I have to Google what an Enhanced license is. Apparently only 5 states (MI, MN, NY, WA, VT) issue them right now. California is looking to get them soon. I do have a Real ID, but not an Enhanced one. A Real ID is not the same as an Enhanced ID! OH! I didn't even think that they were not the same thing! Iowa has the Real ID.

We have a farm shop that is about a half mile from our house. We have a nice loft that we watch TV and have parties. If I have to pay extra to have my Netflix there, I will not be happy, and I will not do it. We have it on our smart TV.

Baby Foot Peel! It will rock your world! If you follow the exact process of using it - soak your feet well before doing it, leave the bags on your feet for an hour, then wait. After several days soak your feet again (or take a long shower/bath). All that dead skin comes off in the most horrific/wonderful way. LOL The first time I did it I had thick cracked heels (not cracked to the point of bleeding!) and other thicker calluses on my feet. OH MY STARS - it was beyond belief! LOL I used them about once or twice a year now, but nothing was like that first time. The bottoms of your feet peel all over, but those thick calluses really come off. I used a pumice rock to help (wait at least 3 or 4 days before doing) But once it starts coming off, it really comes off. Here is a link to their site BABY FOOT PEEL I usually get mine on Amazon - but you want the real one. Get the FOOT PEEL. Plan on not doing anything for the hour the bags are on. I put some fuzzy socks over the bags, but it is difficult to walk. And plan at least a week where you don't want people to see your feet! LOL

Since I had to go in anyway I decided to upgrade my license to an enhanced driver’s license, which meant going through a ton of paper I had looking for my birth certificate copy (which is why I had put it off for years. Hahaha). UGH! THIS! I didn't get the enhanced last time, because off all the dang paperwork I needed. I just need to sit down and get everything ordered that I need. I need to have my birth certificate AND my marriage license official copies. I will have to order them, since I don't live anywhere close and I have no idea where our marriage license is. I do have an official birth certificate. It just chaps my hide that I need my marriage license. I have had an Iowa DL for 35 years. So my question is does your state give you the option of an enhanced driver’s license or is it mainly only states that border Canada? I am sure it is every state, since it is a Federal project. You will need the EDL or "Real ID" that has the gold star to enter any Federal facility. Commercial aircraft are Federally regulated - so you can't get on one without the Real ID with the gold star, starting May 2025 (which has been pushed back, it was supposed to start much sooner). The only thing that would be a positive in not having it, would be if I ever got called for Federal jury duty. LOL - sorry, I can't go in the Federal Court house! Grrr... LOL

I love their clear cups now and if they had a good lid like a Starbucks sip lid I'd like that. I really don't like straws, and often take the lid off to drink right out of the cup.
As long as the Coke and Sprite never change the way they taste! Oh man - nothing hits like a McD's Coke on a hot day!
I only order small size. I do not want a quart of pop! Sometimes it's really hard to get them to give me a small. I don't want a large!

Can you use your washing machine to soak?
I know some of the HE machines will not allow a long soak, and are difficult to get filled with really hot water to start with.
But if you have the type of washing machine that will allow you to soak longer than 15-20 minutes without draining - that is the easiest!

Trust no one. Even small town jewelers can be a bit shifty, especially if they offer to purchase. Online appraisals or Facebook groups would be a good source, but I would want to be anonymous. I just don't trust anyone! LOL And the internet is a crazy place. If it is of any value - I would not want anyone to know I have it or come looking for it to steal. So much theft around me, in my small rural area. The local thief was behind me in the grocery checkout yesterday. He hasn't pinched anything from us, but he did clear out the neighbor ladies shop and house after she died. Her family knows it. The sheriff knows it, but according to the Sheriff's department "there is nothing we can do about it". Uhh... yea. Don't steal my stuff... I will do something about it.

Oh I love it!
I wish they would have a children's tea set again - or just a children's place setting! I know you can kind of knock one together with smaller plate, but a dedicated children's place setting would be cool!
I got a 'cake stand' in the meadow color. It's the super large pizza plate, with the hostess bowl as the stand.
I would love a real cake stand, but I think they are all out of stock right now.

actually that's not true - but people over stuff the washer and use too much HE soap, or non-HE soap in the HE machine, so the clothes can't be rinsed properly. I think the most people should use is 2T of HE detergent and only fill the machine no more than 3/4 of the way. I agree that people are probably using way too much detergent. And also not loading the machine properly. But honestly - they do NOT get clothes as clean as a traditional washing machine. Many of them will not use straight hot water, and sometimes really hot water is needed. Do they get clothes clean enough for the majority - sure. But over time, there is a build up. Just watch people gag when they do a 'laundry strip' - that is because the HE machines are not truly getting the fabric clean. My laundry is ranch/farm dirty. Nasty. I have a HE machine. I do NOT overload it. I have tried it with 2 pairs of jeans, and loaded them correctly. They still came out with actual dirt on them. Dirt that I could see! So, after running at least 2 cycles - they looked clean, but still stained - but that took a couple hours to do. This could be my type of machine for sure! I regretfully bought the one without a center agitator. It will not fill with straight hot water. It mixes cold in. I also have an old school (but fairly new) Speed Queen washer. I can wash the same dirty nasty jeans in it, not use a ton of detergent and they come out CLEAN! No stains. It takes under 30 minutes, start to finish. I have watched people to the 'laundry strip' on their sheets in a bathtub. They have the HE machines. Ick. I really love my 'old school' machine, because I can actually get HOT water in it. Fill it with hot water, if I need to. And SOAK! My HE will not soak over 20 minutes. It drains on it's own. I don't know if they all do that. But I can leave mine to soak as long as I want. Sorry for going off tangent... boy we are passionate about our laundry! LOL My thoughts - Do what works best for YOU!

Dryer sheets are toxic??? Everything is toxic if you ask the right person. I know people have allergies, and some have sensitive skin that would want to avoid using them - but eh. I use them sometimes, mainly for static in the winter. I do use some fabric softener also from time to time - mostly because it smells good. I am NOT one of those people who hate scents in their laundry! LOL I use it sometimes on my husbands flannel shirts. Never on towels - it makes them less absorbent. I know the new HE washing machines do not get clothes as clean as the old school washers do. So I would think the fabric softener could really build up over time.

When someone started spouting off how nice of things they had, I would always say that my Great Grandmother's baby bed was a dresser drawer and she turned out fine.
It generally confuses them enough they quite bragging. LOL

I do use my self clean cycle a few times a year, and my oven is sparkling clean.
A few things to note, if you have never used it before.
IT SMELLS! IT'S VERY HOT! It takes a LONG time to complete!
So if you can have an open window to ventilate, that is good. The smell can be quite strong, especially the first time. Do not leave anything on top of the stove or very close, that can melt. REMOVE THE RACKS! Do not run self clean with the racks in, or they will not slide easily after that. Check to see if your oven has different types of clean cycles. Mine has a light clean cycle that doesn't go as long. It is usually sufficient.
It takes several hours! Your oven will lock shut when it starts and stay locked until it is completely cool. Once cool, take a damp towel and wipe down all the surfaces inside to remove the residue that the self clean leaves behind. Wipe every part of the inside with just plain water damped old towel.

I am really trying to slim down my freezers contents - I have two very full deep freezers. I was managing pretty well, until we had an emergency butcher and kept pretty much the whole animal, because it was a stag. We didn't see that it was a stag until it was about to go on the semi to Omaha. So it was BIG and READY to butcher. I am not at all fond of bull meat, so I was not on board with this one. But since he had been in the pens with only steers and fed out fully - turns out he was quite good! LOL I have been trying to save some of his better cuts for special occasions. But I had pretty much one freezer full of beef when he went to the locker. I have a lot of sweet corn and other things - so I am seriously trying to thin down my beef.

I am making more of a conscious effort to not shop on Amazon. It's so easy, that I just order way to much from them.
My shipping time has just become too much, considering I am paying for Prime 2 Day shipping. They hold the item for days, before actually shipping it. So most times it takes at least 10 days to get something. I can get things from Walmart and Target in one to two days. I don't think using Walmart or Target is any less 'evil' than Amazon, really, but I am just not wanting to support Amazon any longer.
I ordered a new piece of stereo equipment the other day. I had it in my Amazon cart. I decided to search for other sources. I ended up going with B&H (I've ordered a lot of camera and printer equipment from them). I had my order in 2 days and was happy I didn't buy from Amazon.
I know it isn't much - but if more people stop using Amazon, they will have to feel it eventually!

Do you have to convert to be able to get married in the church? No Also, don't you have to make a sizable donation to the church to be able to have the ceremony there? No - but you generally give some type of donation. They are finding they must be members of the parish for a year and complete multiple classes before they can be married. This - he can't just say we are getting married in the Church, if he is not a member. I was married in the Catholic Church, but not in a Mass. There really wasn't much of any other choice, other than a courthouse wedding back then. Now there are so many more meaningful options that are acceptable.

I do not speak negatively of my husband, and he does not of me. I see it a lot, and I feel like these couples lack respect for their partner.
Do we joke sometimes - yes. But nothing really negative at all. We also do not fight.
My husband has always treated me with loyalty and respect and I do the same for him.
Today, we bought some calves. The seller sent him the weights so we could pay him, and my husband said "Let me give these to the Ranch Manager" - meaning me... LOL Even though it was kind of a joke, it still makes me feel good! Plus, I'll probably be writing that check!

holy crap, I watched the Golden Globes the other night and there is footage of her on the runway with Austin and I swore she looked really unwell or high or something. I saw a video of her on TikTok where she was coming down a couple stairs and needed help staying up. More than a 'high heels - I need help" kind of look. I though "oh man she doesn't look good at all" ... and then this.

We are sitting good, but we will never retire. DH might slow down in his 70's.. maybe. But that's a ways off yet. I am hoping by the time he hits 70, he quits the cows. More than 10 years for that though.

I wanted real ripe Florida oranges so bad! We stopped at a stand and I bought a bag. Good gravy - they were the absolute worst oranges I had ever had in my life!
I also bought a jar or orange marmalade and ended up tossing it.
I was so disappointed!

Oh my god, my kids LOVED going to birthday parties.
I live in a more rural area, so there wasn't a big choice of facilities, especially in the winter parts were either Rec swimming or bowling alley. Both were insane crazy fun. They absolutely loved them.
Their classmates pretty much remained the same from Kindergarten until graduation - so they were a pretty tight pack of friends.

I've always said the only way I'm leaving is feet first. I know it will get harder to live here as we age. 3 story house. I said the steps keep me active! But this is our farm house on our farm ground. We would never ever sell it. I think we would burn it down before we ever sold it.

Crocs aren’t gonna work here in a foot of snow I live on 40 acres and there are no sidewalks so crocs are not going to work. Sorry. Croc's have snowboots! My all time favorite snow boots are my Croc's AllCast 2 shearling boots. But I don't think they have them available anymore - but maybe they have something close. I wear these during the winter when we are loading out cattle. I have to wait for all the semi's to roll in and as each one loads, I have to make sure they have all the paper work needed at the packer. So I stand out there for a long time and it is usually colder than billy hell in January and February and muddy in March!

I am guessing you have tried Apple AirPods? Have you tried the different sized removable tips? Those have made a huge difference for me. I have the smallest ones on mine.
I have 1 generations AirPods, and those do make my ears hurt if I wear them a lot. I also have the 2nd generation ones (these have the removable tips) and I love them for comfort and noise blocking.

He was using a Snowcat, which is a tractor like machine on tracks, not wheels. He pulled out a family member, got out to talk to them and the Snowcat rolled over him.
I have known two people that have been killed, pulling someone out of snow. It is VERY dangerous. I told my kids in no uncertain terms when they were younger - you NEVER pull anyone out. Call the wrecker. ALWAYS.
We get people stopping sometimes to get pulled out and we just say we can't do it. We are happy to call a wrecker and they are more than welcome to come in our house to stay warm, but the liability of pulling someone out is too great, and too dangerous.

If only ANY grocery service delivered to her area. I live in a 'no delivery' area. But the local grocery store in the really small town will deliver. It is $10, and I have never used it - but for someone elderly, it would be great. And they are super nice and would bring it inside and have a short visit ... does she have any small town in her area? It's worth asking them.
