I've never thought to leave it in the oven--and we make pizza or bread almost weekly.

I had a "knock you out" sort of virus with some chest heaviness back in early February that didn't seem like the flu. My boss and his wife had the same thing, but worse (they both have underlying issues). I was down and out for a couple of days, but they were sick almost a week and had lingering coughs. I don't think it was Covid, but I'm not ruling it out. My boss's wife thinks it was, he's not so sure.

Our garage is a little bigger than a one-car garage and it's detached from the house. I used to park in it, but stopped when DS was born because it was already a tight fit and trying to get a car seat in was too much of a hassle. Then the garage slowly started filling up with kid stuff (and woodworking tools for DH). Now I'm not sure if my van would fit, even if the garage was empty. However, I have a remote start on my van so I'm OK keeping it outside.

I got a Barbie vibe from some of the interior pictures...hello, pink pool table!
But I agree, it feels more like a hotel or event place than a home, especially since the photos were mostly outdoor spaces or common areas (not bedrooms).

My youngest finished his work on the 14th which was a week before they would have been done in a normal year. My oldest finished his work over Memorial Day weekend which was a couple of days before the scheduled end.

My city has had a little bit of everything from peaceful vigils and demonstrations, to gatherings with rioting and looting. Thankfully the rioting and looting hasn't been as severe as in bigger cities, but it is still a little scary since one of the worst nights was at my neighborhood mall. There's been a lot of window breaking followed by tear gas throwing. We've had a curfew, but it doesn't seem to affect much (then again I'm rarely out that late anyway). They needed to start the curfew earlier on the night the demonstration was at the nearby mall because there was so much traffic that seemed to be just driving by and gawking (a few were supporting or antagonizing) but I'm amazed no one got hit by a car.

I have one more day's worth of photos to print out. Some years I embellish & finish each day as I go, but didn't do that this year so I still have a ways to go before I'm done.
But I am glad that I didn't offer my standard advice to first-timers very much this year. I usually tell my story of not being able to do my first week the same week as AE, but being happy that I did it the next week because I got to see her finished pages/stories as I documented my week...that would have been bad advise considering AE has only posted days of her album over two weeks later...

Baseball & softball are summer sports for high schools in Iowa--this is the only time I have been happy about it. Today schools can start practice & games will start in 2 weeks. Districts could opt out of playing if desired & some are doing varsity only. There are a ton of safety protocols in place by both the state & individually by the districts. My only complaints are the no concessions stands rule (it get freaking hot & humid in IA & sometimes you run out of drinks) and our district is requiring face masks for spectators during games...outside...while also social distancing...in the previously mentioned hot & humid IA weather. But if it means DS can play baseball (and get off the Xbox & other screens) then I'll deal with it.
As our principal put it, it's going to be a good test (on a small scale) for not only fall sports, but the fall semester.

My 15yo was in the middle of drivers ed when the shutdowns started. The company tried a couple of different times to reschedule, but with each reschedule came another extension of closures. They finally decided to finish the classes online and do the driving with masks. So he finally got to finish the course and passed! And despite the school closures I was able to get his school permit form signed by the principal. Then it looked like it might be all for nothing (at least for a couple of months) because it was looking like the summer baseball season might not happen. Then the governor said summer sports could play and the district agreed to let the teams play (our district cancelled spring sports before the state shut down spring sports). So the baseball and softball teams essentially get to be the guinea pigs on how to have school sports (or any school activities) with the virus. It's going to suck having to wear a mask during hot & humid summer games outside, but DS gets to play baseball and get out of the house! It also sucks because now we need to get him a car so he can get to school for practices and games because I'm still working several days a week. But at this point I'm happy about it all...this is the first time I've ever been happy that Iowa high schools play baseball and softball in the summer...
Other great news is that my 12yo gained 8lbs since his February weight check! He takes ADD meds that make him not want to eat and he's already a picky eater. But being home for most of that time was nice because he could eat more for lunch than at school (or at least more filling options). He didn't gain anything between his August physical and his February weight check so the pediatrician was a little concerned again.

I only get annoyed when someone dumps junk in our yard or if they are too close to our driveway (or if they park there during a snowstorm and don't move before the plough comes through). It can be frustrating when someone parks in the middle of the space because it is big enough for two cars. However we rarely park on the street because we don't usually need to (and because idiots fly down our street and we're afraid of getting hit).
I get more upset with the people who think they can park on the other side of our driveway--2 feet past our driveway is a sign saying "no parking from here to the street" because there's a stop sign about 10 feet past our driveway. When someone does park there, the person stopping at the stop sign is pretty much taking up the entire left lane so people coming the other way can't proceed.

I always lock my van, except for when I forget. There's always a big debate on the neighborhood Facebook page about this--some people say always lock, others say don't lock because if you do the thieves will just smash a window to get what they want (older neighborhood where most people have to park in driveways or on the street because the garages are too small). My solution is to keep nothing of interest in my van, just a bunch of junk!

I'm slowly making progress. My biggest hang-up is the journaling--I need to get it written down before I forget more of the week, but I just can't seem to force myself to do it. At least I'm working on printing my photos in the meantime...

I have had Hulu no ads for years and I watch a lot on it.
DH has Hulu Live so he and DS15 can watch sports and other channels. We switched from Sling and at the time the location on my laptop wasn't working so I couldn't watch Live on it so I kept my Hulu. Adding no ads and multiple screens would cost about the same as keeping my Hulu so we have two.
We get Netflix free through T-Mobile. Never had it before that and while there's quite a bit I am starting to watch, I'd probably drop it if I had to pay for it.
We have Disney+ and I need to combine it with my Hulu, but have never gotten around to it. DS12 watches this one the most.

My neighbor has an online flower shop and she's been very busy since late March. Easter was much busier than normal and Mother's Day was 2-3 times busier than normal (she ever ran out of flowers).

I went on a paper buying spree this weekend...not sure why because I haven't been scrapping much! I've looked at the stamp platforms before, but can't find a reason to commit. I also don't have room for anything more large things.
I did buy some crocheting supplies and kumihimo supplies for my youngest son. He learned how to do both in art class this year and really enjoyed them. I figured it would be something to keep him off his tablet/phone/XBox for a short time this summer... Hopefully he remembers how to do both of them (or can find some really good YouTube videos) because I don't know how to do either!

stopped making plans for a mid-July trip to northern Minnesota a couple of months ago. I really want to go this summer, but there are so many uncertainties with what MN might be allowing (haven't even looked into it) and whether or not DS will now be free during the 2 weeks we were looking at because if IA high schools get to play baseball the season might still be going then. What part of northern MN? I can tell you. Grand Marais/Gunflint Trail area.

Right now I'm not even sure we'll be able to go to my dad's lake this summer (3 hours away in Nebraska)...I really hope so!

Thankfully it's quite straightforward - click the Profile tab at the top, then on the right hand side click Edit Profile, then your avatar options pop up. There's quite a few choices but if you want your own photo/image you need to have it saved on your computer or wherever. I just tried, but it won't show me the avatars, just a box. But I am technologically challenged, so unfortunately, everything is hard for me to figure out! I got just an empty box too (and I'm on my laptop). So I finally just uploaded something since I was there anyway...

huskermom98 Crossing my fingers for you that this isn't nasty, whatever it is. Are you feeling a little better today, still breathing ok? Thanks for asking--I'm doing much better today, so well that I haven't even thought to take my temperature. I've been outside most of the day doing some yardwork and hanging with my youngest (and getting lots of WITL pictures!) Been breathing ok since it all started too.

Nope--and that's fine with me for once! I'm feeling good today and needed to get my youngest son outside for awhile after a long week of finishing class work, so I've been outside for hours. I did some weeding in a flower bed and then helped DH redo part of it, including splitting and moving hostas. I also spray painted a liner to put in a metal flower stand I've had in the garage for years. All of this we've been wanting to do for years, but we are usually spending so much of our free time at the ball fields that we only have time for mowing (and by we I mean DH!)
But I have been taking a lot of pictures for WITL, so that's at least crafty.

I'm still plugging along even though most of my photos are starting to look the same...and I'm not going to have a grocery store photo to include this year because DH did that this week! I've always done this project as MY week so I don't have to rely on others to take pictures for me, but on the other hand, I've never taken this many selfies before.
I'm feeling "ok". I seem to have an elevated fever either in the evening or morning, but the worst I've felt was just some chills and aches on Tuesday night. I'm tired, but not lethargic, could just be that I'm bored because it's the most I've been home in years.

We completely lucked out with our Mother's Day takeout--we usually do dinner so we can avoid the brunch crowd, but this we picked up a brunch deal at noon. From what I was reading on some local restaurant groups on FB, it sounded like everyone else tried to do dinner and it was a mess.
Even the florist I used to work for got slammed. She was expecting to be busy, but it was worse than she could have imagined. She definitely had at least twice the orders than normal, maybe even three times. Sounds like she even ran out of flowers!

My sister & stepsister didn't send announcements for their graduates, but it doesn't surprise me because they would seem like the two least likely to do it under these circumstances (not a knock against them, that's just their personalities...). It's also possible they didn't because the turnaround time between the final decision of how graduation was going to be handled (online) and the actual online ceremony on Mother's Day was too short to even try, so maybe why bother?

So this isn't how I expected my WITL to go! On Monday I got a nasty text from my flower shop boss because I couldn't do a delivery on Tuesday (I need to be home while DS12 is doing school work so he gets something done, DS14 was doing his first AP test and there had been issues with Monday's tests, plus DS14 was technically becoming DS15 and I wanted to bake his birthday cake--I've always technically been freelance and she's never had an issue if I couldn't do a delivery). So that ruined my Monday and I forgot to take pictures for awhile. On Tuesday I decided to quit the flower shop job because I didn't want to deal with her any more. Then I started to feel not great and by Tuesday night I had a low-grade fever, chills, and a headache. So here I am on Wednesday, isolating myself in my bedroom just in case. It's going to be a very boring photo day...

I'm planning to go next Wednesday with my boys. It's a small family office with a receptionist and two dentists (a husband and wife). They've sometimes had a third gal, but I think she's their daughter. Masks will be required in the waiting room.

DH is the bread maker in the house and he has been trying to sourdough. His first loaf of bread was not so great, but then made pizza crust from the started and that was not too bad (different, but not bad). He kept his starter in the oven overnight with the light on to help it along.
