Ladies I want to make a great baked potato!
So......how do you make yours? Is there a link to a recipe or steps to make a great baked potato? We
Oh YUMMMMM!! We made the potatoes tonight! Thank you so much!! I loved the "drop from distance" part of making them. They did come out fluffy that way. Thanks so much for all of your tips! They turned out great!!

I started saying that I would be happy to teach the person how to make their own item and would give them a list of supplies. Not one person ever took me up on being taught to do their own, either because of the cost to make their own or because they really just wanted the freebies. Not surprised! The worst one I've had is my own sister! I quilt casually and last year she asked me if I had any extra baby quilts lying around because a friend of my niece was having a baby. No because I make for specific people/events and even if I did I have never met this person. Then she hinted at me making one (she's the cheapskate in the family who wants everything for free). Told her I'd be happy to if she paid for everything and gave her a ballpark figure on what she would have to pay just for the materials and long arm quilting. Ha! Never heard another word about it. Quilting costs scare a lot of people off. They have no idea what a quilt costs let alone the time it takes to complete one.

Time.........slow............time.............slow............
I only have one. I think I started sometime in July or August. It ended maybe around Christmas. Oh and then just after I started to eat real food again I had my colonoscopy. So this medical stuff screwed up Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's.

I really enjoy Prancer! Kids like it too. I don't know if it's on anywhere. It was a VHS tape I had years ago.

I have a nasty cold thanks to my hubby!
I'm on day 8 of this mess. I feel "better" but am plugged up. I had my husband take for Sudafed. That has worked for me. Now I just started with Mucinex. Hopefully that will break it all up.

When I was in 3rd grade we had to use these. The teacher had the patience of a saint! Between learning how to write with them and learning how to take out the old cartridges and put in new ones it was a mess at times.
We could not cross out anything. The paper we used was like notebook paper.
Oh and for math....we had plain white notebook paper. The teacher taught us how to draw lines for our heading (very specific) and how to draw boxes to put our work in.
Both were great experiences, but gads she had patience.

Practice on scratch material. Use the 3 layers--top/batting/backing so you get a feel for it first.

Someone had one out a few years ago that you would turn a knob for thickness adjustment. A couple of my friends had it. The issue became that no matter how much they turned the knob it was never tight enough to cut through anything.

I was thinking if you bought the tree skirt and altered it. I would add fabric both at the top and the bottom, although red will be very hard to match.

I didn't read everything but here is a recess suggestion..... Each child had a pocket folder with their name on it that I kept in a tub until indoor recess. In the folder I put fun sheets. Some coloring (had to do math problems to color), some puzzles, word finds....whatever I could come up with. Initially I gave them 3-4 sheets. That way there was something in there if there was an unexpected indoor recess. After a couple of indoor times I'd pull out a couple more sheets. I'd have the kids distribute them and add to the folders. I tried to get a wide variety of pages for them to do.
The kids didn't have to use their folders if they didn't want to. It was just nice to know that they'd have something.

Yes we did that a couple of times. What you're doing is showing unity. That's a good thing. We were able to get all of the district employees within one union. So it was not only the teachers, but paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians and bus drivers. It was a powerful show of unity when we did it.
We did strike twice within my 38 years of teaching. The first time was in the 80's. The parental support was amazing. It helped our cause a lot. The second time was in the mid 2000's. Once the parents were educated we had a lot of support. What happened the second time is that we had a HORRIBLE superintendent who believed and made others believe he was the end all be all of the planet. Our school board did not realize they were above him. You read that correctly. The school board felt they needed to do whatever he said. Once they were educated the strike ended.
So, show your unity in whatever way the union asks. We did it with shirt colors and walking in/out together. We also had cryptic buttons we would wear.

Don my condolences. Your journey will bring on tears and peace. It's fine to be you. If you need assistance with anything make sure to talk to your son he should be able to get you to the correct person.
We are here for you. Post what you want when you want. I've found this group to be pretty supportive.
Peace......

A pattern will give you directions on how to make the quilt top.
A kit will include the pattern (instructions) and fabric for the top and possibly the binding. Very few kits include the backing.

We use it to play Singo! It's Bingo only with songs. Everyone is told to load it on their phones so they are ready to play.

I highly HIGHLY highly recommend the scale/sifter attachment. Then you do not need the sheild. I have 4 KA (1950 3C White, 1940 3B Pink, 5 qt 2002 Cobalt, 2019 6 qt Pro Empire Red). For attachments I have the sifter/scale, ice shaver, peeler/spiralizer, sheet cutter, shredder/slicer, and pasta press. Have my eye on the pasta sheet roller/cutter. Had the ice cream bowl attachment but never used it. Would the scale/sifter help with the flour explosion when making cookies?

Yes. My work computer can be remotely controlled by my district. So I know they can access the camera whenever they want. I have a slider cover that I use for it. They do not need your camera turned on for them to see what you are doing. The camera shows you.....not your laptop screen or what your are doing on it. You can cover your camera, but they still see what you're doing on the screen.

Just and FYI...if you have a work computer there is probably a keyboarding log program on it. In other words they know when you're on and when you're not. There are also programs that allow the employer to see your desktop without you knowing they can see it. They don't need your camera to see what you're doing.

Have you considered TN around the Knoxville area? On the water, decent temps and amazing views of the Smoky Mountains.

I love this pattern. If you're worried about color placement write the colors on the paper you are sewing on.
Do the blocks in numbered order. DO NOT remove the paper from the backs until after you have sewn together the pieces together.
When sewing the pieces together baste the stitches so you can flip over the fabric and see if it aligns up correctly. Once aligned stitch it with a shorter stitch to hold it together.

The ND I'm on has wacky posts. If it didn't it probably wouldn't be ND.
This ND has been super helpful with our move to an area we weren't familiar with. I ask questions and for recommendations...ND comes through. I have also been successful selling stuff that we brought down here on ND.

Here's what I did no matter how or what the parent reacts......
I will say to them that testing of any sort for anything will give everyone involved answers and education. It's what is done after the test results are shared where decisions are made. People want to be educated. Testing gives them an education. Each person does their own thing with their knowledge/education.
Leave it open......once professionals administer any evaluations/testing the parents may see what is going on.
