I had one when I was in high school 1970-1973. My serviceman's remains were brought to his family in the last two years - he was actually from Tulsa. If I'd seen it in time I would have gone to the memorial. His cousin is a friend of a friend so I took it to her about 6 months ago.
When I was a senior I was going to be in a local pageant and my mom tried to get me to not wear the bracelet with my gown. I persevered and wore it there and on to the state pageant.
I did keep pictures but don't have them on this computer.

I also used Trip Advisor - found a terrific road trip from San Francisco to San Diego several years ago. It had some really great stops on it.

I hate to hear this update - my mom's doctor was adamant that it was time for her to go to a facility. His advice included the fact that the facility personnel know best how to handle things and that they can teach us too. However my brother wanted the chance to take care of her himself. He moved in with her and we split time approximately 70/30. She passed away unexpectedly on January 1. God's plan was better than mine.

Love the update! I know it sounds strange but my mom died on New Year's Day of cardiac arrest. I honestly thank God every day that we didn't have to get to the worst of dementia.

Best wishes for a full recovery craftykitten! It definitely is real - my sister started a new chemo and changed all the passwords on all their accounts - no memory of doing it and no memory of any of the passwords!

I'm so sorry. My mom passed away January 1 - she had dementia but of course that's not her cause of death. The rotten disease didn't do that for her. I don't know what it is - Mom had lived in her apartment for 20 years before suddenly thinking it wasn't her home. Begged me to take her to her home. Heartbreaking.

My favorite show is Le Reve @ the Wynn - we saw 'O' last week at Bellagio and it is good also.

We just got back last week. We've stayed numerous places but were at Bally's this time - it's pretty much mid-strip so the location is great and the rooms in the tower have been re-done since last year - very nice. We saw 'O' this trip but I have to say Le Reve is by far my favorite. LOVE the High Roller - if you get your tickets online you can bypass any lines there are. Went up in the Stratosphere this time and it was cool - great view. We also did the new zipline by the High Roller - lots of fun. Get the onion rings at Wahlburgers - excellent. We always have a dinner at Maggiano's - great Italian and we love breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi @ Paris. We did breakfast at The Peppermill this year - really neat place and great food.

Can I just vent here and say my own? I can't really say that to anyone else but I'm awfully nervous. My mother has had dementia for awhile - mostly just memory loss and some confusion. Well, now it's gone full blown - she doesn't recognize her apartment and a lot of the time doesn't know who my brother and I are. She keeps wanting to go 'home'. I want her to go to assisted living but my brother has moved in with her and is doing the majority of the caretaking.
So up comes Christmas at my house. She has been asking the last few days to stay at my house even though she doesn't acknowledge that I'm her daughter - she thinks I'm a caretaker. I'm probably cruel and selfish but it's not something I want to do. If it were the only option, of course I would, but it's not. There are better options for her in my opinion. Long story short - I'm afraid it's going to set off a maelstrom and I dread it. My sister died 18 months ago and lately she hasn't been able to remember that - my nieces and brother-in-law will be there - who knows how that will go?

We did the Grand Canyon this year and it was fabulous. We live in Oklahoma so this was a 3000 mile road trip - Santa Fe, NM, Flagstaff, AZ, up through Utah to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and Arches National Park. Not sure what you like but we did a lot of hiking.
Several years ago we took a girls' trip to drive the Pacific Coast Highway. Flew into San Francisco for a couple of days, then drove Highway 1 to San Diego. It was a great trip.

Girl, you are awesome! Your life is going to be great from here on! Wanted to also thank you for your advice on our Niagara trip - we didn't get to visit St. Catharine's - just drove through and dropped a man off at his home there on our shuttle. But your country is beautiful! We were so impressed and had a lovely time. Thanks again!

We are taking a girls trip next month to Niagara Falls and staying on the Canadian side. We'd like to go to Niagara on the Lake but what's the best transportation? Do we need to rent a car and can we rent one in Niagara Falls or have to rent from the airport for the whole week?

The Historic Downtown in Flagstaff is neat. I highly recommend The Lumberyard - we were told the food is awesome but I can attest that the beer is great! All we did in Winslow was take pictures on the corner and visit a few souvenir shops.

I wear them and I like them. The fit is good - I know they're a little large but I hate the idea of taking one pair off and putting another on constantly.

Oh shoot! I'm also planning a trip to Niagara Falls in July with a couple of friends. We were planning a 5 day trip! Ashley - I'd love more ideas of things to do and places to go! We hadn't planned on renting a car but could if we're going to need to go out of town.

In case you don't stay local we have a great company here in Pryor, Oklahoma that might be able to help. It's called Tack Designs and they do great work! I believe it will come up on google.
