son. UGH! It's always interesting to see how each person builds their shelter. Does anyone remember the guy who didn't even make it one night? He saw a bear across the beach and said NOPE. I want to say he was former military? putabuttononit we'll have to have a season-long thread when it comes out! It'll be fun to keep up with how your friend is doing

I really can't believe he handslapped you that way. How are you supposed to know what's going on if no one communicates? And if he knows, why isn't he pitching in to help with her work before it becomes an issue?
It makes me so mad!

Last week I listened to Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle. She is the author of In Five Years, which I liked very much. This book reminded me a bit of the book Ready or Not that I read a couple of weeks ago, but this one was better.
Daphne Bell believes the universe has a plan for her. Every time she meets a new man , she receives a slip of paper with his name and a number on it—the exact amount of time they will be together.
I didn't like this one as much as I did In Five Years; there were some characters that I disliked and relationships I didn't feel the emotional connection that was expected. I gave it 3 stars.
This week I've been trying to get into The Kite Runner but I'm having a hard time...

Jonathon in Louisiana uses my number for everything. I get calls and texts from his insurance companies, realtors wanting to sell his house, debt collectors, you name it.
I looked him up on Facebook one time and thought about sending him a message but decided against it. If I contacted him, he would know who I was and who the phone number belonged to - it just seemed like I could be opening myself up to a bunch of harassment if he was the wrong type of person.

I watched the 20/20 show and was shocked at the extreme abuse. How did Ruby and her husband get so brainwashed by the other lady? Is the dad trying to get custody of the kids? I watched most of it last night. Cruel doesn't even begin to describe their treatment. The poor little girl couldn't even brush her teeth without being watched because they were afraid she would STEAL WATER.
If you haven't watched the full interview with their father, look it up online. His behavior is very odd, and I personally think he knew something was going on. I also think Ruby and Jodi were in a relationship and that's what lead him to be pushed out of the home.

This whole incident makes me furious. Someone should've gone with him. The bouncers shouldn't have let him leave alone in that condition. I don't care that it happens all the time, somebody should've stepped up and made sure he got back to the hotel. I told my friends, for the cost of an Uber a life would've been saved.

The day that William bowed out of his godfather's memorial service, I wonder if that's when she found out?
I really feel for her; cancer is such a scary disease, but I think it's moreso for a mother with young children.

I'm sure along with wanting their privacy, they were worried about their children. They needed time for them to understand that she is going to be okay, etc. without all the media spewing doom and gloom, scaring them to death. I completely understand that, but I absolutely cringe when I see the Rose affair stuff come up - or what other crazy conspiracy theories were out there. Same. It makes me so angry that people wouldn't just leave it alone and let her recover with the timeline that was originally given. But, the world loves drama.

Honestly, if they had just released a simple statement, I'm sure along with wanting their privacy, they were worried about their children. They needed time for them to understand that she is going to be okay, etc. without all the media spewing doom and gloom, scaring them to death.
