Just curious. Why not? After all he has done. This is money that goes towards your kids. I'm curious too. He threatens you with contempt, but you seem to let him still pull the strings and direct everything the way he wants. From all the posts I've read, I'm guessing she likes the drama. This could have been settled a long time ago but instead there's always some drama filled post.

Thank you so much lindamh , I appreciate the road map Just a FYI for anyone wondering, no one can view info from a link to the closed C+C group unless they are already an approved member. I have a question for those of you who are or have prepped. I was looking through the Crafter Companion projects to prep some things (even though no prep is listed). I am stumped on card #2, step #3. I have absolutely no idea how to do this on a Platinum6. Could someone share how to emboss (not cut) with a cutting die and this machine? Thank you! If you have the newer Spellbinders universal platform system, it's the "how to emboss a cut shape" sandwich listed on the platform base. If you don't have the universal platform system, I *think* from the bottom up, it's the base, tan flexible mat, cardstock, die face down & blue embossing plate. I may be missing 1 clear cutting plate in there somewhere. Let me look to see if I can find a Jennifer McGuire video for a visual. ETA: Just realized the sandwich is listed on the old non-universal platform as "how to emboss a cut shape" too.

Absolutely yes and it's not just kids that spend too much time on the internet.
I'm soooooo glad I grew up in the 70s & 80s before social media. I'm also glad I'm not a parent because cellphones/iPads/social media would be severely limited and absolutely the hill I would die on.
ETA: I fully admit I currently spend way too much time on social media.

Yes, there are absolutely telecommuter jobs. It’s not a scam. I work for a fortune 10 company and most of our office jobs are either full time or part time telecommuter.
Since the pandemic, just in my area, we’ve given up leases on 6 local buildings and the one remaining large building is half empty. The company realized telecommuting works for the masses.
What is your daughters field of work? Is she just applying for anything WFH regardless of her field of work? If so, that’s the problem.

It's not guns, it is gun OWNERS. Would it be any more tragic if the child had stabbed their sister, gave them something poisonous, no. The parents were neglectful and put their children at risk. I will not blame the tool used, I will always blame the person using it. This is horrific and the parents absolutely should be charged with child endangerment. I really do not care they are suffering because their child died, they are responsible for that child's death. This is utter bullshit! IT’S THE FUCKING GUNS! Anyone that thinks different is a clueless moron. Your own example proves IT’S THE GUNS. Knives are abundant in EVERY home and how many are used in mass murders every year? Zero, why IT’S THE FUCKING GUNS!

I love the Pink & Main dies. I’m not sure how to assemble it so I am looking forward to learning that in the class. I used the blue/yellow plaid papers but not the other. I switched it out for some rainbow heart patterned paper layered on kraft cardstock. I never would have purchased these dies but I think I’ll get a lot of use from them.

I have a question. In the larger set of Brutus Monroe dies, there is a very large die. Looks like we don’t use it in the projects. Can anyone tell me what it’s used for/how to use it? You can either PM me or put the answer in a spoiler. Thank you so much! I also want to add that one of the word dies is so difficult to read :/ the stamp appears marginally better. Poorly designed IMHO, am I the only one? Is anyone feeling inspired by the contents of this class? I’m not feelin’ it yet and could use some encouragement/ideas. I hope lots of people post different/their own versions of these cards after class is over to help me out! Some how that die creates an interactive easel card base. I'm not exactly sure how it works but I *think* we use it for card #1 and #2. I'm not a fan of those tiny sentiments and probably won't use them. However, this is the first time I actually like the Brutus Monroe products we've received in a box. I don't care for the colors used in the example so I'm going to change those up but I will definitely use the stamps, dies & stencils.

Today I finished the Concord and 9th die cutting and the Spellbinders homework -- but only the part listed as homework, so I haven't attempted the big die that was giving folks issues. I figure do all the homework homework, then work on the nice to have completed stuff. There is a post on the FB group about this die with lots of tips and tricks for those having a hard time cutting with it. Be sure to check that out if you have issues.

For some reason, I just can't get into he LDRS cards. I'm guessing because the examples are so specific and I don't know anyone turning 16 or 21. It seems so weird to put 63 or 51 on a card. If you are putting your own twist on these cards, what will you be doing?

If we stayed on daylight time year round, it would be dark until 9am in winter. If we stayed on standard tine, it would be light at 5am in summer. This is not correct at all. It’s currently winter and YESTERDAY it was not dark until 9am. 🤦🏼♀️

Since there is not an unboxing for this event, I wanted to post a quick update even though the classes are not until next weekend. I'm pretty much going to be knee deep in card making for the next 2 weekends but I did want to share this with you all. I received my kit and to be really honest, I'm disappointed. I'm not disappointed with the stamps & dies, I'm mainly disappointed with the ink cubes and paper we received. We received 8 ink cubes of the new colors. First, 3 of the colors overlap with the C&C box which I received first so technically, the students signed up for the In The Classroom event were not the first to get the new colors. Second, I truly expected 12 ink cubes so that was a total bummer. The "cardstock sampler" was an A2 panel of each color. That's it! I expected a full sheet of cardstock in each color. On the positive side, the stamps & dies are good and I do like the cards we will make in the class. The swatch dies are something that I never would buy for myself but I think it will be kinda cool to have a small sample of the various cardmaking companies cardstock. As far as the C&9 color line, they are introducing 25 new colors! If you have full set syndrome, this is gonna get expensive! Also, they are discontinuing Marmalade which I think is a HUGE mistake because they are no longer going to have a true orange. All of the colors will be available in April. We did get a coupon code with our kit so that's nice. I'm definitely going to order a full size cardstock sampler and some additional cubes. I did want to mention one thing I noticed while I was making my swatch book. The weight of the cardstock seems to vary by color. Some are normal weight and some are lighter weight. I thought that was strange. Here are some pictures. Sorry my lighting isn't very good. Also, there is a video where you can hear/see more about the colors:

Is it the Hero Arts fence stamp? It sounds like a lot of people not he FB page are have issues with that one. No, the one I have issues with (so far) is the Altenew. The center of the largest focal point will not impress. I submitted a photo as well as the google form, so hopefully it will be replaced. Oh that’s good to know. That’s one of my favorite classes so I’ll make sure to test it today.

I had a 1986 Nissan Sentra back in the day. Loved that car and never had any issues with it. I’ve had other cars since but in 2017 bought a brand new Rouge. I LOVE it. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a car. There are no huge blind spots, it gets good gas mileage and has been relatively low maintenance.

Girls, make sure to check your stamps. I have one so far (of course the one I want to use NOW) that will not fully impress the middle of the image. This.^^^ Every new stamp I get I tape the backing sheet to the door of my stamping platform with blue painters tape and stamp the whole thing to make sure it works. I'm having problems with the LDRS set. Anyone else? The cake, cupcake, make a WISH and the large and small celebrate. It's like they aren't etched deep enough and I get over-stamping. ETA: I stamp on scratch paper not the good stuff. Those are all stamping good for me. I also tried the HA fence and it stamps but it's not crisp.

Between the Spellbinders, Concord & 9th, Pink & Main and Scrapbook.com classes, I feel like I've been die cutting for days! I'm not thru half of the homework and I don't feel like see any light at the end of the tunnel. I'm also keeping list of all the heat embossing so I can do that all at once.

If you have not taken your C&9 dies out of the package, how many dies do you have? I forgot to take a pic before I opened mine and those dies are tiny!

I'm not a fan of the Simon Hurley class which is such a bummer because I really liked his last time. Now the scrapbook.com class I LOVE...but it is pink. I've just started on the homework and only have Gina K and Spellbinders completed.

Question! As someone who has been tempted by the whole foiling in the past... can you only foil with the special "foil plates" or are there ways to use other supplies you have with foil? I do love the look, but have told myself I can just emboss. You can use regular dies to foil but the lines are much thinner.

The second she started with the fat shaming, all bets are off. Had she just been bitching about the parking spot it would have been nothing really but the once she started with the fat bullshit, fuck her. I hope her company did see it and she gets fired.

MichyM I don't hot foil so I don't have anything to add on that front. But for the issue of not having a detail stamp for some of your products, you can ink and heat emboss with your die. While it doesn't give the same look as foiling, heat embossing is an alternative.

Since the issue with die cutting the Spellbinders intricate die was brought up, I pulled out my Gemini Jr (which I'm not impressed with but that's another story) to cut the panels.
I did the 1st one without the metal shim and it cut but not great. The outer "ring" I had to poke out some chads and they were barely cut so I had to poke hard. The center "ring" more embossed instead of cut but since it looks like we aren't using that piece, I'm not too worried about it.
For the 2nd and 3rd panels, I did use the metal shim and it cut perfectly on all 3 "rings". Most of the chads came out automatically but the ones I did poke out were super easy to poke.
This is the sandwich I used:
clear plate (top) frosted shim metal plate magnetic shim die paper clear plate (bottom)

I don't think I've ever been somewhere that had 2 right turn only lanes. That being said, I live in CA and if it was clear, I'd turn right from either lane. I just have no idea if it's legal.

I don't know all the details but I thought I heard on the news that the County only plows the main roads and that does not include all the residential streets. Which means residents trapped on their streets. The County actually told the residents to hire a plow company if they want out!
On one hand, if you know this while living there, then that's on the residents. However, you'd think because this is a once is 40 year storm and for safety, the County would plow everything now that the main roads are clear.
I just can't believe the ski resorts are opening and residents are still trapped.

Where is the original post? I *think* that she ( angel97701 ) wasn't getting the validation that she was looking for. When you have 3 German Shepherd's in the house, there will be a smell that carpet cleaning will not get out. She sounded very stressed. Well give it a bit, she’ll probably come back with her shitty alter and start trolling. 🙄

Does anyone feel like sharing the contents of their "extras" bag. Either in a spoiler, or via PM. As far as I can tell there is no info about it online or in the book. It looks like I may be missing one or two (or more) things...and would rather not wait till the 14th (if possible) to confirm. To be clear, I'm not asking about class contents/supplies (that's in the book) but in the EXTRAS bag. Thanks so much! Did you get the email on Friday? That had a link to the box contents list. Are referring to what’s in the drawstring bag?
