I haven't used mine in a long while so please remind me which types of ink pads should be stored upside down? What about distressed ink pads?

When I started 20 years ago I bought the basics and scrapped simply because I had a tight budget. When I went back to part-time work I probably spent $50-$100/month because there were all these great LSS around, all that beautiful paper and tools I had to have. Then I had a 5 year period where I wasn't scrapping much and only needed adhesive/cardstock. Now I am back to scrapping so I've been stocking up on new paper, washi tape, and rubber stamps. I have been having fun playing with distressed inks and gesso so I have been spending at least $100/month the last few months. Time to reign in the spending again until I use up some of my new stash. I do have to say I NEVER pay full price for anything I buy. I still scrap somewhat simply. I really don't like the newer designs of paper, they remind me of what was available 20 years ago and I gave all that bright/busy stuff to the kids to play with. I stocked up on the softer more distressed designs that I know I will use. My big vice now is Tuesday Morning, can't resist stopping in there weekly.

Hubby got me chocolate covered strawberries. DD1 bought me a beautiful bouquet, cooked me dinner and did all the dishes. The best and most unexpected gift was DD1 had a photo she took of my lilacs blown up and printed on a 20x20 canvas. It's gorgeous and lilacs are my favorite flower. DD2 face timed from college for a nice long chat. It was a terrific day.

I ask for a day off, no one can ask me to find something, do something, etc and I don't cook or do chores (most years). I also ask for no flowers because our anniversary is next week and I prefer to put the money into the flower beds so I can enjoy them all summer. So this year my DH and DD1 couldn't contain themselves and bought me a bouquet and chocolate covered strawberries. They are cooking today. Only one thing would make the day perfect and that is if we would finally see some SUN! I swear it's been raining for 2 weeks straight now. I have no motivation in this weather.

Is it worth it to buy the Ultimate Silhouette Guide from the Silhouette School or can I find all the same information just buy reading through all the tutorials on the site? I would love to hear anyone's reviews of this guide.

Bought some paper pads, stamps and rubons at TM. If that doesn't count then made my first trial cuts on my Cameo.

After reading the post about removing photos from albums and putting them back into boxes I started thinking about my stash of actual photos. I have put all my photos (pre digital camera) in albums chronologically awaiting to be scrapped. I have realized how often my kids like to pull their old pics out to scan to post on FB or such and thought how they couldn't do that if they were scrapped. Many photos I have scanned in order to edit them in some way and I'm glad I did. I also have a few (ok many) boxes of duplicates that I got back after my parents passed away. I'm thinking of scanning some of those too and just get rid of the hard copies that take up so much room.
So does anyone else scan their originals before scrapping them? Have you gotten rid of your duplicates?

Another traditional scrapper here, mostly 8.5x11. I made a 12x12 Christmas album for my mom and decided I liked that size for travel albums. I love multi pic layouts and my style is simple, never got into bulky embellishments. I plan to incorporate more of a Tim Holtz feel into future albums since my family is now older and I have lots of vintage photos to work with too. I also want to do an "all about me" album/art journal. I regretted not asking my parents/grandparents more questions and realized my children really don't know "me" either, thought this would be a great way to do it. I've been scrapping for over 15 years and probably have enough photos to keep me busy until I die (I'm a slow scrapper).

Yipee it's fixed! I did a bit more digging and determined it was somehow getting caught up on the roller on the left. I turned everything off and redid my steps, and crossed my fingers. Voila it worked thank goodness. This from a very technology challenged person.
Glad to hear they have good customer service, just hope I never need to call them!

I am just trying out my new silhouette (finally since it was a Christmas gift). My first few cuts were ok, but then I tried a more complicated design on plain thin cardstock. I have paper aligned correctly in the top left corner but the silhouette consistently refuses to cut 1"in from the left of the cutting grid for about 1/4" all the way down the design. What could be causing this? It's almost as if the cutter isn't getting the full signal of where to cut. Where should I go for an answer? I tried to google the problem but no one seems to have a skipping problem like this. Would contacting Silhouette directly be of any use? I am perplexed, never had this issue with the Craftrobo.

Yesterday I was in TM and they had a few new block rubber stamps, cling stamps by Echo Park, Little B, Studio G and Graphic 45 (Typography and Mother Goose collections). They had new embellishments but I only glanced at them, lots of Little B. There was no new paper pads/kits. Our store gets in very little in the way of scrapping but they do have tons of stamp/die sets which I don't use.

Thanks for the advice, I guess I will be removing the foam. These are all my large sized stamps. I have the black foam too but I stamped my image on the backs first with white Stazon. I have to buy my foam online like everything else that isn't sold in a big box store. Boy I miss my LSS.

I have some stamps that are literally falling off the wood block so I plan to use ez mount and convert them to cling stamps. The ones I did before I removed the foam and adhesive before adhering to the 1/8" ez mount. I wanted to use the 1/16" this time. It says for rubber with foam on package. I wanted to know if the ones that pulled away foam with rubber still attached can be secured to the thin ez mount directly or do I have to try to clean the hardened adhesive off the foam first or will it stick ok?

I love sandwiches made with Sweet Lebanon Bologna (Summersausage) with Miracle Whip on one side of the meat and strawberry jam on the other. PB on radishes is wonderful, it tames out the "bite". DD slices them into rounds and stacks them with PB between like oreos. She would take them to work and by the end of lunch all her co workers would be eating them. My sister loves potatoe chips smeared with mayo and a slice of americann cheese on top.

Was just talking about this with my sister and she told me my grandmother used to fast one day every week. I never knew that, no wonder she was so small! I have heard that alternating your calorie count everyday speeds up weight loss so I would think it would work under the same principal. Don't know if I could do it though, I don't have that much self control.

Does anyone know of an alternate source for the same quality of tag board that Ranger uses for their tags? I haven't been able to determine the weight of the oak tag they use. I would like to buy some in full sheets in larger quantities. I am also interested in white as well as the normal tan. Can anyone help?

Another question about traveling abroad, how does everyone prefer to carry their passports? Do you take them everywhere you go? Daughter is to take a day bag with a fold up umbrella and a small rain jacket. I don't want her carrying her passport in the day bag I want her to carry it on her person. Is there any pouch type carrier that will work for a very skinny person since it won't be as easy to conceal on her body?

Thanks everyone, had a long talk with our credit union and they said London is one of the locations they "block" regularly so I need to request them to "not block" her card for the two weeks there. They said to make sure she has PINs for the credit cards for a back up. Glad to know she won't have trouble with the chip/signature thing. I will make sure she knows to not use a taxi unless it's the last resort. Thanks for reminding me about the card protection pouches, I've been meaning to buy a few anyhow.

Several background rubber stamps. I'm not really a stamper but I want to branch out and change my style in my scrapbooks now that my kids are adults. I am liking the whole Tim Holtz tag/stencil style.

I know it's been discussed before but I just can't seem to wrap my head around this. What is the best way for a college student to handle money in London. DD is going on a 2 week trip. They will be doing sightseeing and classes during the day and a play 9 out of the 12 nights there. They are staying at a hostel that provides breakfast/lunch so I guess dinner is on them. DD is not a shopper so I am not worried about that. What is the best way to handle money on this trip? She has two chip cards (Chase Freedom Visa and Capital One Quicksilver). Can I request PINs for these cards? Can they be used easily at an ATM for cash advances? Will she be able to use her credit union debit card at an ATM?

We can all smell it here too. FYI if you enjoy it but want less of a smell when you pee make sure to drink LOTS of water while eating it, it dilutes the smell.

This year! I gave DD1 a little something silly in a card and DD2 got a card in the mail since she couldn't come home from college this year. They loved getting candy in a basket along with nail polish, inexpensive earrings or a cheap watch, and a pair of silly socks each year. The candy just went in a candy dish on the table.

I'm one of those people that has a hard time letting go of something I think may have a purpose down the road. Thank my depression era parents for that way of thinking! I just scanned the stickers and die cuts and they are all in a big baggie for my nieces. They are gonna love this Easter freebie. It didn't take that long. Now I just have to learn how to do print and cut on the Cameo!

I have been purging my stash and was considering scanning old diecuts I have had since the 90's to use for making cut files on my cameo. They are in weird colors I will never use but I do like the shapes. I was also considering doing the same with some old sticker sheets that I might get around to using one day. I don't want to trash items I spent hard earned money on, but at the same time I doubt I will ever actually use them and they are just cluttering up the place. Has anyone done this yet?
I do have a stash of the paper piecing pages from the old scrapbook magazines that I have scanned. I have used those on my old craft robo to make cut files. I guess I am on a scan and purge binge right now, I am also scanning my kids artwork, certificates, school paper, etc to save for potential use on layouts in their books. I just need to get rid of all this stuff I have been saving.

I just got my DNA results back and there were no surprises on my European roots since I favor my mother's side of the family. I was disappointed in that there was no trace of my supposed Native American roots. I am waiting for my brothers DNA test since he strongly favors our fathers side and looks Native American. I have been fortunate in not having to research 3/4 of my family tree since I inherited several printed genealogies dating back to their arrival in the US in the late 1700's. We are trying to prove that my father's great grandmother was indeed Native American (probably Delaware). Unfortunately that line had met with lots of tragic deaths and all I have to go on are family stories from people who's parents died when they were very young.

I have lived with IBS-D for 30 years. My triggers are fats/fried food, gravy (even defatted), some wines, rum, raw cruciferous veggies, and sauerkraut. I have never had trouble with dairy products, but my DD who also has IBS is lactose intolerant. The BEST thing I ever did was start taking a good probiotic daily combined with saccharomyces boulardii (I use Jarrow brand from Amazon) which is highly recommended for IBS sufferers. I won't go a day without my SB! I also try to live a lower stress lifestyle. I changed jobs which helped a lot. This combination has kept my flairs to a minimum for the last 10 years. I do not have to take any form of anti spasmodic or pain meds. Finding your triggers is the first step, good luck. Make sure you do not have hypothyroidism before drinking lots of soy milk, as soy is to be avoided if you do (as per my endocrinologist).

I happened to get to the store just as she was putting SB stuff out. MAMBI pads, BG pad that came in crate, chenille flowers and chipboard embellishments for PB&J. They mostly received dies. I wish our store carried more paper.

I was taking pycnogenol (french marine pine bark extract) 100 mg to see if it would help with a skin issue I was having. Helped somewhat with my skin but wow did it eliminate my night sweats/hot flashes!!! You can buy it on Amazon. I've discussed it with both my family physician and gynecologist and they were very interested in the supplement.

Way more than I should have! I've been on a 3 year break from scrapping (life got in the way). I had to "re aquaint" myself with my supplies and found I HATE many of my old papers, some of which are 15 years old. Guess they will go in the practice pile for learning to use my Cameo. I have HL, ACM, Ms, Js and TM all with in a few miles of my house...very dangerous indeed. I've also shopped Scrapbook.com and Steals. The only thing I didn't buy is adhesive.
Tim Holtz mini distress inks with the storage tin, a few spray stains, paints and stencils Staz On white to replace my old one stamps on sale or clearance Several clearance paper pads of distress style paper (my fav style) Disney themed paper and washi tape BG warehouse box and open stock BG paper (I love BG) several kits mostly Christmas themed (as if I really need more Christmas paper) 2 Advantus Easy Access Paper Holders (Amazon) to hold the paper pads Mini brads on clearance Page protectors

After my last post I have decided to give washi a try. I would like to draw on everyone's expertise and make a list of companies that make the stickier washi tapes or the brands known to not stay stuck at all. I don't want to waste my money on those tapes if I can avoid them. Feel free to list your favorite companies as well.
