I cry pretty much every day - just so emotional these days! The unknown is terrifying!

Well - I live in a 'trumper' state. Good to know what you think of us and glad for it to get bad here.

On my second round of antibiotics - assuming strep - doctor didn't test for it but bloodwork showed bacterial. Haven't had it in years but this is no fun! No fever here either.

Agreed. DH does this for two vehicles but we're doing it for a year now - $72/12 months.

My condolences to you and your family - dementia is a nasty disease. It sounds strange but I feel blessed that my mom went into sudden cardiac arrest and was gone before we got to the worst dementia has to offer.

It will be my husband and I - we do like hiking but nothing too terribly strenuous - did a lot of hiking at Mt. Zion last year and found out my knees don't hold up to some of it. We did a Disney cruise to Bahamas and Castaway Cay last year with the kids and grandkids - our first cruise. He's probably more interested in history than I am - I'm really wanting to do Denali National Park, whale watching and there's an overhead tram that looks awesome - maybe some ziplining,
You guys are a wealth of information - thank you so much. We are total novices at this!

Thank you all so much! Another question - the ones we are looking at on Royal Caribbean right now are 9-12 days. That seems long to me - did you feel a 7-day was long enough?

We are looking to take an Alaskan cruise preferably late May or early June. So far we've looked at Royal Caribbean but have several to look at. They have cruises from 9-12 nights - that seems like a lot! Let me know what you did and what you'd recommend please. TIA!

Absolutely get the wand - we didn't do the experience - just let my grandson choose. We waited 3 hours for the new Hagrid ride - totally worth it!!

Thank you for this - this whole month has been so emotional for me. The first anniversary of my mom's death will be New Year's Day. I think I've spent so much time worrying about how my brother will handle the holidays that the whole grief thing is just catching up with me. So many silly things have made me tear up or cry.

Oh that's a great idea! I didn't realize the anonymous donor slot did that!
Well, that's embarrassing! The charity I proposed requires a $25 donation if you do it online! Sorry about that ladies!

Completely agree - not complaining at all - I've loved it and loved the idea from the beginning.

I'm doing this and please, please, please don't think I'm complaining! I just have some ideas and some questions in my mind that are bothering me. First off - I truly hope everyone is enjoying it as much as I am - so many wonderful places for our money to go. The only ones I haven't done are the ones that require a more than $1.00 donation (except for Kaitlyn's Foundation - did more there). I just hope that somehow these places are understanding that the $1.00 donation coming from several of us as part of a group? Sometimes I feel so cheap!
The other thing is that I have received letters from two of the charities thanking me for my donation. While that is lovely, they've already spent half of what I sent by acknowledging the gift? Most of the others just send an email which is appreciated.
I really don't want to miss out on donating to each one but I'm wondering if I'd be better off picking and choosing and donating more to certain ones? But I love them all so far! I just can't do more for 31 days and it's bugging me!
Sorry all - just some random thoughts. I love the idea and again - I'm NOT complaining - just getting some thoughts out there and hoping for ideas. Thanks!

FYI - just tried to do the donation to Modest Needs - $5 is the least donation they can accept according to their website.

That was fascinating! We took our grandson this weekend not really checking into the movie - probably not what we should have gone to. Nothing wrong with it of course - just didn't think it would hold a 10 year old's attention. He never said a word and didn't fidget through it at all. We talked a little afterwards about it and he commented that "Mr. Rogers is just as nice in person as on his show". I hope he really got some insight into how kindness works.

I ordered Tinker Crate for my 10 year old grandson - hoping he likes it as well as yours did! They are having a Cyber Monday sale right now. Good to know about the Amazon book club - he's a big reader!

I'm in also. I didn't check all but I'd like to suggest Alzheimer's Association. We also have a local service here - Safenet Services - assists women who've been affected by domestic violence. I'll see if I can find a website. safenetservices.org/donate-now/

We've done the saran wrap ball the last couple of years - one for adults and one for kids. It's always a blast. We've done the Dirty Santa numerous times with different price ranges. I think the gingerbread houses already put together would be so fun - I may do that this year. Depending on your time I think a Christmas jigsaw puzzle would be fun too.

We are currently looking at refinancing and these are a couple of the questions I've been asking:
Do you have a 'buy down' rate - where you pay xxx to get a lower interest rate? Will our mortgage be sold? Why do you sell our mortgage? Our home is in a revocable trust - can we get a mortgage loan or refinance? (This one has actually come up with some controversy).

I haven't seen this one but I love mashed potato sandwiches with lots of pepper - best with leftover Thanksgiving mashed potatoes. I also eat peanut butter out of the jar with a spoon.
