We loved The Tender Bar on Prime. Ben Affleck was superb with such a great part. Directed by George Clooney.

Righteous Gemstones Season 2 starts tomorrow. Wildly inappropriately funny! Woo hoo! I didn’t realize that. I bust a gut laugh at that show. It has both John Goodman and Walton Goggins - two of my favorite actors.

This is Perseus, aka Percy. He is 13, and the noisiest cat we’ve ever had. He demands lots of attention, loves to snuggle, and has the loudest purr. His sister passed away unexpectedly last spring and we both miss her.
We just had our floors redone. This morning I heard this weird banging sound and echoed yowling. He had gotten into the furnace air return where a cover was still off. He was racing around under the floors in the hvac ducts and popped up to get out, but that vent cover was on. He sat there in kitty dungeon howling until I rescued him. Such an asshole.

Really? ![???](//storage2.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) I know some people aren't too trusting of the CDC as of late, however they estimate 12,000 – 52,000 deaths per year from seasonal flu (for the years 2010 to 2020). Source: CDC Seasonal Flu Information
Edited to add: I don't remember adding in that emoji but somehow it feels appropriate! Even on the high side it isn’t hundreds of thousands. He’s off by a factor of 10.

You are an incredibly brave and strong woman. You're opening the box from a position of strength and on your own terms. I'm sending you giant hugs and healing thoughts.

I put everything away a couple days after Christmas. My house is a construction zone and I had to move everything out of the downstairs for floor refinishing this week. I’m hiding upstairs until they’re done with the floors.

She has three kids, a baby who doesn't sleep, takes care of everything in the house. There's a snowstorm in the area and she must be exhausted. Rather than go to 'psychotic break' in your mind, please try to think that she's just tired and busy. You've worked up stories in your mind that you don't even know are true. She told you she was ok, please believe her. Give yourself a story that has compassion and grace instead of worry and anxiety. Rather than panicky messages, send her messages that you love her and you know she can handle this because she's a strong woman. That you have her back.

Yes, I do all of our laundry. I love to put it away -- all the socks and undershirts lined up in the drawer make me smile.

It's just DH and I now, and I do everything. But when the kids were home, they used to do their own. I love folding clothes, so if I ever found clothes in the dryer I'd fold them. Laundry is one chore I really enjoy doing.

I like the Virtuoso (previously known as Dr. Oetker) four cheese pizza. I have it for lunch now and then. It has a crunchy crackery crust.

We have a center-entrance colonial. The kitchen is in the back. I like the big bay window where the table sits. It looks out into the backyard gardens and woods. It has a door to the basement that leads to the garage. Also next to a door to the porch and deck. It also opens into the family room and dining room, making it central to everything.

I just spent an hour emptying out my hall closet. Up and down stairs the entire time. Floors are getting refinished starting Monday. DH just asked if I wanted to go to the gym , so today is definitely a win in the exercise column. I made my food plans for the day, so that’s good also. Now to just follow them.

Height didn’t really register to me as a requirement. Personality and being at a similar level of intelligence (emotionally and academically) is important to me. Having money isn’t a requirement, but having similar financial sense in setting goals, saving, and spending habits would be critical. I would absolutely hate arguing over money.

Great thread. I almost never open the glove box unless I need to look up something about the car. I keep the car manual, registration, inspection receipt, flashlight, and tire gauge. My kids may have shoved things in there -- but I haven't looked lately. They tend to put napkins and ketchup from eating in my car. I never eat in my car.
The center console has charger wires, spare masks, disposable gloves, pen and pad, bandaids, and the car wash coupons.
I keep my gloves in the car door.

I subscribe to The Economist, Boston Globe, WaPo, and WSJ. I can’t stand the WSJ opinions. They seem so poorly thought out. But I like to read a variety of viewpoints, so for now I keep it.

Post office determines the location of mailboxes- not homeowners. I learned that a few years ago. Glad to see you found a solution. It's interesting to me to see how different all these rules are in other places. Here in my part of Northern Virginia the post office has nothing to do with where you put a mailbox if you live in a private home. Mostly we have mailboxes attached to our house near the front door, and it's just whatever mailbox you like. Some people have mail slots in their front doors. And if you have a fenced yard with a dog who might be outside at delivery time you can buy whatever mailbox you want and stick it out front outside the fence. No particular location as long as the carrier knows it's yours and not your neighbors. However, all our mail is delivered on foot, not by mail truck, so maybe that makes the difference? When we built our house, we put our mailbox in. So long as it was on the right side of the road for the delivery truck, it didn't matter. Ours went across the street, and we placed it across from our driveway. It has our street number on it so the carrier knows it's ours. OP, how childish and rude to place poop under your truck. Seriously, how hard is to ask that the truck be off the sidewalk if it causes an issue. And if it doesn't, why does he care so much? My friend lives in a town where they ticket cars that block the sidewalk at all. It's a very high density area, and the town wants the sidewalks clear.

I’m taking them down today. All our downstairs floors are being sanded and refinished next Monday. I have to have the place emptied out by then. Usually I wait until DS’s birthday next week, but he left yesterday. So the tree is almost down now.

The tree is in a large zippered bag -- it's stored under the cellar steps. Everything else is stored in plastic bins on shelves in the basement.
