Hi, I sent to everyone on the list...I loved making the cards and it was a blast coming home to a mail box of happiness! I took the sting out of the postage by buying 1-2 books here and there starting in September. I bought the international stamps once we had the final list. You do not have to send to everyone and you do not have to make the cards. It was a great experience! Already thinking about this year!!

Steph- so sorry about your cousin- you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The prep is not fun but it is one day that can extend a life--- so worth doing! I have it done very 5 years-- I forget about the prep the day after it is done; our minds are great protectors!

Don't tell my sister- but I told my niece her bridal shower is next Sunday. Actually- when she was at my house working on her wedding invitations- I casually mentioned that a copy of her shower invitation (handmade by me and her mom) was--- oooops--- with the papers and adhesive we would be using- so if she did not want to know-- let me move it out of view. She was very grateful--she wants to look nice and arrive on time. We are very close (she is my Goddaughter and I am performing the wedding ceremony) so I think that gives me a little leeway!!

Just returned from a week in Virgina/DC area. Oh my- this northern frail flower was wet and wilted the whole time!! We spent a day at Kings Dominion where they were kind enough to post the temperature as 94 degrees, feels like 110. ya, I did not need to see that! My body just knew it was stinkin hot and humid!

I have a Nordstrom store card. I love using it at The Rack; you get points there as well- and yes- you earn the points without having to pay the bill in full. I also use my card for The Rack online-- love the bargains! There are several times a year that I get emails with days where you get 2 or 3 points. About 2 weeks ago I got 3 points instead of 1.

I finished listening to Stephen King's Mr. Mercedes. It really held my interest, liked the story and Will Patton was the reader- he did a fabulous job. I really liked 11/23/63 by SK- and was not disappointed in this story. I am going to start The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I read Mr. Mercedes at the end of last year and really, really like it. Did you know that it is a trilogy? I can't wait to read the next 2 books. They are Finders Keepers and End of Watch.wow- I did not know that-- thanks so much! I am going to add them to my summer reading list!

Agree that you may be jumping ahead- but I also understand your concern and desire for a resolution. I had several submucosal fibroids. I suffered with heavy, frequent bleeding with clots ranging in size from a grape to a slice of bread (seriously I had 2 that were shaped exactly like a slice of bread!). At one point I required blood tranfusions. My doc was wonderful and tried several things over the years-most with temporary relief. Both of us were reluctant to jump to a hysterectomy (despite the issues- I am fond of my uterus!). Like crimsonat05, I had a uterine artery embolization about 6 years ago. The UAE was wonderfully life transforming for me.

Back to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji-- with my man- in 5 years. I went with 2 girlfriends years ago and it was a trip of a lifetime-- now I want to do it with my SO. But I would love to fly first class due to the super long flights. The older I get, comfort is important! Tubon- your post brought great memories for me. When I travel-- I like to think0 coud I live here. New Zealand is a bug YES! If I get a back up dream--- the British Isles- with a lot of time in Scotland!!

I have one- I really like that it will cut stamped images- and I do not need to buy dies to coordinate with the stamps. I like that I can choose to have it cut the exact shape of the image or add a while border. I have not used it a lot yet- but I do like it! There is a large thread on splitcoast stampers about the scan and cut. There are lots of things that can be done with it-I just have not had a lot of time to play with it.

Finally finished listening to The Lake House. Really enjoyed the story and all the characters and the story going back and forth between the 1930s and 2003. I just started listening to The 14th Colony by Steve Berry. Any insight into this story another Cotton Malone book.

I am ok with an 'older' reference- as long as I have some current/recent as well. If you stayed in a job for a while- it would not be a red flag to me to have someone you worked with 8 years ago. I am in my 14th year at this company- and if a reference was needed from a current and former employer- my references would be pretty old!

Please call the former reference and let her know you would like to use her as a reference. As a former nursing director (promoted to AVP 2 years ago and am very happy!) - I am often asked for references by nurses- and I always appreciate the heads up to expect a call. My company asks staff to sign a release for us to give a reference so I like to be able to let staff know that requirement.
Of the 2 choices-I would pick job #2- the walk may be an issue- but I drive to work so I am not in a position to give advice on walking in bad weather. I would not like working in a row of people- having my own space to work would be important. Job #1 has things that seem important to you- like a larger staff and work life balance. A cold boss would be a deal breaker for me-depending on the amount of time you would be spending with her. Best of luck-- and keep us posted on your decision!!

I was appalled and started to shake seeing the video. NOT ok to hit, paddle, strike a child- no matter what he did- yes- he needed to be disciplined but violence with violence- no way. I am also upset that the mother videoed it-- I know she was worried about jail but never would I allow anyone to hit a child and watch it happen. My mother's 2 mantras: This is a non violent home and People are for loving, not hitting. We were not hit- and all 4 of us came out just fine. I am grateful I had my mother and father as parents-I know not everyone is as lucky as I was. Agree with Debbie in MD- There are kind and thoughtful ways to teach children how to behave and you should never do anything in a fit of anger.

I'm about 3/4 done with The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair. This book was written in French and has been translated into English. It's almost a novel within a novel. A writer, struggling with writers block, goes to visit with his former professor and mentor. Shortly after, his mentor is arrested and implicated in the 30 year old murder of two women. The younger writer returns to the small coastal town (set in New Hampshire) to unearth the truth and begins to write a book about the murders. Not until I was reading it for some time, did I discover that it's being made into a movie staring Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling. It reads like a movie script, so I'm not surprised it's headed for the big screen. Even at this point, I have no idea how it will end...that's always good when an author can keep you guessing. I read this a few years ago and it really held my interest! I am listening to The Lake House-taking me a while since it seems like my listening time has been limited lately. Have a road trip for work later this week so I will get a few hours of listening in my car!

Check out Sandyallnock.com. She has a great hex chart. She made it easy to see what colors work together-outside of the regular blending families. You may find a group of browns you like for animals. And I agree about getting some of the lighter grays.
