I have been through it. After brain surgery my Dr accidentally wrote my prescription wrong. Instead of scrip for three months of Dilantin he wrote three months of Dilantin for one month! Which means I was taking triple the dosage. It was horrible!!!! I went psychotic, It was the strangest sensation. I had just been through the most spiritual, insane, emotional experience of my life, being diagnosed with a brain tumor and then having brain surgery all in a matter of 5 day. I was so greatful to be alive, happy I wasn't dead. But all I wanted to do was kill myself!
The Drs office ignored me so finally I had my mother take me down. I sat in the office until they saw me. They blew me off. And I was ticked! But immediately I had a though that, " you have to let this go, you have been through to much this last month, diagnosed with a brain tumor, emergency surgery, hullucinated for days at the hospital, brain damage from Dr during surgery, left side of your body is numb for the rest of your life, recovery from brain surgery, can't walk without holding onto something, a husband and kids who needed a wife and Mother when I was at my worst. You have to let this go". So I did, I let it go!
Recently I had my new insurance company tell me that this Dr is the only Neurosurgeon I can go to. I fought them and lost. I refuse to go back to him. So now I am a brain tumor patient without a Neurosurgeon, who would rather see a family doctor than in incompetent Neurosurgeon!
I am sorry you are having to deal with this I would file a complaint. I wish I would have been able to. Jen

Once a week take some meat out of the freezer and throw it in the fridge and plan your meals around that. If you have a hard time coming up with meals we've got your back. Post here what's in your fridge and we will give you ideas.
This is a problem of mine too. Jen

Since the top of my head was shaved off 14 months ago I cut mine off to blend in with the grow out. My haircut is a stacked A line. The back is about an inch longer than my hairline and the front barely touches my chin when I pull it. Funny thing is that since the brain tumor I focus on my hair and what a huge loss it's been for me to have it shaved off. But now that it's short I kind of like it. It's fun and stylish and I have a lot less bad hair days now. On the flip side it's a lot more of an up keep. It's a style and color that needs a trim/color every 6 weeks. I stretch it out to 8 weeks to save money. I don't think I will go back to long hair. Jen

Ugh!! I feel your pain! I had to switch insurance in Jan. I had to cancel an apt with my neurosurgeon in Jan because the new insurance company didn't do my paperwork until Jan 25th. I spent the entire month of Jan calling twice a week begging them to do my paperwork. Once we finally got our insurance cards I couldn't see Neurosurgeon without a referral from a primary care Dr which I don't have. I called the Drs on the list from my insurance company and they aren't accepting patients and are on a 6 month wait. My father finally had to make some phone calls to get me in. All for the going rate of $700 a month. jen Wow - what a pain. My insurance plan some years ago required a referral from a PCP to see a specialist, which for me was ridiculous. It was wasted time (on my part and the PCP) and money to go to an office visit just to have the doctor say yes, you need a specialist. My plan now doesn't require a referral. And even if it did - I can't believe you had to wait that long for a PCP. Is it because the in network doctors on your insurance are severely limited? Seems so wrong to require PCP then not have enough PCP doctors. The reason for a 6 month wait is that there is a shortage of PCP in my area. I get the need for for referral but, in my case since this was a year follow up appointment for a brain tumor I had last year I was a bit irritated with all the loops I had to go through. It all worked out for me, and I am very grateful for that. But it makes me sad for all the people out there who don't have Dad's who know who to call. Jen

I have HE washer and dryer downstairs and a stackable, water guzzling washing machine in my master bedroom. I love my water guzzling washing machine so much that I wash all the clothes for the family in my master bedroom. But the dryer in my master is broken so I haul all the clothes downstairs to dry them. It's a huge pain. But for the fist time in 12 years of having used a HE washing machine we finally have clean clothes.

I am so Jealous, we have had a dull, gray, freezing, wet, ice, snow storm, school delayed, never ending, miserable winter here in central Washington. The sun finally came out today with a high of 45. We were singing praises to and worshiping the sun. But blinded by its radiant light that we hadn't seen in months. Did I mention this has been a miserable winter. I think I have frost bite. Jen
