My Library is part of Bridges, which is the State of Iowa library's system. It's huge!

Not enough water.
I get this when I use my HE machine, that uses a very small amount of water.
I don't get this when I use my old school machine. My clothes are SO MUCH cleaner coming out of this machine than the HE machine.
Yes, I have two washing machines. LOL

If your wood surfaces are sealed really well, in advance of putting the chalk paint on, you might get it off. I wouldn't 100% guarantee it, so test first if you want to be really sure.

It was all I was seeing in TikTok, so I made an effort to get that out of my algorithm.
I am trying to make a conscious effort to not buy crap I don't need. I have too much junk and clutter and it does not make me happy. When I see them opening the boxes of stuff from TEMU, it is stuff I would probably order, then it would just clutter up my house. Cheap and crap I do not need.

One of tax documents doesn't get here until late March. It's frustrating. I know we should get it earlier, but it never comes before the end of March. We always wait on one K-1, which isn't required to be sent by Jan 31, like almost every other document. They deal with a lot of farmers, so they know we need ours done before March 1. I usually call them and they email me my K1 so I can get it to my accountant on usually the last day of the month. Frustrating!

I had the preliminary work done in December. We always meet with the CPA before the end of the year to decide where we are at with expenses vs income. Do we spend in current year or following year. We have major expenses that can be paid at either - it's just a matter of what day to pay!
We did end up paying this year. Did a pre-pay of about 23K, even though we haven't even filed yet. The federal tax will no longer be a deduction on Iowa taxes next year (thanks Governor) So if we went ahead and pre-paid what we estimated our tax to be we could still use it as a deduction. It's confusing. LOL
All the confusion of tax brackets and what one we want to be in. That is why we pay a CPA! I do all the work, as far as breaking everything down. He just enters the expenses as categorized by me. But his software does the magic of figuring out where we need to be as far as tax brackets, etc.
Ours are due the end of February.

I’m planning on doing a bunch of char siu this weekend. I would love to have a recipe or 'how to' for this! Sounds yummy! And different from what I usually make.

I love my Anova. It is not wi-fi, and I don't know that I would ever use that feature anyway.
I don't use it all the time, but when I do, the results are amazing. I have done quite a few beef roasts in mine this winter. Prime Rib and New York roasts. The last few I pre-seared, seasoned and then just cut and served when we were ready to eat. Christmas and other parties, so I didn't want to sear at the end with 20 people in my kitchen.

I can't feel your pain. LOL!
Though the prices you quote shock me, I would dearly love to have anything delivered to me. I remember one time when we were vacationing and stopped to see some friends. The opened the 'menu' drawer and told my kids to pick what they wanted delivered for supper. It was a concept that blew their minds. And when they went off to college, my daughter called me to say "Mom, I am having cookies delivered to my dorm!" - HA!
No Door Dash, Grub Hub, Pizza or groceries delivered to me. I'm happy UPS can get to me!

this reminds me of a TikTok I just saw recently, a girl was filming her daughter take out her professionally dry cleaned and packed wedding dress from the 80's and when she opened the box it was empty. Empty! Full of tissue and that's it! The storage box didn't have a window on it and she never thought to open it up to make sure it would be there, I mean, who would? Are we on the same TikTok algorithm? Do you also see a lot of cooking, farming, and cows? LOL I love TikTok, but I have to restrain myself to only watching it in the evening (instead of TV).

We have been in a dry cycle and the beavers have been busy! I have witnessed several beaver dams built on the creeks in our pastures. It's very interesting to see them. The food storage is pretty cool.
It's pretty amazing how they gnaw those trees to fell and also how much corn (stalks and all) they sneak off to build their dams. The paths through the corn show their activity.

Their overnight or 2 day delivery claim is a joke. I ordered several things yesterday that all said 2 day delivery yet when I checked my order status nothing is going to be delivered until Friday and I live less then 25 miles from a major distribution center. It takes 7-10 days for most of my Amazon Prime deliveries now. The catch? They don't actually ship the items for several days. I do not use the "shipping day" feature, where you can add all your items purchases to a certain day to ship. This happens with every order I make now. I am trying hard to funnel most of my purchases to Target or Walmart online. Not that they are not a big corporation too, but I get things in 1 to 2 days.

I'm not sure they're the best for flying because they don't work with seatback screens. For flying, DH and I bought the big magilla Bose noise cancelling headphones a few years ago. Now there are no crying babies, loud conversations or chatty seatmates. It's nirvana. It seemed like a stupid amount of money at the time, but worth every cent. I saw someone with a little device that plugged into the headphone jack on the screen that made it Bluetooth - so the airpods could hook up. The Bose headphones sound awesome! I am always paranoid about loosing an earbud on a plane, and it is so tight quarters, it's hard to hunt them up. You can buy a silicone band that hooks to the tips of the earbuds and goes around your neck, so if it falls out, it stays on you. One of my friends' son lost an earbud on a plane. The person behind him picked it up and would not give it back. The young man finally used the Find My app and made the missing bud play a sound, so the person who had it finally handed it over. People now days... Sigh..

But regular ultrapasteurized tastes the same as pasteurized, to me anyway. I can taste the difference. But I can taste things that other people in my house can't. I can also smell things they can't! When we are traveling through an area that has oil wells, I will say 'oh I can smell the wells" and my DH thinks I am nuts! Then pretty soon we see an oil well. I usually only buy AE milk (Anderson Erickson Dairy). AE is a regional dairy out of Des Moines. When I drink a different dairy's milk - I taste the difference, especially if it is a different region of the country. Most of the big Dairy's get their milk from a milk co-op or the same group of diary farmers. So the milk generally always tastes the same within that Dairy's group/region. My Mom always said she couldn't drink the milk when they pastured their milk cows on the wheat (winter wheat can be grazed in the fall). She said it tasted terrible. I can also taste beef that has been fed distillers, especially wet distillers. We don't feed any distillers.

I have both the original Apple AirPods and the AirPod Pro's. Love them both, but the originals do make my ears hurt if I wear them for a long time. Love the Pro's! I have a couple (cheap) off-brand's and they do not compare to the Apple ones. I also have an iPhone, so the ease in using them with the iPhone is so simple! The pro ones are too big for my ears. Have you tried all the different size tips? I use the smallest tip size and those work great for me. I had a different size on for a long time, and couldn't believe how much better I liked them when I switched to a small tip.

Is it Ultra Pasteurized? It is pasteurized at a much higher temp (but for just a couple seconds, then rapidly cooled). It has a super long shelf life, and can even be stored unrefrigerated. To me, it has a different taste, and I don't like it. OK in a pinch, but otherwise not for me. There is Fairlife milk - it is ultra pasteurized and ultra filtered. It's owned by Coke. I'd rather go to a more local dairy than a big corporation.

Good strawberries, with good chocolate? YES! But if they are very underripe berries or the chocolate is not great, then I don't love. Hate the chocolate oranges. Are you talking about the Terry's chocolate oranges? Oh my stars! I love those! I even found white chocolate ones this year.

What are temps like in your neck of the woods? It was -12º overnight here last night. I don't know the windchill, but it was windy. We need to know the actual temp and wind directions, to know how to close up our cattle barns. They were shut up tight last night. My husband said the barn with calves was about 10 above and the barn with the fats was almost 30. It's harder to keep the smaller animal barns warm, but 10 above is good! They were comfortable.

That's the only type of situation where I've really felt invisible - dealing with (male) tradespeople who defer to my husband and ignore me. I am finding that the younger males I deal with, for the most part, no longer do this as much. That, or they got the hint about me being a bitch. LOL Small town.

I've always flow under the radar, and I like it that way. My husband was with me. I asked the sales clerk, who happened to be male, a question, and he turned to my husband and answered him. I asked a follow up, and he did it again, and then again The entire (probably 10 minute) transaction was completed without him ever looking at me and speaking, even though I was the one who bought and returned the shirt. I walked out of that store and said to my husband that it was the weirdest experience I’d ever had. He hadn’t even noticed. 😂🤷🏼♀️ Oh - nothing NOTHING pisses me off more! When we first came back to the farm, I had insurance agents and other people do this to me. Or flat out ask if my husband can come in, or if it was "OK" with my husband. WHAT IN THE EVER LOVING HELL! My husband was really surprised, and he did start to notice it more. I told him I either get treated like I am not there, or if I do say anything, I am a "bitch"... and I told him be prepared for a bitch and my girls would be raised as bitches too. LOL Now when someone condescendingly asks him the question. He just says Why are you asking me?

My Radar Pro, for watching incoming weather. A (Semi) local meteorologists weather app, which is mostly powered by Baron Weather.
Not an app, but I like watching Ryan Hall (Ryan Hall Y'all) live broadcasts. I mostly watch on TikTok, but I think he is on every social media platform. I have sat through some storms where he was THE ONLY one who was watching the weather for me, in my podunk rural area. He was calling out town names and township names where I live. The TV weather stations (all out of Des Moines) were not covering anything all all for me. This was straight line winds and tornados that were impacting my area, and not the Des Moines metro. That's when I said I was done with the TV stations for weather. They only care about the rural areas after the storm has been through and there is damage or death. That's when they are on us like flies on poop.

phoenixcov Those are amazing! You might enjoy looking at this young man's (He is 13) photography! He photographs model cars, against normal size backgrounds. It's amazing what he can do with perspective! I have learned a few things from his style of photography and perspective, and I just use my phone for taking pictures! Here is his TikTok channel - you do not need to be signed up for TikTok to view them Anthony Schmidt Photography

I have used Handi-Wipes Heavy Duty forEVER! Nothing works as good as they do. They don't stink as long as you rinse and let dry flat, not in a wet ball. I do not like the regular Handi-Wipes - they are very thin and feel weird, but the Heavy Duty ones are wonderful. Mine last a very long time. I do use Clorox Cleanup and spray it on the wipe after using it to santize. I love the towels from Geometry House, and tried their "Not Paper Towels" and hated them. Yuck. I gave them to my daughter, who thinks they are just OK. She also loves the towels and the napkins. Geometry Towels

Top down, stacked if possible. I have a LOT of glassware.
I have a padded mesh cushioned liner on my shelves, to protect the glass. I wash it once or twice a year when (if) I clean out my cabinets.

Some people are just nuttier than a fruitcake... that is what I have concluded.
Living on a farm with livestock, your opinion of clean changes. The one thing both my husband and I were adamant about for our kids, was that they wash their hands well when they come in the house.
Washing a clean glass? That's obsessive.

My son lived in London for a semester. He loves peas and absolutely loved mushy peas with his fish & chips.
We have a British pub in the town he went to college in. We met him for supper there and all ordered the fish & chips. The owner was taking our order, and my son asked if he had mushy peas. This guy about hugged him and made him special mushy peas! LOL He said it was the first time someone had asked for them!

I hope this message gets out there. I know a young mom who absolutely harps on her kids to keep things perfectly neat. She comes unglued if there is any kind of mess - and by mess I mean kids just having some toys out to play. I feel bad for her kids.

My kids are grown & flown, but I had some fairly strict rules where it came to guns, both toys and real. My kids were taught how to use firearms at an early age, and the strict safety that comes with it. Guns are ALWAYS locked in a safe, with ammo locked in a different safe. When in transport, ALWAYS in a case.
None of my kids really ever wanted to hunt, other than a few pheasant hunts. We are lucky enough to own a great deal of prime grass/timber land that we run cows on. They spent a great deal of their childhood running those grounds on foot and horseback, and also building fence and checking cows. I just don't think they have the 'hunting gene' in them, but they love the outdoors.
That said, toy guns always bothered me a bit. I 100% expected them to treat them as if they were real. They had to have the bright orange tip, indicating they were toys (although there were a few old cap guns from grandparents days that didn't). They were to NEVER point a toy gun at a person. Playing that you were shooting another (real) person was not OK.
My son absolutely love playing 'army', and so did his friends. Even if they had no access to a toy gun, the thumb and pointer finger worked just fine.
I guess I'd rather see them out playing pretend, with some discussion on gun safety and the realities of it all, than parked in front of a video game absolutely slaughtering everything.
