A Clockwork Orange. Thank goodness I saw it on tv not the movie theatre. I don't really mind violence in movies but I had a really visceral reaction to that movie and was deeply upset by it. I have never been traumatized by any other movie.

One of the weird side effects of my medical issues is that my body is always in a state of partial dehydration so my skin is crazy dry. I have pretty good luck with Eucerin Intensive Care but I hate the way it feels (it is very thick) so I apply a regular lotion too after I use it.

I love clothes. I don't work anymore due to my medical issues but unless it is really cold I wear dresses. I like the look of them and think they are so easy - no matching required! If the weather is cooler I wear them with ankle boots, when warmer I wear them with wedges. I usually wear jewelry that I like with them. In colder weather, I wear jeans with a cute top, and I have a lot of pretty coats that I think really make my outfit if I am wearing jeans. (My latest coat purchase was a long cashmere bright red coat and I have never got so many compliments in my life.) I'm lazy about changing my purses though - I have dozens but usually use the same one 90% of the time. I posted one of my most recent dress purchases on the cold shoulder thread but I also got this one that is totally trendy because the pom pom trim and I absolutely love it. I'm not crazy into fashion like I probably would be if I lived in a bigger city, but I treat myself to things I like and kind of pay attention to trends. I guess my style would be considered feminine in a kind of Blair Eadie way (she is a blogger).

I was just editing my post to say that myshelly. You are right this one is more off the shoulder than what I think of as cold shoulder but I like it for the same reasons.

Thought I would find and add a picture of my latest cold shoulder dress purchase though I guess this might be considered off the shoulder versus cold shoulder. I like both!

Congratulations! Paris is an amazing city and I am sure you will have a great time.
I firmly believe there is no one must see list for everyone. For example, so many people feel like they have to go to The Louvre. However I was fine skipping it because I really love the Impressionists so for me the Musee d'Orsay and The Orangerie were better fits. Versailles was a cool experience but I actually preferred the Palais Garnier.
So this is my must list for Paris with the caveat that everyone enjoys different types of things and I recommend keeping what you enjoy in mind.
1. Norte-Dame 2. Sacre Cour / Montemarte 3. Musee D'Orsay 4. Boat ride on the Seine at night 5. Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen (Paris Flea Market) 6. The Eiffel Tower 7. Shopping in the Marais district and walking behind where all the shops are to see the beautiful courtyards. 8. Eat in as many kinds of places as you can. If I can find my list of our favorite restaurants I will post it. I did a lot of research into restaurants and it definitely paid off. 9. Jardin du Luxembourg (and as many other gardens, parks squares as you can) 10. Palais Garnier 11. Walk around different neighborhoods

We have plantation shutters almost everywhere in our home with only some sheer curtains on the doors that lead to the screened in porch and blackout drapes over the shutters in our bedroom because I need absolute darkness to sleep.

I love decorating and I think I am pretty good at it. That said, I don't think I fit in one style. I've been going by flea markets and estate sales and have been thrifting for close to 30 years. I have always used finds from those to decorate but try to have a good mix with some new items too. I like color, lots of blues and greens in our house with accents of raspberry, pinks and corals, but I also use a lot of white. I've always used certain elements of farmhouse style but I also love chandeliers in almost every room. So if I had to name my style I guess it would be happy modern country glam. 😁

I like this show a lot and think it was even better this season than the first. Like on other shows, I get a little tired of the teenager cliches but other than that I really enjoying it.

Do things you really want to do as soon as you can. I would have never imagined I would develop a serious medical condition that prevents me from doing so much at a relatively young age. I wish I had made my "bucket list" type items more of a priority.

I can barely muster a reply as this upsets me so much. I take 16 medicines a day in order to just function and do the things he probably can do without a second thought (eating, sleeping, etc.). I would be grateful for one month where my medical care only costs the equivalent of an iPhone. He has no idea what he is talking about, and is a jerk for saying something so insensitive.

I have looked at so many houses over the last two years as we want to downsize. I haven't found anything I like and the biggest reason is they all feel too dark. So if you don't have natural light I would consider going with a lighter color.

That's too bad. I must be one of the few people in existence who likes Katherine Heigl, and I thought the cast was great. I like her too. I've been a fan since Roswell and I loved her as Izzie on Grey's Anatomy.

Late to this thread but I loved it so much. My favorite movie in years and years. I saw it right after it came out and am still listening to the soundtrack and score (I loved the music so much I bought both) every day. I really believe this will become a classic and will be remembered much more than any of the other Oscar nominees.

First and foremost my sweet dog. Petting her, cuddling with her and pretty much everything else that involves her.
Texts and calls from my daughter. She is 21 and in college in another state but she calls everyday and we text a lot. I love hearing her perspective on things, her funny stories, and feel so grateful that I am able to watch her grown into an amazing young woman.
Walks with my husband around the lake we live on. I also love sitting on our porch with him, drinking wine and watching the animals they seem to congregate in our yard.
iTunes. I still am in awe that I can listen to anything I want while being anywhere.
Heated seats in my car.
