i didn't change my name but technically, i got a name. my birth certificate has no first name on it and it was never updated to reflect the name i have now. i saw my birth certificate for the first time when i was in my mid-40's. imagine my surprise when i saw there was no first name on it. so many questions......LOL I don't have a first name on my original birth certificate either! I wonder if I could suddenly change my first name without any fuss. I am listed as baby of Mrs Smith. My parents hadn't named me yet . I've always been surprised I can actually use it as security - it is an old folded, tatty piece of paper from a hospital in Calcutta that burned down several years after I was born- but no- one has questioned it so far! I just watched the first episode today- just because it came up as suggested. I quite enjoyed it but wanted to know if it is a continuous show or are they separate episodes?? Wasn't sure as the ending was a bit ambiguous. My husband took a phone call and missed it so I don't want to go to episode 2 if he needs to watch the first one.
Hope my question makes sense!

… if I had the time to go through all of them and find the layouts which have letters or other bits and bobs that have fallen off when I was putting them in and fix them! ( I have a little bowl of all these bits and pieces- I know which layouts they are from but " I think grandson was 2.. or was it 3? or is it a family album?) I would like to make a master list of which layouts are where. I just spent 30 minutes looking through several scrapbooks to find 4 pictures of grandson with planes for a facebook post. My albums are done by category mostly - family 2000-2002 but a list would help me find layouts quickly. I often want an old picture for happy birthday greetings on Facebook and just cant always remember how old kids were for certain layouts! And yes- better photos of myself! Cropping helps but it would be nice to have photos where I look half decent. Corinne

How very coincidental! I just saw a post on facebook from an Irish friend telling a colleague that raspberries are on sale right now and she would be making Eton Mess tonight! I have never heard of this dessert before and now twice in 1/2 an hour- perhaps I should try making it! Corinne

I'm not seeing any 50% signs anywhere? I don't subscribe anymore but do have a nice size wishlist and use a credit boost to buy files whenever there is a sale.
Maybe I will try putting something in my cart and see if the discount comes up there.

Oops! Never mind , its showing up for me now!

Our grandson- aged 20, has lived with us for all his life. (with my daughter too!) He sat us down a few weeks ago to announce that he would be moving in with his girlfriend of 5 years so they could spend more time together before he leaves - is just waiting for his official acceptance letter into the airforce. He seemed a little surprised that our first question was when?? He dropped by last weekend, stayed for lunch and then proceeded to hang around talking to us for the next few hours! We had been shopping/doing housework all morning and we're old, so were really planning on lazing around watching tv and having a nap. Usually we always had conversation at dinner, but otherwise he was always off to work, on his computer or going out. We were falling asleep on the couch and he still couldn't get the hint! AND for the first time ever he actually responds and sends messages to us through Messenger! He's a good kid and we will miss him terribly when he moves interstate but he has assured us that he "will always come home for Christmas!" It's so nice when teenagers realise how much they actually appreciate you! Corinne

I've just started listening to The Teacher's Pet but I'll add this to my list. Is this the Australian one? About the PE teacher who moved his 16 yr old student girlfriend into the house a few days after his wife disappeared? ( and claimed she left her 2 children behind and ran off and joined a religious cult?) He has finally been arrested this past week. It is all over our news. Hope they can prove he is responsible. One daughter was on a 60 minutes show (?) - 1 supports him still but this one is having doubts. How difficult for them- they were so young and he is the only parent they have ever known. Corinne

So lucky to see a sea turtle! We have snorkelled in Fiji and Hawaii- never spotted one in the water. ( have swum with reef sharks and did have an amazing experience snorkelling over 2 magnificent manta rays though)
We live in Australia and have not been to the GBReef yet. Considering my husband has been diving for over 30 years we must make plans to go there- SOON!

I used to be an Avon lady when I was 16 and again in the 20's. I grew up in a house that bought everything Avon. I still have the plastic case that used to hold these lipsticks- actually has little letter stamps in it- fit perfectly. People on 2peas were talking about using bullet cases but we don't have them much here so I used the Avon case. Sadly, Avon has closed down in Australia very recently. My Avon lady stocked up on LOTS of stuff and is making a small fortune selling it off at cost price. Sadly for me most of what she has left is nothing I want. Corinne I still get my Avon fix- I have a vintage Avon board on Pinterest and still love looking at all the things we bought over the years. Who can forget Peach Blossom fragrance when you were 11!

Yes, Core'dinations (don't know where they got that spelling from; it always bothered the English teacher in me). I still have almost a whole pad of it. Time to break it out for the holidays! Thanks for the reminder! I have a whole pad of the Chocolate Box line somewhere- must search for it. The outer colour is brown but when you distress it the core colours are pink. mint , blue I think. I remember wanting it so badly I found someone who sold from home and had to go pick it up somewhere (quite expensive too)- and of course have never used it EVEN ONCE!!! Corinne

Just saw episode 1 the other day. We got sidetracked by another Netflix series called Damnation. Oh, we just started that one too! It reminds me of Godless which we came upon by accident earlier this year. I have just started watching Netflix and am always on the lookout for good series. Corinne

I live in Australia and it is compulsory to vote in major elections- however, not so in local council elections.
My husband became an Australian citizen 2 yrs ago, joined his party of choice and has helped out local member with handing out pamphlets on the day and scrutineering at the ballots later. I have never voted in council elections even though they just require you to fill out the form and return it in the pre-paid envelope. Often had good intentions but forgot to mail them.
Due in part to all the political threads I read here, for the first time ever, everyone in my household filled out the ballot and voted for our local members! Actually took the time to read their bios and check them out to make our choices.
We sometimes forget how lucky we are to have the opportunity to vote and will make sure our vote counts in future elections.

I really like the Charter School Cardigan from ModCloth. I have this in grey, honey, black and a beautiful olive green. I am intending to buy more next winter. They match beautifully with so many of my dresses from there. However, I did write to them and request they produce short sleeve versions! I live in Australia and love short sleeve cardigans over sleeveless dresses. At the moment I buy some from Millers- cheap but not long lasting. And it's a little bit of an "older lady shop" and I would prefer plainer ones. So if anybody in Australia knows where I can buy nice short sleeve cardigans, please let me know! Corinne

I love my Carl trimmer. But, nothing will ever replace my beloved Making Memories trimmer. I had three of them over the years, one because it was pink and I loved it. They just wore out. I am still hanging on to mine! Quite a few years ago the plastic ruler bit broke and although it only cost maybe $6? it was going to cost over $30 to mail to Australia. I posted my predicament on the old Two Peas site and a lovely scrapbook shop owner from Western Australia offered to order it in for me. She also included a replacement blade with the ruler, mailed it to me and refused to accept any payment. Since then the plastic ruler is a bit chipped at one end. I have sharpied the numbers back on and only last weekend I dropped it while taking it to a crop and broke the black plastic bit exposing the sharp metal edge. HOWEVER, my husband gaffer taped it back together and I intend to be super careful taking it out. I still have the replacement blade to use yet!! Corinne

Yes, me! I was diagnosed with Pemphigus Vulgaris 15 years ago. It is often put together with your diagnosis as they share many similarities in symptoms and treatment. It first appeared as open sores on my chest and back and my Dr first thought it was impetigo. One of my students had it and as I gave him medication daily, it was possible I picked it up from him. Several courses of antibiotics and nearly 3 months later- in agonizing pain, sores worse and now spread to my scalp.
Back to Drs and just happened to mention that the inside of my mouth was really sore and skin peeling. ( I had thought this was just a side effect from going to the dentist previously). He jumped out, got a huge medical book out of the hallway cupboard, dusted it off, went to the index and without a minute or two had a photo of a patient with sores exactly like mine. Next day I saw a specialist who took a biopsy but immediately put me on Prednisolone which began healing my skin straight away. Did make me very puffy unfortunately.( still have trouble losing weight - am close to 20kg heavier than I was before)
I have been on Imuran - an anti rejection drug for over 13 years, now down to 50mg per day. I get a bone scan every few years, yearly skin checks, (at a higher risk of skin cancer) and consider myself very lucky.
As I know no-one with this condition I did recently join a Facebook group- Pemphigus Vulgaris ( they do include your diagnosis also). A lot of people are really quite ill and are undergoing some new treatment which seems to consist of infusions-Rituximab. I will be seeing my specialist at the end of November and plan on asking him about this. Last year my Dr nearly took me off my medication but then discovered a few lesions on my scalp and decided that it would be better to stay on a low dose. He was worried that if it came back strong it may be harder to heal.
So.… I do use a lotion called Elecon for my scalp when it is particularly bad, do use a special shampoo with no parabens but am very lucky (touch wood!) that skin on my body is pretty good. Sometimes little lesions appear but disappear within a day or two. I do have a tendency to get run down and feel tired but generally put up with the pain as it is low level. I wear a hat whenever I am outside and take care to be under cover from the sun. That said, I live in Australia and holiday in Fiji regularly- just use my common sense. ( always go to Fiji in their winter!)
It is such a rare disease - 1 in 100,000. Often occurs in people over 40, Indian, Mediterranean or Jewish descent. I had just turned 40 and am of Indian/Burmese descent. I have asked all my Indian relatives if they know of anyone in the extended family that may have it but no-one so far. Oh and I thought I would be scarred forever but my skin healed wonderfully.
Sorry for the epic post! I hope you are starting to get better already- prednisolone was like magic for me. Every case is so individual- I am guessing you are seeing a specialist. Be prepared for the side effects but the truth is that is an incurable disease as such, BUT can be controlled. It may take some time to find what drugs and doses work for you. Sending you very positive thoughts.

I just noticed that is by Becky Fleck? Is she the sketch book Becky from page maps? Photoplay paper is a bit hard to find in Australia- I had to order the Shark one from Ebay. I do like this cat one though- I don't mind the mix of colours as most of my cat photos are taken in random places, no fancy posed photos! Corinne

This is an interesting thread! I don’t think I would ever use one of these I mean is it a blender? I haven’t made a daiquiri in years! I also don’t like lemonade all that much! It is like a food processor, blender, cooker in one. You can make a risotto for example and it will chop the onion and garlic, stir the rice as it cooks etc. and you can leave it. Only one bowl. Some friends who like to make everything without additives from scratch make peanut butter, almond meal, sauces, stocks etc. It’s a very expensive all in one appliance. I personally wouldn’t buy one but I know lots of people that have them and use it every night. Lots of people I know with small children have them and swear by them for making everything! My sister bought one and I went to the demo. I was actually surprised by how good it seemed and it was not a hard sell- just 3 people plus my sister who was definitely buying one. She has 3 teenagers who love to cook and they use it all the time- also they eat a lot of vegan and other healthy type foods and say it is much cheaper to buy things in bulk and make their own bread, dips, desserts and main meals. I was tempted but have a small kitchen. They are about $2000 Australian dollars I think. I , too am amazed that people in the USA have not discovered them yet!!

I have. Everything was packed well and posted quickly. International shipping was expensive but that would be my only hesitation in ordering from them again. Am I right in thinking you live in Melbourne? I'm from Adelaide and am wondering how expensive. I just went to their site and saw so many sentimental papers I would love to buy! Those Wild Asparagus kits and all the other little bits and pieces. Corinne

When I first started scrapping I only worked on one or two (if it was a double page) LO's at a time. I would finish them before starting more LO's. Then I figured it was more efficient if I did the same task for multiple pages at one time. For example - pull and decide cardstock and embellishments for multiple LO's, cut titles for 6-8 LO's during one cutting session, print journaling for 3-4 pages at one time, etc. As a result I currently have 20-25 pages in various stages of completion. I keep all the elements for 1-2 LO's in sturdy Cropper Hopper Paper Files. I store them on my bookcase divided up into to three groups - 1. ready to adhere, 2. needs something else done (cut title, re-order pictures, print journaling, decide embellishments), and 3. have pictures pulled but needs decisions made (which cardstock to use, decide the LO, which embellishments to use, etc.). By having pages ready to adhere I can quickly pull them and the supplies needed when a crop rolls around. This is me! I go scrapbooking on a consecutive Friday and Saturday evening 6-12 once a month. I sort out paper, cardstock photos and take along sketches to help me get started. I do most of my titles on my silhouette and journaling on the computer so this suits me best. I do have a reasonable pile of unfinished layouts- probably 20-30 but it works for me. They are all kept together in one basket but I do like your idea of putting them into specific groups re: journaling, titles, stamping etc. Corinne

We got married in Fiji two years ago (am actually here in Fiji right now, celebrating our anniversary!) It was just the two of us for the same reasons as you. We organised a celebrant through our resort. I paid a lot for our photographer- as no one was coming (and I scrapbook) I wanted to make sure our photos and video was amazing. I booked hairdresser/makeup artist based on internet reviews/facebook page with photos. I did google search wedding beach photos - particularly ones taken at our resort, so I had some ideas to list for our photographer. We were lucky- he was prepared to stay till after sunset so we had a great variety of photos. ( married at 3pm, due to tides- arrived to wedding on a bamboo raft!) There have been several weddings here since we have been here and all have been right on the beach, late afternoon. It is usually a bit windy then so I would think about the weather conditions for your location. We had great ideas of getting married on a little island out in the lagoon, but it so windy we changed our minds. (also, morning of the wedding, last minute decision to wear hair up in a messy style) Getting married in a place that has personal meaning to you is so lovely- we had been here 3 times before getting married and here we are again! Our ceremony was very simple but meaningful to us. Is there a special place for your wedding dinner? Oh we wrote in little cards ( with palm trees/turtle on them, bought at gift shop) on the day and gave them to each other before ceremony. You could even use postcards. And our wedding rings were placed in a Fijian bowl filed with sand and a tropical flower. I would put some photos in but it is saying the files are too big. Good luck planning your wedding and make sure you share your photos! Corinne

Mind Hunters- can't wait- have heard the new series starts in early 2019.
Hinterland- just finished this tonight - crime/drama set in Wales. My husband made me watch it at first so he could point out all the places he went as a child!
I really loved it- am a bit sad that it has ended. Each episode is about and an hour and a half, we have been watching one ( okay sometimes two or three!) each night.

I got engaged twice, married for the first time at 53. I had no intention whatsoever of wearing a "wedding dress" but after wandering into a bridal store to find a nice colourful cocktail dress, was coerced into trying on this dress and within 45 minutes ordered it for delivery and walked out the shop. I'm sure some people may have thought my dress "not suitable" - luckily I don't care! Our wedding was beautiful and everything about it celebrated us and our relationship- just the two of us, in our favourite holiday destination. Corinne

For me- Celine Dion - Because you loved me , mostly because my mum loved it and I used to for her slideshow at her funeral. It summed up the type of person she was and the lasting effect she left on us all. We also played In the arms of an angel by Sarah McLachlan - weird story. On our cruise in Fiji, amongst all the cheery tropical holiday music played on our little ship ( only 68 cruisers) this song was played twice. My mum lived in Fiji for a while and I always think of her when we go there .Even weirdly, the 2nd time I was sitting there chatting to an Indian girl when it came on and she mentioned how odd a choice of song it was. I mention she was Indian because that's my birthplace and my mum grew up there ( originally from Burma) Just strange little connections. I also love Ed Sheerans Supermarket flowers- such a simple but beautiful song. And I have always loved Everything I own ( played it lots during a sad breakup) and I have never known it was about his father. Also- In the Living Years- Mike and the Mechanics. Makes my think of my dad and how we weren't close for a few years but how we re-connected in his last few years. My sister downloaded a song called You can let go know Daddy on my ipad and we played it for him on our final visit. I can't bring myself to delete it but just cannot listen to it, even 4 years later. Corinne
