This is on my list of things to try this winter. I have a needlepoint project in progress (my first) and would like to try this next. Does anyone have recommendations of where to start or kit suggestions? I am browsing Amazon at the moment. I have 2 local shops that I'll check out this week. Thanks!

I'm a third grade teacher and I vote mention it. You could email it in a very similar tone that you used here - you don't want to be a helicopter and hesitate to bring it up; hope the girls can move forward on a fresh start. I wouldn't think twice about receiving that as a teacher and would be glad to have the heads up.

I just encountered a situation at TJ Maxx that shouted "ask the peas!"... Would you have said anything?
A woman picked up an OPI polish in the checkout line. Opened it. Painted her thumbnail. Closed the bottle, put it back. Picked up another bottle. Painted all 10 of her daughter's nails as the line moved along. Closed it. Put it back.
What, if anything, would you have said?

Oh, hello! I thought you typed smallest table and see now that you wrote largest. Time for bed for me! Dine on, Giants!

What's wrong with the table ad? One ' after a number is feet, '' is inches.

I think the OP's daughter is looking for a novel-length text (as in not a magazine; not an essay for publication in a magazine) that is written with a particular point of view (or comparing multiple points of view)/call to action on a particular topic. How about...
Silent Spring (Rachel Carson) Fast Food Nation Malala's book? Nickeled and Dimed Freakonomics?

I'm hoping for some suggestions. I am a teacher and my school has a heavy push on badge-wearing this year... I'd like to make my own lanyard with this style of beads included. It would not be all this style bead. My questions are: - What the heck are these things called? - What type of cord would you use? - Any suggestions of what style spacers to use?
- Any other advice on making a lanyard/badge holder?
Thanks so much! Taylor

Moving Comfort fan here too. I like the Maia. It's also produced by Brooks (the running company). Exact same style - I order online from Dick's and they have come with both packaging.

Does anyone else remember the mega-thread from the old board that had a similar title and turned into a pregnancy announcement? Is that pea with us? That baby would have to be about 8 by now!

Try Talbots. Their big sale is going on right right. Actually, now that I think about it, are you near Cincinnati? (I promise I'm not a spreadsheet keeper - not sure why that rings a bell?)... If so, I scored big time on sleeveless shirts at the Monroe Talbots outlet this time last year. Like $4 a pop and they're truly sleeveless - perfect width for school.

I have a few options. One is a North Face backpack that I've had since 2006 and is still going strong... It was a Christmas gift when I was in high school, but I'm now going into my 5th year of teaching and I end up using it for a few stretches of every school year - especially around report card time when I seem to be carrying more back and forth.
I also have a Longchamp Le Pilage tote that I LOVE. It is great because it looks more polished than the backpack but holds up well. I can easily get my laptop, a binder, and an Erin Condren notebook in there with room to spare for a book or two.
Lastly, I have a few 31 utility totes that have been gifts over the years. I wish they zipped, but the pockets are nice. If you google "31 teacher bag file box", you'll see some great set ups.

Ha! Did you go to Miami? Not any AC in existence, back in the day. Then they overheated the dorms in the winter. We wore boxers and tanks all winter long and kept the windows open, even when we had snow. Ha! I went to Miami. The hot weather was tough. Think about a standing fan. It looks like we have a whole crew who sweated it out at Miami! Too bad I didn't sweat off all those bagels ;-).

We're quite entertained over here... There was a Rattata in my ice cream bowl, and we may have to go for an extra walk this evening to try to take over the gym down the street! I thought this NPR article was cute! Taylor

I have a ton of them. I really don't want to hold on to them for months and take them 10 at a time to Office Max. Staples will only give credit if you've spent $30 on ink at Staples in the past month, which I haven't done (usually pick it up at Target). Has anyone tried one of the online sell-back sites?

Did anyone see their vouchers from a phone? I tried logging in and didn't see any - not sure if it's due to the mobile site or me being out out luck :-).

This would be my first "grown up" (read: not IKEA) furniture purchase and I'm wondering if I should be expecting to be able to negotiate or not. I'm considering a chair and ottoman with upgraded fabric if that makes a difference... Any stories or suggestions? Thanks!

No tie, unless he wants to do a bow tie. He could do a skinny tie/no jacket, but if others are wearing jackets, I get that.
Also, I'm sorry to see some peas being rude about the price of the shirt.

I was 31 before the lightbulb went off that ALL eggs aren't dead baby chicks. I was afraid my whole life that one day I would crack open an egg that was taken? stopped? who knows! too late and I would find a dead baby chick. I was quite embarrassed when I realized that hens will lay eggs regardless of the presence of a rooster. You need a rooster to fertilize an egg for it to become a chick. I just never gave it much thought! Still...there's a part of me that's afraid someone will get a fertilized egg mixed into my dozen! Well. I learned something new today! Sitting here thinking "Oh... Oh... Duh!" as I read your post.

I am also in the "30 pounds need to go" club. I started logging again on my fitness pal yesterday and am already feeling a bit of a mental shift. For me, water is one of the biggest difference makers. I am planning to jump on the health threads here as well - I often lurk but don't post too often.

I would tip them each $10-$20, depending on how much they were delivering, how many stairs, weather issues, how well they did the job, what they did with the old stuff, if I asked for them to move things around more than once, etc. I am sure that is over tipping based on other pea responses, but it's what feels right to me. Ditto this for me!

I scored an outdoor love seat at a garage sale yesterday. It's the perfect size for my space, but the cushions are shot. After much hunting, I realized that replacing with the same size cushions was going to be a major struggle due to how deep it is. I finally found some at Target that will work. All along, I was thinking I wanted navy. I got them home and now it has crossed my mind that they may be hotter than other options due to absorbing sun...
The same cushions come in beige and kind of a seafoam green. Would you keep the navy or swap them out? Do you think it'll make that much difference?
Thanks! Taylor
