If I recall correctly, last year I sent 127 cards , or maybe it was 117...anyhow....a kind pea formatted the address list for printing and then shared it with those who asked. Is there anyone who might be willing to do that again? I have absolutely no idea how to do it otherwise I'd do it myself. Addressing the envelopes is the only "bad" part of the whole shebang IMO. The year before I addressed 80-something envelopes for the swap and my hand was SORE! Thanks for any help you can offer! I shared my label format last year with some of the participants- and plan to do it again this year- making the cards is fun- addressing them - not so much! LOL I know others plan to create labels and share them- the more the merrier! I think 127 was the number last year!

I use the fridge bins; I have found wider ones at Marshalls/Home Goods; about 8 inches wide. I also have my 'off season' pads in photo boxes, tucked in a closet. The fridge bins hold my new pads and the 'please use me' paper pads... yes- I have way too many! And welcome to the world of card making! About 120 of us did a Christmas card exchange last year and plan to do it again--join us! I had seen the ones that were eight inches wide and thought they might be too big looking. I'm happy to know that's a good option! Thanks for the welcome. I'm not sure I'm good enough yet to join a card exchange. I bought one Christmas set because it had a puppy in it. Then my daughter convinced me we needed penguins and unicorns too for Christmas. Lol oh- there is no ' notgood enough' with the card exchange! No rules-- I have received gorgeous homemade cards, gorgeous store bought cards, gorgeous photo cards.....it is just a really fun thing to be part of! And of course you need penguins and unicorns and a few snowmen, angels, Rudolph, Santa....that is the thing with stamping- there are so many great options! The 8 inch bins do give me a little extra room on the sides-but I don't feel they are too big. I sometimes tuck 'works in progress' in the open space!

I learned light to dark so it is what I am comfortable with. I love the xpress it paper (have to order on line and it is expensive but worth it!) but I also like the crafters companion/spectrum noir paper-I can get it at AC Moore with a coupon.

Hi, it looks like about 25 vendors. I am sure I will still find fun things to buy! I remember the days of the Creating Keepsakes conventions when there were huge crowds and many vendors!

I must be the exception. Unless I order something that is a preorder, I usually get mine within a few days. me, too Gale W. I ordered Sunday evening and had my order on Thursday. A long time ago- I did have some slower processing experiences but over the past year or so, I think things improved. I was pleased with the quick turn around. Sorry others are having issues. And yes, I too am spoiled by Amazon prime... fast and free!

Is anyone going next weekend? I went for just a few hours last year and it seemed pretty small. I bought plenty of goodies but it looks like there are even fewer vendors this year. I think I will go Saturday morning and get the last of my 'must haves' for my Christmas cards.

I avoided it until last December, totally hooked! Binged and watched all seasons in a month- then was upset when I had to wait for this season to start...and now it is over! It was totally worth giving up cooking, cleaning, friends, family for a month-- LOL!!! Enjoy!!!! It gets better and better!

I am thinking about making these for my co-workers. We made them at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo and they were easy and I bet with Christmas papers they would be nice. I did buy the supplies while I was there. Very pretty- agree- they will look fabulous with Christmas papers- and there are so many pretty ones to choose from!

forgot to add- I like that they are statements without elaboration! And then- it can get people talking! My examples are: My softball batting average was over 800, I had an audience with the Pope, I was on top of Mt Pilatus in Switzerland. (Depends on the group--and how well they may already know me!)
I am pudgy so no one thinks I am athletic; I wear a necklace with a cross so people think I am religious, everyone thinks the batting average is a lie- not!! I have never met the Pope. I like that it breaks the ice but I have not shared anything that could come back and bite me in the future!

each person says 2 truths and a lie....others have to guess the lie. Nice since you share only the truths you want to share which is nice for private people and the lie can be mundane or outrageous! Some people share 'I have 2 cats, 3 siblings and 4 cars'. Some share adventures...'climbed 8 mountains, have been to 6 countries, have never been in a plane'. I like that you learn more about people but only as much as they want!

Vintage, Fuzzy Wuzzy Soap. We would occasionally get these when I was a kid. The bear would get fuzzy because of whatever nontoxic stuff was put on it. And, when you got to the center of the soap there was a little prize. I'll take before, during, and after pictures to scrapbook so if I have grandchildren they can see how we got our thrills in the 60s. $3 oh what a blast from the past! My grandmother would surprise us with fuzzy wuzzy!!!!

I'm not going to sign up this year. Sorry but I totally flaked last year. My apologies to everyone and thanks to those who sent me cards. If I can manage it, I'll send to some of the names from last year's list, but I don't want anyone to send me cards because I am undeserving. My problem isn't cards ... I have plenty and enjoy making them. My problem is the freakin' arthritis in my hands that makes it hard for me to hand-write addresses. grrrrrr ... So sorry about your hands, lucyg! I shared a file for pre-printed address labels. I loved seeing handwriting on the envelopes I received but the labels made things easier and faster for me (and it was fun to see the labels on the cards I received!). I sent to everyone on the list and did not count how many I got...but I received a lot and it was so fun to both create and send the cards as well as come home to happy mail! Leowife- thanks for taking the lead on this- and I am very open to helping you in any way I can this year. I am happy to set up labels again for those interested!a My preparation so far....buying stamps and pretty papers-- LOL! A few ideas in my head and I did start to color a few stamped images. I will start to buy books of postage stamps in September- a book or 2 at a time does not seem so overwhelming to the pocketbook!

We used them growing up- Irish roots but all born in the USA for past few generations. My grandmother made one for each of us kids with our name on it-- in her ceramics class. I found my brother's many years ago and started a collection! I have them decorating my kitchen! I used to get them at yard sales and when I travelled. I don't use them but love the memories!

Yup! As I age, my distance vision has improved and I no longer wear prescription glasses routinely but I keep an older pair in the car just in case...have used them rarely for night driving. and I have readers everywhere! Glad you got home safely!

I'm also reading The Girl Who Wrote in Silk by Kelli Estes. Another enjoyable tale inspired by true events about a young Chinese girl of the late 1800's and a modern day woman whose lives become connected by an embroidered piece of fabric hidden in a house the woman inherited from her aunt. I really enjoyed this book! It was different...kept my interest. I just finished listening to the Atlantis Code by Charles Brokaw. I enjoyed it- I like these types of books...searches for lost objects, myths and mysteries from the past.
