I keep a spreadsheet of what my kids got got Christmas and the cost. Just so I can keep track of purchases and make sure it’s even I generally spend around $230. This year my DD needs a new cell phone. So my budget is already shot. Jen

Great price--is that unlimited?? Some months (usually when 1 of us has a hospital stay), I wish I had an unlimited plan. Yes, it is unlimited. It’s the only thing that made us leave Ting. Jen

There are some less expensive pay as you go type smart phone. My Mom has a pay as you go-monthly smart phone and she can access internet, text, calls, etc... if she so chooses to, (but she still struggles with the knowing how part...despite the fact that we've shown her how to many times). She still can't figure out how to text right either. A non-apple product would not be able to synch to your other apple products, icloud, iphones, etc... So if she needs to use icloud, another brand would not work in this situation. GREAT point!! Another reason to go through Ting. They have plans that you could pre-set, and you could watch it every day to check the usage and cost. My bill is under $20 every month. I try not to go online unless it's an emergency, but I do use data, phone, text, etc. a lot and the price is great. Let me know if you want to try going that route and I could give you a code for it. We had Ting for a year and we were happy with the service. Right now we have Cricket and pay a flat rate of $100 tax included for 4 lines.

I still love my Samsung Galaxy S3. I bought it refurbished via Ting.com, and it's STILL working!!! Samsung has some different features and the ONLY reason I'd really want to have an iPhone is to Facetime with my family......... Check out Ting.com for a decent refurbished phone--anything above the S3(Galaxy) or iPhone would be good enough. BTW, one feature that Samsung has (that Apple doesn't) is the swipe feature. You just swipe with your finger to spell words. Makes it MUCH faster for me. DH just got me an iPad 3 series, and I have to get used to everything on it. You can install a swipe keyboard on apple devices. It just isn’t the default. Live changing, off to install. Jen

My dd (20) needs a new cell phone. An iPhone is out of the budget. My husband is against a referbished iPhone and asked me to look and see if there were any cheaper phones comparable to the iPhone.

I am sure they don’t sell them in Seattle. 😉 Jen Just got home from Costco and guess what I brought home with me! You know, so the kids can put a few chocolates into gift bags for their teachers....I certainly won't be sampling any of them myself. I went looking for my bag last night and couldn’t find it. Apparently my nieces and nephews at them on Thanksgiving, while I was busy slaving away in the Kitchen. Jen

Satsuma body butter from The Body Shop $10 when it’s on sale Kitchen Lemon foaming soap from Bath and Body works. It’s less that $10 but you could do a few of them EOS lip balm. Again they are less than $10 so you could do a few of them. Jen

The family was politely complained that they didn’t get any thanksgiving leftovers so warmed up the leftover turkey and made some mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and Rhodes rolls. Super easy! While making dinner tonight I double tasked and made a shepherds pie for tomorrow night.

do you need a promo code or something? every time I click on the 99cent deal it opens new page with $5.99 price. What am I doing wrong? Try from your cell phone data. It wouldn’t let me on my WiFi because I was already a Hulu customer. I used a different email address and credit card. Jen

I usually don’t like all these immunity idols, advantages. I think it take away from the game play of who truly played the best game and who is the soul Survivor at the end. But since it’s keeping the David’s around I am all for it. Jen
