Our black friday motto is - Don't buy - DIY. I'm going to a jewelry making workshop where we'll donate all our creations to the local Homeless Garden Project Holiday Store. Anyone in Santa Cruz? It's at the Tannery, all day.

Anybody else make sweet potato pie? I make it every so often for Thanksgiving...I think this year might be one of them. I made one last year for the first time - it was delicious. I bought enough sweet potatoes to make a side dish and a pie. yummm.

There's a substitute teacher at the Jr. High my girls went to named Richard Licter . dick Licter. I do business with a guy named Dick Ryder.
I also know a guy with the last name of Turnipseed. It was just weird to me.
I met a lady named Queenie once.

My pants are too tight. I know I've been over eating but didn't really care until today when I could barely button my jeans.

There are a few things I really want. I've been taking metalsmithing classes for the last 3 years so TOOLS are on the top of my list. I'd like a desk-top metal shear, rolling mill and a small Paragon Kiln for enameling, none of which are cheap so I'd be happy with a new pair of hand-held metal shears.

I had a bunch of jumpsuits in the 80's. I don't think I could have tolerated that collar though.

I meet a lot of Solicitors and Paralegals in doing Voluntary work and they all seem to use a really good quality fountain pen in their interviews. fountain pens? wow, I didn't know they even made them any more. Are they true fountain pens, where you have to fill them from a bottle of ink or are they cartridge pens, refillable with a tube of pre-loaded ink?

I'm trying to de-clutter my garage so I can work in there. I'm packing up SB stuff, organizing my metalsmithing stuff and also trying to figure out what I should garage sale, what to sell online and what to just donate. It seems like a never-ending job.

I don't get it eats_crayons....
Mine were on my parent's RV and the little car they pulled. It was a reference to the old TV show F-troop (a very bad comedy).
Fugawe (as in " Where the f are we" the name of the Indian tribe was Fugawe and they would walk around saying We're the Fagawe and then someone would answer:
Damfno
yea, it was a bad show.

Mine do. Mine do also. Plus, by having them cold, you won't cry when you cut them. yep, cold onions are less irritating to my eyes.

wow, that's a lot of socks!!
Not too long ago my dog pooped a tampon. He likes to raid the bathroom trash. (We're not flushers here, BAD plumbing) He also eats underwear when he can get a hold of a pair.

I work til 5, then cook dinner and clean up. By then it's maybe 8:00 -9:00 and I sit down for the first time. I usually go to bed around 11:00 so usually 2-3 hours. Same schedule on weekends except work, I'm doing things at home.

When I offer to help out a friend, I don't expect or feel comfortable with any kind of payment. If I accepted money after offering something as a gift, all the feel-goody vibes for doing something nice for someone would vaporize.
If you felt like you needed to give them something, GC's to something awesome would be nice, but they really aren't doing it for payment, they're doing it because they like you and want to do something nice for you.

There is no scenario in which I would iron a sheet by choice. ever.
My sister, on the other hand, irons to unwind. It's like meditation to her.

our old cat - 1 pigeon per day. Once she brought up a duck but when we got home the duck was running all over the house and the cat was hiding. I have no idea how she got it through the cat door! I guess it was in shock at first then fought back and won.
our current cat - snakes, about 2-3 per summer. Just garter snakes thank goodness!

Yea, our cat doesn't give a rip about us. She just isn't needy. It really bugs my daughter, who lost her super-snuggley kitty a couple years ago.

Ok, I made up the pmail part! I can't believe the only reference I don't get is the beet one. What happened with beets that I missed? What? You don't remember the weekly veggie threads? Each week was a different veggie. The whole thing may have died with the beet thread, I don't remember. OOOOOH, I do I do. I totally intended to participate in those veggie threads but I'm pretty sure I fizzled out after the second week and shamefully ignored them after that. I'm not really good at follow-through. Now I want to read the beet thread.
