I made a chocolate cake for DS's 15th birthday!

I've remembered off and on all day to take pictures. I had a really crappy afternoon so I was in such a bad mood that I forgot to take dinner pictures--and I even decided on nachos because that would be fun to document.

I took a photo of the brunch spread we got from a local restaurant...yum! But I was fine with no pictures with my boys because I didn't feel like looking presentable.

Ugh, this makes me nervous. DS has his first ever AP test tomorrow afternoon. I already knew I wanted to be here "just in case" but now I'm glad I'm going to be home. Hopefully all goes well for him because he's taking on his birthday!

No, but I've been tempted. I was looking at a small fridge at Sam's thinking it could probably fit somewhere in our basement, but some of the long-term reviews made me think twice so I haven't even brought up the idea to DH. We are planning to buy a new grill soon, but we've been needing to replace our old one for a couple of years ("not sure it's going to make it to the end of this year's grilling season" is what we've said for a while...)
I am glad that we bought a new laptop last fall for DH & our 14yo to use because the 14yo would not have gotten any school work done on the really old & slow laptop!

I wish I had been able to sit and play during the Prep Party--I only made it halfway through the DD prep party because I don't do much prep for DD. I've listened to all of the videos today and am excited to start tomorrow. I really like her list of prompts that she's using. I've tried doing those in past years, but struggled. I think it might be easier since I don't have that much going on.
It is weird that I'll be doing a WITL with no baseball in it! I'm doing it next week even though my oldest son's birthday will be during WITL again, but I can't wait any longer if I want to include my other son's online learning.

I look for PP by looking at the B sides--my LSS once had a good sale on single sheets in an aisle of older PP and I went through that entire aisle looking at the B sides for patterns/colors I could use for my boys' pages.

It is the best--I tried the self checkout one time and kept scanning the wrong bar code for items that are 2-packs so I haven't tried that again. I first tried the Scan & Go in late March and it was great skipping the lines!

I have the old styles, with a long handle and black lid. I use the 1quart the most--mainly cans of veggies. The 2quart is what I thaw/cook a box of frozen spinach in and sometimes a bag of frozen sliced carrots. I guess I really don't use them for anything else. I've heard of people using them for cooking ground beef in, but that sounds gross to me.

I'm ordering more online because I can't go to those stores and I'm sleeping in later because I don't have to get my boys up and off to school...but otherwise it's business as usual since DH & I never stopped working.

Despite cooking every night which means running the dishwasher & doing dishes more, I'm pretty sure we're using less water because our 14yo son isn't showering every night (because he doesn't do much during the day anymore)...that makes a HUGE difference!
We're on budget billing for gas & electric so I don't notice the difference unless I go looking at the monthly bills.

Similar to what other posters did, I made a copy of the plans when we did our kitchen remodel years ago and wrote on that paper where I wanted some things to go. I probably did this before it was all done so I could start unpacking things right away.
Our kitchen isn't huge, but I did decide to separate the cooking spices from the baking spices and supplies. That has helped a lot since now the baking stuff is right above the mixer. I did eventually get a smaller container so I could keep salt in both places.

I'll be honest--as an introvert who doesn't like big crowds anyway, not much has changed for me and I don't worry about being out and about. I'm still going to work, I'm still delivering flowers for my neighbor, I'm still going to Sams and the grocery store, I'm still eating out (just take out, not sit-down). I just miss going to church, my scrapbooking stores, and not having to use hand sanitizer when I'm out and about. I'm still planning to go to my son's baseball & football games whenever they play (thankfully his school doesn't draw large crowds!) My immediate family doesn't have health issues, but our parents are all older and if they still don't want to get together we'll abide by their wishes.

I would. I too was sick in early February with some "knock you down, fever, heavy chest, cough, etc." virus. I'm not claiming that it was the coronavirus, but I'm not going to rule it out either.

The second half of next year is a possibility - the info we had from our tourist advisory last week was that late June 2021 was 'realistically' when we could expect to be able to travel internationally again. They also added that 'pessimistically', it could be early 2022. lalalalalalala...not listening, need to stop reading...lalalalalalala... My son has a school trip to Germany/Switzerland/Austria planned for March 2021 and I'm getting nervous about it. At least it's far enough away that they can be better prepared for a delay than the school groups who had trips planned last month or this summer, but I'm still nervous.

I filled up at $0.99/gal on Friday in the suburb where I work, but places near my house are still $1.65ish. There's a Fleet Farm store in the suburb that drives down the prices in that area.

I just went there this morning needing albums, and didn't realize they quit selling them. I found them at craftsdirect.com and they were only $15.00 ea so I got 6. Hope they show up, never used that site before but saw a thread on here that they were good. Never heard of them either, but I also placed an order for some of their sale albums...and a lot more...

I was just about to book our cabin for our northern Minnesota trip in July when things started getting shut down. I wanted to go ahead and book it (naively not realizing how long it would continue on...) but DH said we should wait. I'm pretty sure he was worried about the financial part, not whether or not we would be able to go. I still want to go and would consider it because even though it's the busy time, it would be easy to be spread out.

Apparently not. I noticed a couple of months ago that they no longer had Bazzill cardstock, just a lot of this Park Lane paper that I've never heard of. Must be their own brand?

I definitely like waffles over pancakes. DH likes to experiment with both and some work better than others (not of fan of the gingerbread waffles he made--too sweet for even my sweet tooth!) I never use butter on either, but I do like any combination of maple syrup, Nutella, fruit and whipped cream.

Ours went into savings right away. It will either go towards our 12yo's tuition, our 14yo's car, or something fun, if we don't end up giving a chunk of it to our local Little League (if they can't play this year and have to refund the registration fees they will not survive until next year without donations from outside sources).

We have a small house with one bathroom and no extra bedrooms. If DH or I would get it we'd have to either still share a bed or kick one of the boys out of their room to commandeer it for one of us. We'd still have to share a bathroom among the 4 of use so that would up the chances of spreading.

Does anyone know how wide the spines are? I zoomed in on the 2nd picture of the Black album, it says it's a 1.5" ring. Even before seeing that I had a feeling it was less than 2 inches because it just looks skinny (but I'm also used to the 2.5" spines from AE. The PP say Simple stories on them so any set from them will work, as would any set not from Inked (such as Stampin' Up, Hobby Lobby, PL, etc.)

My boys are getting on my nerves with pictures--I don't usually want posed pictures because I prefer real life photos for my scrapbooks. But these days my youngest won't even leg me do that, he turns his head or moves out of the frame completely, ruining my shot. When I do want a posed shot it usually involves bribery...

DH is working his normal hours. He's an engineer at a company that designs steel forms for concrete buildings/roads/bridges etc. They are considered "essential" so they are still open. He has his own office & none of us have health issues to worry about. They are letting most people work from home if they want or need to, but DH will be going in as long as possible can because our Wi-Fi is too slow for what he needs, let alone what the boys & I need during the day. We also have a small house & it would be tight quarters.
I'm still working in the church office 2.5 days a week. I can cut back & do some of the work from home, but it's nice getting out of the house!

Other than Chick-fil-A, Chipotle and the occasional Panera, we almost always eat at local places during normal times. We're still eating out once or twice a week and following the same pattern. The local places are so much better than chains.

I'm having the same problem with a bag of frozen salmon fillets I got from Sam's. I know its sold by weight, but it was very frustrating to open it up and realize there are 7 fillets in there. The 4 of us love salmon so 7 fillets don't work well for us!

I think we'll be getting the full amount, but we don't "need" it since we're both still working. My first thought was that we'd use it for either our youngest son's tuition or our oldest son's first car (provided he can ever finish drivers ed & get a school permit) but DH mentioned saving it for a possible "save the little league" fund because if our neighborhood LL can't play this year & has to refund most/all of the registration fees there's a good chance they'll have to close without lots of outside aid.
