Yup. Corporate accounts payable departments get scammed this way all the time. I'm glad you were able to avoid it.

Does your therapist think you might be depressed? Talking to a psychiatrist about that and possibly considering medication might help.
I think all your feelings are normal, though, and I'll completely validate them. A lot of women our age were raised to believe that we should do all the caring for others and not need any caring for from them. And it's not OK. Even worse, we're told that to want or need caring is weak and selfish.
I expressed something similar to my husband a few years ago - basically I felt like everyone in the family was allowed to have a crisis, meltdown, or bad day except me. It was my job to support everyone else through their crisis while quietly never having any problems of my own that might inconvenience someone else. I have to say that he's improved somewhat on that. He at least checks in with me and does what he can to see that I'm not actively unhappy.
But with regards to how you know if you're happy - I don't think we can rely on others to make us happy. We can and should expect others to treat us with consideration and to care for us when we need it, but happiness is up to us. Sometimes I have a flash of what I would describe as extreme contentment. Usually in small moments, when my family is together and no one is having a crisis and we're all having a good time just hanging out. That makes me happy. I do other things things that I find interesting or challenging or that give me a sense of accomplishment, and those feelings are important, too, but they're not happiness.
Anyway. That's a ramble. I'm sure it's different for everyone. Good luck to you in your journey.

Best part is that the judge was a Trump appointee, so no one can claim the judgement was politically motivated.
I hope this serves as a lesson and deterrent to all the MAGA morons who want to go after election workers.

I think it's likely she had confused ringworm with pinworms, which kids can pick up from playing in dirt and then putting their hands in their mouths. And which actually involves worms (internal). Ugh, pinworm! When one of my kids was in first grade there was obviously a child in class who either brought it to school, and shared it, causing it to go round and round, OR the same child kept passing it around. Either way, my one poor kid got it twice that year. We treated the entire household with medication, right then, and again in the amount of time indicated, and were super diligent with laundering everything every single day, giving them a bath every morning, scrubbing the bath tub, etc. The first grader's case went away, and no one else in our household ever got them. Then 3 months later they had them again. After the holiday break they went back, and after that it didn't happen again, so I wondered if that break was enough to get everyone in class who may have had it cleared up. But I felt so bad for the poor kid. It wasn't pleasant to have or to deal with. Yeah, I was grateful my kids never got pinworms. We had lice four times, though!

Another vote for tutoring or becoming an independent teacher. You can offer your services to individual students, microschools, or homeschool co-ops. Set your own schedule and control how much you make.

I knew that for president but I wasn’t sure for vice president. So they just want to control the president and vice president. I didn’t realize that Musk had so many issues and violations that he is trying to make go away. So the 75 million to make them go away if TFG is elected. ETA Vance would totally pardon TFG. He wouldn’t have a problem with that at all. Regrettably, the next Republican in the White House might pardon Trump. There are very few current Republicans that would have the courage to refuse to pardon him. We cannot allow another Republican president until (a) nature has taken its inevitable course with Trump and (b) the Republican party has rejected Trumpism and cleaned house in its party.

My elementary school playground had this area that had the perfect dirt for digging holes and we were always getting shooed away from it because we'd "catch ringworm." I didn't realize it was a real thing and not something the recess teacher made up I think it's likely she had confused ringworm with pinworms, which kids can pick up from playing in dirt and then putting their hands in their mouths. And which actually involves worms (internal).

I hope everyone here realizes it's a minor fungal infection in the skin. No actual worms involved.
I think both of my kids had it at some point growing up. No doctor's visit needed - regular old athlete's foot cream will do the job.

There's actually 45g of sugar in the jar you used so, that would be why. Yikes! I think I will have to start paying extra for low sugar brands. I'd hate to add more salt if I don't need to. Take a look at your store brand marinara. The HEB marinara at my local store has 0g added sugar. (All tomato sauce will have some naturally occurring sugar from the tomatoes, so added sugar is what you're looking for.) I prefer Rao's overall now, but when I was younger and broke and on the "no added sugar" bandwagon before it was cool, I discovered those cheaper store-brand sauces often fit the bill. And honestly, for something like lasagna where there are a lot of other sources of richness and flavor, Rao's probably isn't necessary. Also be aware that basil will make a sauce taste sweeter, so you might consider avoiding sauces with basil in them as well.

Thighs are delicious. The little bit of fat at the edges will render away during cooking. I haven't experienced gristle. IMO great chicken thighs require crispy skin, if you're leaving the skin on, and a higher cooking temp than breasts. I cook breasts to 165 but we like the taste and texture of thighs better around 185. This will also help with any rubberiness you may perceive as gristle. YMMV.

Doesn’t soft just mean your hair and features are low contrast? That is one reason I thought I was maybe a Soft Autumn, but that is not the case. I’m very low contrast, but a True Autumn. Your coloring is very similar to my oldest daughter’s. She is also true autumn.

I am also soft autumn. I don't usually wear black, but choose warm charcoal greys or soft browns instead. What I dislike about my coloring is that a lot of the colors that look best on me tend to make me think of colors favored by the elderly, while bold and vibrant colors I associate with youth actually make me look like a corpse. But it is what it is. Yeah like the puke green and 1970’s-couch gold. Those are usually too saturated for me. I’m more of a greyed out moss green or wheat gold. My best colors are peachy pinks and lavenders, and those look like old lady in the nursing home to me.

SE Texas is having an abnormally dry October. It hasn't rained in a few weeks. Normally we get quite a bit of rain at this time of year. Same in DFW. I'm waiting for a good storm. Looking like we'll finally get some rain around Halloween, which is both inconvenient and typical.

I can’t speak to CNN in particular. But I’m trying to figure out how we expect quality journalism to survive in a world where we don’t buy newspapers or magazines, don’t want to see too many ads, and refuse to pay for news online. Keep it up and there will be NO in-depth coverage of anything, no news we can really trust. Yup. Pick one local outlet and one national and support them with a subscription.

My college kid and young professional both still have their home address on their drivers' license, so they get a ballot that includes local races for this address. But Harris County has countywide voting, so they can vote where they live.
I think they could tell the registrar they live at a different address and get a provisional ballot with local races for those addresses, but none of us trusts Texas to count provisional ballots, so they don't do that.

News sites that don’t require a subscription mostly devolve into clickbait farms.
Check out NPR for accurate reporting that doesn’t require a subscription. They’re listener/reader supported, so no need for clickbait.

Hopefully not everyone on this board is against Trump -- did not know you needed to be a Democrat to be on this board. I am a very strong Trump supporter and when I read all the junk put on here I don't get mad about it, just feel bad so many are deceived and really believe things will not be worse with Kamala. You can have your own opinions and I will have mine. We will all see what happens before long. You can be whatever you want. Plenty of real conservatives are opposed to Trump. We don’t Trump here because we’re not stupid.
