I saw that this morning, so interesting. Lovely colour Yes. When I first saw the headline I expected it to be blonde. Instead it is the color of the spots. I guess it is more like a one giant spot giraffe. They are having a contest to name them. I thought this too!!

I graduated in 1987 in Florida.
Besides the fact that it's Florida and I don't really care to ever go back there because of what it's become, it's just never really worked out for me to attend. I really wanted to go to my 10 year and even helped from afar to plan things. I was 6 months pregnant with my DD#1 and ended up not being allowed to travel (I lived in MS at the time). I've kept up with the ones who do the planning and love seeing all of the pics of the activities and how everyone has changed. I'm "friends" on FB with most of the people I cared about back then so I feel like I'm caught up with the news in their lives. Strangely, many of my classmate FB friends aren't even ones I hung with in school. It's been nice to see the maturity level go up as we've aged. LOL
I do keep in touch with a few of my HS teachers. Even to this day, at 54, I still refer to them as Mr. or Mrs. So-and-so. LOL

Medicaid (also called Title-19 in Iowa) should have a case worker for your Mom. Start there. You might still need an attorney if they can't resolve things but I know in my FIL's case, we just called the case worker for his case and she was able to "back pay" I think up to a year. It might not get rid of the whole bill, but anything helps.

Boy & girl!! They had twins together. If they were smart, they'd let the stepmother have them then at least they'd be raised with their little sisters.

I do pieced die cuts but have never done tear bears. Before Cricut I would use coloring book pages and make my own paper pieced die characters for pages. Still one of my favorite embellies!

I am so sorry. It really messes with your head doesn't it? You try so hard to heal them and make them better and in the end you choose to end their life. I envy those who say that it's the kindest thing that they can do for their pet. I felt guilty because I allowed her to suffer hoping she would get better and I felt guilty for making the decision to put her down.
In the end I went with the doctors recommendation and told myself that in the wild she would've died long before because the injured are always picked off first. It wasn't much comfort but I was glad her suffering was over. This sums it up for me. Our girl was so sick. She had swollen up to the point where her little legs could barely hold her. They tried everything, looked for a bite mark, checked her organs to make sure they were functioning correctly (they had started to fail by that time), check for parasites, did all sorts of blood work. She was on steroids, and antibiotics, and a pain med. The vet was just stumped. She stopped eating, and would only "drink" what we forced into her via syringe. Looking at the blood work, they were 99% sure that she had cancer. We had to decide if we wanted to spend the gobs of money for the tests, surgery, and treatment if it wasn't going to bring her back to us. In the end, we made the decision to end her suffering. It was a tough one to make. Was it the right one? We might never know, but at the time it broke our hearts to see her the way she was. Hugs to you and prayers for your heart.

I would say yes just because hurricanes are SO unpredictable. Especially when your area is not really used to them.

I'm pretty sure it is only if you are planning to stay longer than 90 days.
Oops!!! That is changing in 2024!
Do you need a visa to travel to Europe for vacation?
Starting in 2024, U.S. passport holders traveling to Europe will need to apply for authorization through the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) before their visit. While U.S. nationals currently enjoy visa-free access to most E.U.Jul 25, 2023

My DD (17) is going to be going to Kirkwood in January. We are in desperate need of housing!! Any suggestions??
Her starting in January seems to be the main hiccup in the near campus housing since most kids are going to school this month and filling up the apartments now.

so I'd go with he was saying my dad was a man that was easy to interact with. That's where I'd go with this particular one. However, I do agree that being called the other things Sweetie, Honey, Hon, etc. is demeaning and usually uncomfortable. I have a name, if you don't want to use it or you aren't familiar enough with me to know it, you can call me ma'am, or even Ms/Miss and get the job done. I will say though, my PCP calls everybody "Bud" or "Buddy". LOL I thought at first it was because he was just bad with names, although a great doctor, but he's not, he throws out the correct names too. LOL

I have finally moved into my she shed so I've been cleaning, purging, and re-organizing as I moved things out to the new space. I have been out there a few times to work on pages and I think I like how I have it all organized so far, so mostly it'll stay the way it is. I need (ok, want) a new printer, and will need to figure out where that will go but other than that things are good. I took several boxes of stuff to Goodwill, and several to another charity resale type place. I usually donate to schools but since it's summer, there wasn't anywhere to take it and I didn't want it sitting around all summer. I'm sure there will be more... LOL

My list would include about 90% of the things mentioned and be 7 more pages so I'll just say that and call it good!! LOL
I am like the others who have said I don't begrudge others liking this or that, nor do I care if they hate things that I like, you do you, I do me, we just get along like adults. But some people are waaaaaaaaaay over the top extra!! LOL

I will NEVER understand all of the hate behind some people. WHY does it matter so much who people love? I couldn't care less what you (the general "you") do in your home.
I mean, if I was a carpet salesperson and you came in to buy a rug to hang on your ceiling, why would I care? I would still sell it to you because that is my JOB. What you do with it after you pay and leave my store is your business!!

First, I'm so sorry that you have to deal with all of this!! Also that you have attorney fees to deal with!!
Knowing that the thousands of dollars he has paid (and will continue to pay until everyone is back where they belong) is a bit of a comfort on the financial part at least...
I am pretty sure I commented up thread but I'm too lazy to go find it so I'll just say that at the cemetery I work, a very large one in southeast Iowa, it is fairly expensive to do all that he has done (disinter, reinter, move the headstones, etc) and to have to go back and pay for it to all be done again would be the same amount because it is essentially the same work.
Of course, none of that takes any of the heartache out of it. I hope it's resolved soon so that your relatives can go back to resting in peace.

Something no one has mentioned is impeachment. I think that if a candidate has been impeached during their time in public office, whether "convicted" or not, they should NOT be allowed to run for public office ever again. Period.
Now, there's also that pesky word "indicted". I'm sorry, I just feel like there is no room for criminals who have been charged (let's face it the government is full of non-charged ones) to be leaders in our country or communities.
