I do use cardstock frequently, but I don't pay attention to the weight unless it's something that will be cut with an electronic cutting machine. Note I included the description of (traditional) cardstock to distinguish it from cardstock-weight pattern paper (e.g. 49 & Market, Carta Bella) & pattern paper weight solids (e.g. Echo Park Solids), which I've noticed some scrappers also refer to as cardstock.

Thanks for your responses. I'm not the target audience for 49 & Market aesthetic, so nothing from this release is added to my wish list.

In general, I am not a fan of doodlebug....because of the smiley faces on the majority of the products. ... I wish Doodlebug would get away from putting a face on everything. ... ... I'd love their collections if they didn't have smiley faces on everything. ... ... Yeah, the smiley Covid virus does not appeal to me ... I like the colours but have to agree the faces are not my thing either. It appears to be common feedback.

Thanks for your participation in the poll & responses. Although the industry promotes FOMO (e.g. Inked has become an empire based on it), I personally don't experience it. Supplies are often not reordered/restocked due to the frequency of new releases, yet it's a "copycat" industry where multiple manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon & sell their versions of popular/successful themes/color schemes/icons/etc.

I'm new to this company and I don't need to look.. but I did.. haha I really love the Krafty Garden... I feel once I start buying this brand it's going to end up like my Chatterbox and October Afternoon stash. I have it and I haven't used it. I keep hoarding it.. In addition to this April release, check out 49 & Market's releases from earlier this calendar year available in stores now: January & March. HTH, & happy shopping!

... Although I am a little surprised about this release, somehow I didn't think they were having any more scrapbooking releases, but maybe just this one and then no more while they are on their break? Note Pinkfresh revealed its February & March releases - Making the Best of It on 1/31 (linked/discussed HERE), The Simple Things on 2/1 (linked/discussed THERE), & Picture Perfect on 2/7 (linked/discussed in this thread) - prior to announcing the pause on 3/4 (see this thread). HTH.

I can't say that I am overly drawn to the ochre collection, as it is not a favourite colour of mine ... This colour has found its way into a lot of collections, and I especially think the frames, acetate, and ephemera stackers would be versatile for combining with other lines. ... Agreed; this color is popular in & will coordinate with many recently released collections (e.g. fall, spring, travel, retro).

Do you use traditional cardstock (i.e. heavyweight/at least 80 lb/216 gsm, smooth or textured, solid colors) when creating layouts? TIA.

Do you have a "fear of missing out" (FOMO) regarding papercrafting (e.g. shopping, classes, crops)? Please share your perspectives. TIA.

I exclusively scrapbook & don't create special projects (e.g. October/December Daily, Day/Week in the Life), so I'm always working on layouts (theoretically, since I'm both left-brained/creative-challenged & a S-L-O-W scrapper).

Did you watch her Friday Night Live (FNL) where she explains this new release and shows all the products? Much better than I initially thought. I’ll be getting some of it. Going to be sold on an end aisle at Joann in May. Thanks for sharing. The repackaged release makes more sense, given it'll also be available at a big box store.

... What icons immediately get your attention? ... In addition to stripes, plaids, & other classic patterns, I look for sparkles, asterisks, & stars on papers, stencils, stamps, & dies. ... Have you ever bought an embellishment pack because there were just a couple images in it you had to have? ... No; I usually skip embellishment packs due to themed icons & trite sentiments that I will never use.

Seeing this release makes me feel the same way I felt when I saw everyone wearing 90’s clothes again. It’s that “Oh. This is a thing again” thought that’s making me face the fact that I’m getting old 😆. Think of yourself not as old, but wiser or a guru, if you prefer.

Thanks, I must have missed that. IIRC past VB collections have offered 12x12 papers both individually/by the sheet & as a collection/pad.

None; I prefer the versatile, non-wonky/symmetrical/geometric icons (e.g. stars, sparkles, asterisks, hearts, arrows).

TFS, although it's sad news for the industry.
JoAnn was purchased by a private equity firm in 2011 that continued to control the company after its IPO (initial public offering) in 2021. Despite living in the largest city in the state (& 14th largest in the country), my JoAnn stores are fabric-focused with only a couple papercrafting aisles (& the paper racks at one location are covered in plastic when it rains because its roof leaks). The closest JoAnn that is a designer destination is a 3-hr commute (one way), & I dislike American Crafts pattern paper brands anyway, so I rarely shop at JoAnn. For example, my last purchase was neutral cardstock during a 10/$2 sale in May 2021!

My dd was trying to make paper last weekend, we ended up in the ER (she cut her finger on the blender.) Making paper from [other paper] is not high on my want to do list:P Ouch! Hope your daughter is on the mend.

No Ma’am! Making Paper — I can’t even handle the paper that I already own. Who thought this was a good idea?! The mess alone would cripple me. While my philosophy is there's no such thing as too much paper, I also have zero interest in making it!
