This little girl is the granddaughter of my husband's cousin. She is such a sponge and thrives on learning! She's an excellent swimmer as well. Her mom who was with her on the show was very much like that when she was a little girl.

I find myself being nervous about things too. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am jittery about the bridges here. Really thinking twice about going to some large events coming up, such as some of the Christmas programs at the San Francisco Symphony. Movies make me nervous too. I so do not want to live in fear but these are very challenging days alright.

I believe it will happen, and it makes me quite nervous living near a major city in California. But I don't want to live in fear.

Seriously, Social Security - you have TWO people to meet with people in one entire county??? That certainly explains why I spent 3 hours and 40 minutes in your office yesterday, most of that in the waiting area. We have a son with a disability who receives SSI, and I was called in for an annual review. I was livid that I spent half a day there. ??⚡️ ?☠

Our dog had chemo when he had cancer and had no side effects. We were very grateful he received great care from the University of California at Davis vet clinic, one of the best in the country. They gave us some generous discounts too. Unfortunately it didn't work with the rare aggressive cancer that he had and we lost him. But I'm glad we tried.

My stories center around pictures. Shortly after I graduated from college I went to the wedding of a good friend. We were looking at pictures some time later, just candids, and in one of the pictures, my husband and I are standing near each other talking with other people but we'd not met yet and didn't meet for a couple of years more!
The other picture was from the reception after my husband's graduation from seminary/master's degree. His parents took a picture of us at the reception and standing right behind us was another pastor that he went on to work with! Again, we'd not met at that point.
All of these stories are so fun!

We're in the midst of something similar, my father-in-law is confined to bed as a result of multiple health problems, especially strokes. Some days he insists we get him out of bed and into a wheelchair but we've said we can't as we don't want to hurt our backs. We have a hoyer lift which he doesn't like, and I don't blame him, but that's his only way out of bed. So in bed he stays for the most part. My mother-in-law has advancing Alzheimer's so it's pretty crazy around here. Thankfully we have tremendous support with hospice or there's no way we could do this.
My heart goes out to you and your family. Your mom has given so much. I'll be praying for your family in the midst of this.

On a recent hike we came upon a covey of quail - so it's different than finding things as above but they were so delightful that was the first thing that came to my mind!

Moving is hard, no doubt about it. When I was a child my family moved a lot and my parents made a big adventure out of it. They'd talk about all the new things to look forward to and took us on adventures right away once we got to our new area. I give them so much credit for all that we did. We've done the same thing but it seems so much harder as they get older. Thankfully our last move 2 years ago has gone very well all in all but it was still hard and I think I've had the hardest time of all of us!
Best wishes to you and your family.

7 hours. She absolutely loves her college so that helps with the distance, sort of...we are dropping her off for her sophomore year this weekend but will see her in October for parent's weekend.
