I had a nice organized corner of the family room. DH decided he wanted a larger TV so we then flip flopped the room and my organization became chaos. Just when I was thinking of buying more storage cubes, DD decided to reorganize her room and I now have 4 more cubes! (Apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but she is better at purging). I know what I'll be doing this week.

I couldn't sleep so I decided to clean up my scrap area. I haven't scrapped in a few years so I have been going through EVERYTHING to refresh my memory of my stash (notice I didn't say purging). I have a basket I keep my 12 x 12 cardstock in expanding file boxes in. Well while poking around in there I found a mystery zippered pouch. Lo and behold it was my layouts for our trip to Washington DC! I forgot that I had been working on them around the time my parents died and I put scrapping on a hold. They were just photos I had temporarily tacked on to some old SEI paper that I could never find a use for. Guess I now have my first project lined up for me when I actually get around to scrapping again.
So what long lost item have you recently rediscovered in your scrap stash?

My haul this week was a few single design packs of Kaisercraft paper, alphabet and embellishment sheets that although not of the same lines, coordinated nicely. I admit to slicing the film open to peek at the B sides. I then found Bazzil packs in neutrals that I didn't have and also coordinated with the Kaiser papers. Other than that the only other new item was a load of glimmer mists which I don't use.

Halloween with all those oranges and greens but every year my kids wore RED, lots and lots of red. Looks like a crime scene not a cute holiday layout. Can't resist buying Christmas paper, but we don't take many photos and the colors/style never seems to suit the photos.

They are very similar to the nuvo.....but the ones I have ( black and white) dry a lot flatter.....maybe the enamel us more liquid? Having said that, they may have changed the recipe, so the new colours could be fab. The dot on the left is Ranger, the right nuvo Both dry glossy and rock hard...the nuvo has dried quicker than the ranger Thanks for the comparison since I was trying to find a product that made dots that were not as raised like the Nuvo made. I dislike lumpy pages so I tend to use lower profile embellishments. I just might have to buy a bottle and try these.

So this is why I have not been purging or using my stash but rather buying new paper. I can't bear to part with my old favorites cuz when their gone their GONE. (sigh) I really do hope the existing companies will read these type of threads and really think about what we are asking for. If the fashion industry can do it so can the scrapbooking industry. They can just call it RETRO lines or something.

I still have the KI , Mustard Moon and Chatterbox rooms in my stash. Mustard Moon's muted colors were especially good for beach photos. Loved Basic Grey's Bittersweet, Scenic Route, Paperfever , and Fresh Print. Junkitz had fun papers in bright colors but slightly shabby to soften them just a bit so they didn't overwhelm the photos. They just seemed to go with everything. Daisy D's retro papers, did a whole vintage Christmas album with this line. Still have the spring/summery papers stashed away.

I love the quotes!
"Everyday is a fashion show and the world is your runway"
"Keep your heels, head & standards high"
"Life is to short to wear boring clothes"
"Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life"

Thanks for posting this Imperia! I'm also an antique/vintage clothes collector since I was a teen. My DD. who is an actress. also collects vintage. She has an extensive hat collection and has worn both her hats and clothes on and off stage. This paper line is perfect for all the photos of my girls modeling our collections.

Stopped by TM this week and they had even more of those single design packs. I found only 1 pack that I thought I would use more than on sheet of. There were several packs of Kaisercraft sticker sheets, again one design to a pack like the Basic Grey packs. I don't use dies but it looked like they again stocked up that section. There were packs of colored material, I think burlap but not the adhesive backed kind. Went home with only some thickers.

There are pieces I like from both collections and would actually use for other purposes rather than Christmas. Really like the 6x8 rather than 6x6 pads.

Welcome back but warning....these ladies are enablers! I took a 3 year break and now I spend my time "updating" my stash. I have yet to scrap a single page but I have enjoyed every minute of it!

rotflmao! Keep em coming folks this is the most inspirational thread yet.
I have to write all these down, my life is so ordinary and we like it that way. I don't buy many lines because of all the peppy sentiments and bright colors. Our family uses sarcasm, we are understated if I used "best day ever" they would roll their eyes at me and think I took a happy pill. My best day ever was the day the girls were finally finished with bottles, teething and diapers!!!!!

Just back from TM and not much new there. The washi is half gone, lots of MAMBI stickers, more single design paper packs, corrugated paper packs, a few new 6x6 but I passed them by. Left with only a date stamper and some plain tags.

I just tried Nuvo drops and they came out way too high for me and I couldn't seem to get the thin results I wanted. Guess I'm looking for discs rather than dots. I found some by AC at TM but they only had one package left. These have the flatness I desire but I can't seem to find anyone selling them for a decent price. I would prefer buying already made dots since I won't use them often enough to invest in bottles of Nuvo. I have a huge supply of all color brads but I just wanted a change. I was hoping someone put together a side by side comparison of the different brands of dots to be able to tell just how raised each is, or better yet include a pic of the dots on a fingertip on the packaging. When I have to rely on photos to shop online this information would be helpful.

I was looking at the different enamel dots for sale online and found it hard to tell just how raised they are from the photos. I am not a bulky scrapper so I am looking for the flatest dots, does anyone know if someone makes this type of dot?

I'm a bit late but last Thursday I picked up TONS of washi, first time I have ever seen washi in our store. Also bought 12x12 pads( DIY Shop, DIY Shop Crate Paper, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook) and 6x6 pads (WRMK Chalkboard, Crate Paper Boys Rule and Shimelle True Stories). They had 2 bins filled with new packs of 1 design paper and lots of new dies too.

I have had a box of miscellaneous ink pads for many years that I used for embellishments, a real hodge podge. Now I want to do more stamping and need to round out my collection of inks. I have the following
all the Tim Holtz distress mini ink pads (I love his stuff) and the 4 color archival pad black/gray/light brown/dark brown Staz On black/white/brown Cats eye chalk inks fall/christmas colors Brilliance white/brown. Antiquities pigment blue/gray Petal Point pigment ink Mist miscellaneous double dabbers that are ancient but still work. Versa fine black Versamark pad/pen Embossing inks
I don't remember why I bought so many pigment inks and am thinking I need more dye inks to use with the distress inks or for mixed media projects instead. Is there anything I missed that is on your MUST HAVE list?

I've been a crafter all my life probably since we didn't have much money as a kid so I had to make everything myself. I grew up crocheting, sewing, embroidering, painting, and making miniatures for a doll house. As an adult I continued with those plus knitting, ribbon embroidery, crafts with my kids/scout troops etc. I found scrapbooking when my kids were little and that is the craft I have stuck with the longest (along with crocheting). I am now dabbling in stamping/art journals. I have found that papercrafting gives me the most satisfaction and what I have learned from this craft I have used the most in other areas of my life. I have purged many craft supplies over the years but very little of my papercrafting supplies.

Just there yesterday and they had several MAMBI kits to go along with all the paper pads from last month. They also had Stampendous Fran's stamps. I bought some plain small tags and small tabbed cards to make mini file folders and a stamp. They moved a number of stamps and embellishments to the clearance section but they didn't have reduced price stickers yet. They also moved jumbo packs of assorted colored construction paper to clearance if anyone is looking for some for the summer with the kids.
