I don't have plans for any big purchases in the near future. Maybe Crop & Create if there are spots available in January. I have a tough time restraining myself from purchasing EVERYTHING this time of year. My mind and heart are busy saying YES! to purchasing gifts for others, while my credit card is sniveling in the corner whimpering NO! Most of the time I can hold myself in check b/c I know: 1) my family will probably give me cash or gc's to spend on scrappy goodness after the holiday 2) there is a chance that at least some of the things I want now will be on sale in the week after Christmas when I actually have my gc's in hand. The "devil" on one shoulder is holding you in check & your credit card in time out, while the (Paper)Angel on the other *whispers* There is also a chance that at least some of the things you want now will be sold out post-holidays! Remember "The best laid plans ... often go awry." - Robert Burns

I'm wondering if the fresh air collection will coordinate with hip hop hooray? The colors look similar Agreed. Both Fresh Air & Hip Hop Hooray appear to have a vanilla base & similar colors. Given its a popular color palette with Simple Stories, select pattern papers & embellishments from various collections would likely coordinate/match (especially if you're not opposed to mixing white & vanilla/off-white/cream)!

I'm in the southeastern US & also think hockey whenever "the Stanley Cup" is mentioned. It appears the reference was to the Drinks of Happiness Paper & Element Sticker sheet in the EP - My Best Life collection. Of course, the oversized reusable cups are adorned with flowers in compliance with the industry's current florals trend/obsession...ugh! I saw two cups on there, and from what I could tell, only one had flowers on it. It’s pink. As quoted, the poster "LOLed so hard at the Stanley Cup paper and sticker." It appears your comment is in regards to the linked sticker sheet only; note the orange tumbler has a floral accent, while the pink cup is unadorned. The pattern paper, also linked, features various colors of the oversized reusable tumblers, each embellished with a flower.

Um...are they stuck in the 2010's? With. Those smiley emjois are so 10 years ago as well as the black outline hearts. The phrase "Have a Nice Day" and the smiley faces are from the 1970s, as is one of the fonts used. ... It's my understanding both the phrase "Have A Nice Day," which was first used in a 1940s film, & the smiley face created by Harvey Ross Ball in 1963 were popularized in the 1960s...& still used today!

Winnie the Pooh! This line is adorable and I like it much better than another one that was recently released. ... For anyone interested & as artbabe noted, Reminisce - Winnie The Pooh was released earlier this year (discussed here & there). HTH.

Honestly, I love the Wizard of Oz collection! I have absolutely NO use or need for it, but I think it's great! The bright colors, the fact that it's a different theme, the originality of it! I won't buy any of it, but I think it's great that it's available. ... Ditto. I also find the bright/non-stereotypically feminine color palette, lack of florals, classic movie theme, etc. refreshing!

I love that there is a gender neutral baby collection but I don't really care for the muddy colours for any of the baby collections -and I don't need baby papers Same. I'm out of the loop, so the retro 1970s/1980s color palette (earthy brown, dark avocado green, mustard yellow, light teal, mauve, etc.) may be a current trend in baby bedding/clothing/etc.

... But I LOLed so hard at the Stanley Cup paper and sticker. When you wrote Stanley Cup, I immediately went to Hockey. Couldn't figure out what you meant, lol. And I even have teen girls. I guess kudos to EP for being on trend if not completely basic. ... ^^thank you for not making me feel alone there. I was desperately looking for anything hockey related! ... Wait. What? Don't see it. Which line is this in? Stanley Cup as in those huge reusable cups people use. Not hockey. Sorry. In Canada, if you say drinking from a Stanley Cup, these are the images that come to mind... ETA: Note the same orange oversized reusable tumbler embellished with a blue flower shown on the sticker sheet can also be found on/in Journaling 4x4 Cards Paper, Frames/Tags, & Ephemera.

... Why can't companies make non cutesy, non little kid school lines? ... ... school collection. A little disappointed to see the some of same old icons - apples, owls, analog alarm clock & a schoolhouse. ... ... EP - Off To School ... Sad to see so many vintage type icons for school. Gosh, when can we get up to date with this stuff? ... Agreed. It's baffling that annual school-themed collections never change: elementary-focused, vintage aesthetic, old-fashioned imagery/sentiments, etc.

Not sure... I was thinking of joining something subscriptionish so I get happy mail every month, but I am mostly a flat scrapper so it would have to be one that doesn't come with bulky stuff I wouldn't use... It doesn't help that most of the lines that are on the main sites/stores in the past year are not really my taste, so I when I want to shop I can't find much to buy... On the other hand, I don't need really more things! Even when I'm scrapping like crazy, it doesn't seem to make a dent and my stash is on the smaller side! Like you, I also don't subscribe to kits since I usually scrap flat layouts, dislike the current oversaturation of stereotypically feminine & floral in the industry, enjoy mixing/matching supplies, & have a healthy inventory (although it pales in comparison to rooms/spaces posted online).

The organizer on my primary work surface is a white Pottery Barn Kids Art/Craft Lazy Susan, bought 15+ years ago like this espresso one (not my image/listing). Check out Pottery Barn/Teen/Kids/Outlet, Container Store, Ikea, Michaels, Joann, HomeGoods/Marshals/TJMaxx, Staples, Target, etc. for destop/office storage (plus bath/cosmetics & kitchen/fridge/pantry organizers, metal planters, etc. that can be repurposed). HTH.

Well, I was laid off this morning, so in theory I guess I'm supposed to be in the freezer. I'm thinking maybe I'll have some time to actually sell some of the excess -- sets from event kits that I don't think I'm likely to use again, shopping mistakes from when I was a newbie and didn't necessarily yet understand my style or how to use/how I would like using various types of products. Then I could justify maybe doing some modest spending, right? The cooler if you will, instead of the freezer. But not the hot stove for me this "off-season".... (((hugs))) I'm sorry you are experiencing job loss. Please consider posting your unwanted papercrafting supplies on the 2Peas For Sale or Trade Sub-Board ( here).

That would be me- I fell for some of the Black Friday sales (Joann and ACOT). I'm finally receiving some of the items this week. I justify the spending because I received a big check from my parents' estate recently. I know my mom would have approved! <3 ETA- I mostly ordered paper pads from Joann and single sheets (a lot of clearance papers) from ACOT. I also checked out Michaels today, but didn't find anything I wanted. I've been keeping an eye out for other sales on scrappy sites, but haven't seen enough to make it worth paying for shipping. Not yet, anyway! Now if only I could get myself to start scrapping all those family photos I inherited! Please accept my condolences on the passing of your parents. Hope you fondly remember them while scrapping inherited photos with your new supplies! I also rarely find "enough to make it worth paying for shipping," given the stereotypically feminine & floral dominance of the industry (& the few exceptions often include an odd yellow that makes it equally unusable for me)...ugh!

As a spinoff of the Freezer thread for papercrafters on a self-imposed no to low spending period, anyone hope to spend more on the hobby this month &/or beyond due to increased disposable income/gift cards, interest in upcoming releases, creating/moving/changing workspace/room, or other reason(s)? TIA.

... Pink does NOT need to be in every single collection. I’d like some variety in color schemes. Agreed, & pink is/always has been my favorite color! ... this overly girly pink that is on almost every paper makes me skip the line or even the manufacturer. They make what sells though, so I don't think it will change. I am trying to find baby lines that don't have pink. Most of them do or they are the boy lines (that I do like), but the sayings don't work at all. A vicious cycle: Stereotypically feminine & floral is "what sells" because it's often the only product available for customers to purchase! Non-pink-dominant baby collections: Echo Park - Our Baby, which coordinates with both EP - Our Baby Girl & EP - Our Baby Boy Simple Stories - Boho BabyPhotoplay - Little One (ETA: still some available at SB.com, ACOT, etc.) ETA: 950nancy - see also the upcoming/January release EP - Special Delivery: Baby that coordinates with Baby Boy & Baby Girl (linked & discussed HERE)

I've grown more frustrated with the stereotypical feminine & floral domination of the industry regardless brand or theme (& the few exceptions often having an odd yellow-dominate color palette that is equally unusable for me). Hoping the industry gets out of its feminine/floral rut for 2024...

... The stare is going for the death penalty . I hope the prosecutor team is able to come up with an air tight case against those 3. It's widely reported the shooter has plead guilty & will testify about the couple's involvement to avoid the death penalty, so no "air tight [sic] case against" him is necessary. ETA: I think they have a lot of evidence. Let’s hope it is enough to convict them. ... For the sake of the deceased & accused's children, I hope it's proven that she was not involved. No child(ren) should have to process that dad was brutally murdered AND step-/mom masterminded the crime!

I would love to see your pages, and what paper brands work for you. While I appreciate your interest, I don't post/share my layouts. My style is simple, clean, linear, minimalist, & "magazine-ish," so I use pattern paper sparingly & few embellishments. I start each layout with a sheet of cardstock & primarily use classic patterns (e.g. stripes, plaids, dots). Currently, my favorite manufacturers are Bazzill, Echo Park, Simple Stories (non-vintage collections), & Pinkfresh (non-floral collections, especially IACB collaborations). I'm also grateful to still have supplies from defunct manufacturers (e.g. Chatterbox, KI Memories) in my inventory, since I find them more creative/diverse/versatile/usable & less themed/repetitive than recent releases.

Among my trend/brand dislikes: - Themed papers/embellishments (grateful for classic patterns on reverse sides & skip most embellishments) - Florals (which continue to abundantly bloom throughout most collections regardless theme or brand) - Non-archival & bulky embellishments (e.g. acrylic, wood, metal) - Papers with a glossy finish (see here) - Paper pads with gummy binding - Unsnipped die sets - Floating icons, scene, photorealistic, people, & detail/fussy cut patterns - Wonky patterns/handdrawn illustrations & scrawly fonts (e.g. Crate Paper style) - Faux mixed media, watercolor, distressing, etc. (e.g. 49 & Market) - Feminine/vintage/old-fashioned/frilly/floral aesthetic (e.g. many non-US brands) - American Crafts pattern paper brands (e.g. Paige Evans, Maggie Holmes), including cheap acrylic stamps, ink cubes, etc. - Inked brands (e.g. Studio Calico, Ali Edwards) ... & more ETA: i miss the past designers/companies too. i can't remember the last time i bought a collection. thank goodness i have a stash that's (mostly) stood the test of time. While I use non-stick EK Success Cutter Bee scissors (purchased over a decade ago before the company was acquired by American Crafts), consider carefully applying Goo Gone, Un-du, or rubbing alcohol to the blades with a cotton ball or round. Please be careful not to cut yourself (or leave residue on the scissors)! HTH

I was born & raised in the southeast (NC), where casseroles, including green bean, were popular at extended family gatherings (e.g. holidays, reunions) during my childhood. Personally, I detest casseroles, canned soups, salty foods, onions, etc. so they've never been part of my immediate family (i.e. parents, husband/son) traditions.

Born & raised in the southeast (NC), I've never seen or eaten mac & cheese for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc. It's not part of my family or social circle's traditions.
