First question - So what is the incentive? Many people get refunds, so they wouldn't receive any of this non-refundable credit? I paid a little over 30K in Federal taxes this year. These are the kinds of things we want! Though we have zero plans to ad an electric vehicle to our fleet. We did get tax credits for some solar equipment we purchased a couple years ago for pumps. It tax credit greatly offset the cost of the panels, etc.

My very Italian gram would roll over in her grave if anyone of us used cottage cheese. Blech. Thanks for the kind reply... LOL I have used ricotta and everyone prefers the cottage cheese! Honestly, as far as flavor - there isn't much difference in them. Texture, but not flavor. Plus, the AE Cottage cheese (a regional Midwest dairy) is SO GOOD! My SIL gave me the deep dish Pyrex and it is perfect for lasagna. The top is interchangeable with a regular pyrex pan of the same size. Amazon link: a.co/d/9QTO8sH That looks awesome and much more durable than the Pioneer Woman one. I love the PW dishes = but damn - they are fragile! Also, I used fresh mozzarella - oh that sounds yummy! I will try that next time I have some fresh mozzarella!

Midwest version here: Ground beef, browned and seasoned. Sauce added. Store brand spaghetti sauce 1 to 2 jars Kraft Parm cheese Kraft Mozzarella large container AE 4% milkfat cottage cheese 1 egg - mixed into the cottage cheese Barilla lasagna noodles, cooked in my Fasta Pasta Pour a bit of sauce in a greased pan. Add 3 cooked noodles, a l1/2 of meat mixture, 1/2 cottage cheese, a heavy shake of parm and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Then repeat with noodles/meat/cheese. Finish with 3 noodles on top, cover with sauce, sprinkle with parm and add some mozzarella. Cover with parchment, then seal pan with aluminum foil. Bake for an hour at 350º for an hour, uncovered for the last 10 minutes. Let rest for a bit. Everyone likes it! I'm sure a fussy, by the books eater would not call it real lasagna, but eh! It is even good as a leftover. It's not dry. I have finally found the perfect pan that is large enough and doesn't cook over, but isn't too big. Pioneer Woman! There are two baking dishes in this set. I use the large red one for lasagna and other bigger casseroles. It is perfect for a dozen sticky rolls too! The smaller blue one is perfect for a half batch of lasagna or rolls. Deep enough that they don't cook over. Pioneer Woman 2 piece baking set

Only like the thin flour sack towels. Once they are wet I throw them down the stairs to the washer. And I must have about 50 of them. I use them until they are filled with holes. I think I'm obsessed I'm not going to count - but there is a large quantity! I too love the thin flour sack towels. They are hard to beat! I use them for so many cleaning purposes also. Can't wash windows without them. I have newer ones for my kitchen, as they get stained, they go to window washing, then I use them for harvest/planting time. I put a few in a gallon zip lock bag with a can of SprayWay glass cleaner (THE BEST EVER) in the cab of very tractor, combine, and truck. Make cleaning windows easier when I have a kit in each rig... and sometimes the other drivers even wash their own windows! LOL (The truck drivers always do). I have recently discovered Geometry House towels. Oh - how I love these! They are thin, but kind of dimply texture. Not fluffy like a terrycloth. They are made of recycled materials. They have SO many patterns and designs for holidays and all year around. I have been buying them to use and as gifts. I like their other towels and napkins also, but do not care for the "Not Paper Towels" at all. Here is a link to check out the GEOMETRY HOUSE towels. Google for a coupon code. It's easy to find 15% off codes that work.

Since he has little to know experience at an airport - try googling the airports he will be at.
There are SO many videos out there, where people record their experience. You might find one that shows the airport he will be using, and that way things will be a bit familiar!
Air travel has really changed, if you haven't been for a while. You can do everything off your phone now. Boarding passes, seat assignments, etc. I find it helpful to have any of those apps downloaded and installed at home before you go. Airport wi-fi can be iffy sometimes. They they just scan the phone with the boarding pass open at check-in and at the gate.
My son was in Hong Kong and they wanted to take his passport and phone from him. He said NO. He was able to get assistance and get the situation handled. I was glad that he had traveled and lived abroad before that incident... so this travel experience will be such a great learning experience for your kid!

So as I understand it then, you would have to add over $10k a year to your current tax bill - as well as your deductible (is that per person?) in order to be comparing like with like? Ehhh... I am thinking yes.. Deductible is 5K for DH & I combined. Again - my calculations and understanding of the taxes in foreign countries (much less the US) is shaky at best!!! But from what I can figure, I would be paying more in additional taxes and I am guessing a medicare type surcharge over and above the higher tax rate that countries with socialized medicine have, than what my current health insurance premium plus deductible would be. My insurance premium is also a deduction on my taxes, so that is currently a befit to me. But when I look at tax rates in Canada - they are less that someplace like Australia. So - there is that! So complicated! But when I hear FREE HEALTHCARE ... I always thing... eh.. it's not so free! But I truly want a better system in our country!

"There won't be any out-of-pocket expenses for you today." Yep, an operation to put in a plate, with all those nurses, and doctors, and the anaesthetist, and the surgeon, and the theatre, and the hospital room, all comes to a big fat ZERO dollars. (Sorry, I just had to throw that one in! ) Hoping she has a speedy healing and recovery! My DH had hand/arm surgery a year ago and it went really well. Free healthcare sounds wonderful, and I hope someday our US system can be better - but "free" is never really free. With a VERY uneducated look at comparing tax rates between what I pay in the US and what the same rate would be in Australia - it is quite different. In the US my tax rate is 24% (give or take) and in Australia it would be 45% plus .45/per$1 over $180K PLUS a Medicare surcharge. *I have a tenuous grasp on the US tax policies, and only shaky Google knowledge of other countries!! I am lucky to be able to afford a decent health care coverage. But it isn't terrific. I have a fairly large deductible, and and our premium is over 10K a year. But that is still a lot less that I would pay in the difference in the tax bill - by a long shot. I am thankful my children all have good healthcare plans through their employers and only pay a very minimal amount for it. I really wish there could be something done with health care costs in general and also the cost in insurance. Someone is getting very rich, while pinching the rest of us beyond control. Those that are getting very rich are the ones that control our politicians, thus ending any change of anything becoming 'affordable'.

My house was built in the early 1930's. I am SO thankful that my beautiful oak woodwork was never painted. It is still beautiful to this day. I know some would paint it in a heartbeat, but what a shame. Wood always looks good. Painted woodwork comes and goes.
You can do things to enhance the wood. New hardware or wall color. But don't paint beautiful old woodwork!
And for those who say it can be stripped. It can. But lord, it is a job and a half. Plus the 'good' strippers have been banned, so you are stuck with stuff like Citri-Strip, which works, but it is a major undertaking to get it done. The old stripper would zip that paint right off.

Where did you all purchase the Speed Queen? Nebraska Furniture Mart. I can't remember if it came from Omaha or Des Moines. They have stores in both cities.

Oh... pretty! Stunning color!
We have to dig Glads here (zone 5a). I love them, but the time to dig and store them is when I am hauling grain, so I no longer do any of those types of bulbs. I love Canna's too, but if I plant them, I know that I am not going to be saving them. I have put a few in pots the last couple years.

Ours have to be filed at the end of February, so I am always relieved when they are done.
I have to have all the bookwork done and to the accountant mid-December so he can run it up and see where we stand. Do we spend, or are we good on expenses.
That coincides with Christmas, and we generally always have to spend, so the time between Christmas and New Years Eve is spent trying to figure what we need to purchase. So that sucks. We pre-pay all inputs - seed, fuel, chemical and fertilizer before the end of the year - so that can usually bring us up to where we need to be, as far as expenses. I got a really nice new commercial Deere mower a couple years ago, as a last minute purchase! LOL
I paid yardage and for a potload of calves today, so I no longer am worried if I am over the FDIC insured amount in the bank anymore. With banks going under, I was getting a little worried I had too much parked in one institution for a few days.

It has been terrible for a couple years, and getting worse.
I have Prime, but most things take 4 to 7 days to get. I can order similar/same products from Walmart or Target and get them next day or 2 day.

Vacuumed packed, maybe. Ground beef is considered safe if used within 2 days post expiration date. Vacuumed sealed meat does last longer.
If really in doubt - toss.

I will buy a Proven Winner plant over any other plant if I can find them. They are a bit hard to find in my area though. There used to be an awesome greenhouse that carried them, but they closed.
I have thought about ordering, but I wait to long and they are out of stock. I need to go check them out.
I want to get more Limelight hydrangea. LORD! I have one that is stunning. My husband said "get more of those".

And I would not be eat cow testicles at all! Even fried I would not. They really aren't bad. If they are prepared in a way I like them (sliced very thin, breaded, and fried) I don't mind them. But I don't seek them out. We don't keep ours. Usually the vets take them with them and give them to someone who is having a big nut fry. They put them in the red vet sleeves (the plastic arm length exam gloves). I have had those red hands in my freezer before and it's always a bit of a shock to see that 'arm' in there! ... if that doesn't give you an idea of 'farmers wife' .... nothing will. I think a true test of a relationship would be sorting cows with your partner. You will want to murder them. They will want to murder you. But if you can forget that shortly after it is finished (the sorting, not the murdering)... you will probably be fine.

i don't care if it looks like a coin-op laundromat in my house, i just the closest thing to a simple, old school machine. My husband ordered me the Speed Queen I have now. He had heard about it on the radio in his tractor (long days). He called me and asked me if I wanted "coin-op or no coin-op" I opted for no coin-op. But it is the best dang washer ever! Really works on my dirty dirty dirty laundry. Mine is several years old now. I can do a double wash (and double rinse) on my machine. That double wash is SO dang nice! The first wash cycle gets the heavy mud/crud off and the second can clean without having quite so much mud in the wash water. I think my worst ever load of laundry was when my husband fell in the pump pit at our barn... it is filled with liquid manure. His coat and coverall's were drenched. I actually had him undress outside (it was COLD) and we had to pour the liquid manure out of his coat pockets. He had called ahead, so I had a clear path to my washer, that is in the basement. I had the lid open and ready for the clothes to go in. First two washes was just to get the manure off.. then another wash to clean. ICK. I had to fish a lot of corn out of the washer tub. LOL He was pretty clean underneath - but he undressed and went directly to the shower, also in the basement. We have an entry to the house that is dedicated to 'work' - so the mud and crud stay contained. LOL

How many people who HAVE paid sick leave, but still come in to work. Why? Who knows. But I saw it all the time. Some employers require a doctors note to get sick leave. I would not go in to the doctor if I had the stomach bug or a cold. There is no reason to go in for that.

Top load, old school Speed Queen. These are the only washers still made in the USA. Not fancy, doesn't play a tune when it's done. But it will was a load in hot water. I can soak as long as I want. It gets clothes CLEAN! It takes 30 minutes or less to do a load, and it never goes out of balance.

Back in the day, McDonald’s used to have an All American Meal which was a hamburger (or cheeseburger), a small fry and a small drink, basically the kid’s meal without the toy. It was cheaper than ordering a kid’s meal or the items individually. But I don’t see it on the menu anymore. My go-to at McD's was a small fry, small drink, and a McDouble. It used to be $1 each, so $3. It's more than that now, but that is still my order. But lord, it can be trying sometimes to get them to give me a small drink. All drinks are a $1 and they really want to give me a quart of Coke! I love their Coke (and Sprite and HiC Orange!) .. but I only want a small. I'd drink the entire big one just the same. I only buy the small cans of pop, even though they cost more. I just want a little... and I have no will power...

What is it about TikTok that made it so popular? IG does video too and IG randomly puts reels on your feed based on your viewing habits. Did it become popular because it was new? I am just curious. What I see on TikTok is weeks or months ahead of IG/Reels. Someone sends me a video from Reels, and I have seen it ages ago on TT. I really think the owners of other Social Media are up in arms because they are loosing out big time on ad revenue to TT. And they FOR SURE sell our data and info. To god knows who. They also skew what we see. Some of those asking questions at the hearing revealed themselves to be very uniformed idiots. Whew. Our data for everything is being mined by powers that we have no control over. John Deere takes ALL GPS data from those who use their GPS. All cropping data, planting, harvest, acres, etc. Every damn bit of info. For free. That is some very valuable data. And the farmer gets "free maps printed"... Ah..free! JD will use this data to form their operator-free software and, IMO, that data will be available to those entities that are buying up massive amounts of farm ground. That is something that should be worried about WAY more than China and TikTok. I do not use any Deere software. They can't control any of my machinery.

Plants and outdoor decor in the summer. Decor for my house when it's winter.
I laugh with my husband about retail therapy. For me a BIG spend is $100. For him, it's never under $10K. He can part with large sums so much easier than the small ones.

We don't have moose in our area, but I have heard a moose collision compared to one with a horse. They stand so tall that it impacts the passenger compartment more than a deer or something lower.
I had a friend that ran into a horse on a highway. 4 people in the car. 2 front/2back. They all layed down reflexively and somehow managed to do so without hittin/leaning up against each other. They were flat down, and the entire top of the car was taken off. They had not a scratch on them. It was simply a miracle.

Not so much pets, but livestock do not give 2 poops about time change. Chore time is chore time, no matter what the clocks say.
Don't ever think that Daylight savings time is something farmers wanted or like. It just makes the day longer. If the livestock was fed at 7 am regular time, they get fed at 6 am DST.
With that extra hour of daylight, that just means a longer day. Start chores at 6 am. Normally (not during busy times) would stop working around 6pm or 7pm , now 8 pm. 7 days a week!

I would not fuss over getting a simple shutterfly card as an invite. If they handed it to me in person - even better.
6 months ahead of the wedding is beyond accommodating.
The only issue I have is them making you responsible for your own adult children. If they want them there, they need to get them an invitation.
RSVP'ing online or via text is simple. You have no excuse to not respond in a timely manner, they should not have to hunt you down.
Just because it is a simpler version of an invitation, doesn't mean anything. If you don't like it - RSVP that you will not be attending.

That seems suspicious? A GoDaddy website for a Royal? I can't get the link to go anywhere.
I wonder if someone was guessing names and registered a domain? I know there are people who register domain names to later sell for $$$. Guessing Princess Lillibet is a stretch though! LOL
