I'm so sorry for your loss.
I work in the office of a huge cemetery. We are also classified as an arboretum. We have a lot of hills and curves and it is really a beautiful place. We encourage walkers. That said, we also encourage those walking to take a different path if there is a funeral or a family visiting. It's big enough, there are plenty of other ways they can go.

I'd love to see her pay stub. Is she getting paid for all of this? And if so, how? Did she have that much PTO? How come no one else has caught all of this? Is your boss tap dancing around the whole subject when others(like people who keep having to be re-scheduled) not notice? I dunno... I think there's something else going on here besides her being completely incompetent for the job, something with him.
I SO hope you hear soon about the other job!!

UGH!! I do!! I got her cap & gown yesterday too. It's getting more real that my BABY is almost an adult!! ACK!! Our situation is a little different in that she "graduated" early. She finished in January. She moved to college already. She is attending a Community College about 90 miles from home. She was coming home every weekend and working at her job here but she has found a job up there so she hasn't been home in several weeks. I have seen her though since she lives near the city where I have to take my Mom for appointments. She is miserable in her living arrangement so we're trying to figure that part out.

What I hate is that the losers don't get to keep their money. 2nd place gets $2000, and 3rd place gets $1000.

I would love a line like that for my memories of summer camp (I don't have photos so haven't attempted it yet with what is out there.) Manufacturers need to get out of their same old theme, different year rut... like all soccer lines being black, lime green, and orange, don't they? YES!!! To be fair, I have noticed a few new "themes" coming out, so maybe there's hope!? LOL Maybe I'll find contact info for some of the manufacturers and shoot them an email...

I WISH someone would do a summer camp line... checking in, group activities, cabins, bunks, councilors, cafeteria food, evening programs, etc.
It's not the same as the other camping stuff that's out there. My kids have never slept in tents or RVs for summer camp.
I know I could grab things from the camping stuff that is out there (bonfires, smores, trail walking, etc.) but it would be so much easier if someone would just do a whole line all in one place.
Just me daydreaming...

I have spent waaaaay too much time today reading threads about trimmers!! LOL
I do cards & scrapbook. I have tried just about every Fiskars out there and they just don't "do" it for me anymore. I am using the Stampin' Up! trimmer now, and I'm not crazy about it either.
Sooo... what say the Peas??

Besides the pants issue... the "jerseys", and I use that term very loosely, are just as hideous!! The logos have been made smaller, and the names on the backs have also shrunk.

My inner monologue each time I come back to this thread is what is the size of the elephant giraffe bureau. At first reading I pictured a 2 drawer ‘bureau with the legs and the trunk, kind of the size of a night table. but since then I’m arguing that that isn’t accurate because that’s a night table not a bureau so since then im vacillating between a 3 drawer wide bureau, a 4 drawer wide bureau, or a 5 drawer tall narrow bureau like a lingerie dresser. I keep coming back to the 3 drawers wide but then doubt myself. Well, great! Now I'm doubting too!! LOL I pictured 5 drawer tall, FWIW. But, as I was reading your descriptions of the other sizes, I could "see" them too. This is all fascinating to me! I truly thought that it was just a thing, and everyone could "see" things that way. Most of what everyone has said is how I am as well. But, add to that tinnitus. I have such a tough time describing it that I really had no idea that everyone didn't "hear" the constant sound that I have in my head. The best way I've found to describe it is when you hold a big conch shell up to your ear, and you "hear the ocean", that is the sound that is always there for me. Sometimes it seems to go away because of the other noises around me, but it's always there.

She doesn’t need to be in Australia until Friday. She can do her transpacific flying right after the parade. News said she can get there by Friday AM. She has a right to be there now. Players often have their GF’s and SO’s with them. But, is it the wise and safe thing to do?? That’s why I used the word “should”. She can obviously do what she wants but I think it would be classier of her to stay away and let all the focus be on the team for their season and win. This, exactly!!

DH and I are currently ill with Covid. I’m on day 7, with no fever the last two days. I’m still testing positive. He is on day 12, no fever for last 7 days, and he is still testing positive. This whole thing is so weird and different for everyone. Thankfully we are retired and do not need to worry about work…. I’m feeling good enough to be out doing a few things, but I’m not going anywhere, except for maybe a car ride with DH. Thanks honey for giving me Covid! 🙄 From what I understand, you can be completely symptom free and test positive for weeks after. I've had it twice, no fever either time. Chills, fatigue, headache, cough, stuffiness in my sinuses, and sore throat were my main things... just like with a bad cold. The only difference is, it came and went in about 6 days where a cold lingers for a couple of weeks usually.

ALL of these are rhetorical questions... mostly because there really is no answer...
WHO would have taken care of the baby once it was born for the time that it did live? Would the TX government pay the hospital bills? If Mom had died, would they have taken over raising her other children? Would they provide the income that she brought to the family? Would they have paid for her funeral? For her kids' educations? Not likely.
And… honestly… what happened to HIPPA(or whatever the letters are, you all know what I meant)? Why did anyone even find out that the baby was non-viable? If her doctor had told her the condition of the baby, and she chose to find a different doctor or get a second opinion, that doctor should have been bound by HIPPA to not disclose any information about her. I know they are supposed to report any illegal things but that wouldn't have been illegal.
I don't know, just thinking out loud I suppose. Either way, both of the situations discussed here are heartbreaking and wrong.

I have done a lot of moving in my lifetime. In my current situation, if I chose to move, I'd likely have to do it alone. All of our family is here, we both have jobs we like, the cost of living isn't too bad (Iowa).
I think your "Pros" out number your "Cons" in your situation.

My son is also Celiac and, contrary to what some people experience, he does not have to be overly concerned about cross contamination. He just avoids the visible gluten without a problem. You could be a wonderful SIL and make a small batch of lasagna for her using meatless sauce. I'll bet that would be a wonderful and much-appreciated surprise. We do things like that for my son and he is always so happy to be able to eat a version of what others are having. It is a nice surprise, but also could cause her distress, and ultimately make her pretty sick if she is not lucky enough to not have to be concerned. Celiac affects people so differently. For example, there are celiacs who have to worry about even things like shampoo & make-up. And on the other side, there are some who never have any issues but it's still doing the damage to their intestines.

Does it have to be lasagna? Could you make a tomato sauce and use GF noodles. Make a couple of layers with mozzarella, Romano, and parm. And bake it. If you use pre- shredded cheese, use brand name and check labels that cornstarch is used, not wheat product, for the non-clumping agent. It’s safer to shred the cheese yourself. Recently GF and I would be super appreciative of the effort. ETA: Rummo is good. Barilla is the best. Haven’t seen anything beyond spaghetti noodles though. While this is a wonderful thought, it's best not to actually try to cook anything in your own kitchen (pre-packaged is safer). Cross contamination is a big thing for Celiacs. It is shocking the extent you have to go to to make things safe for someone with Celiac. My DD has it, we found out when she was 14. We had to replace cooking utensils, mixers, pots & pans, you name it. Even cooking in a pot/pan that has had a gluten-y food in it could cause a reaction, no matter how clean (you think) it is. Gluten "hides" in scratches, cracks, etc. Just something to keep in mind.
