We took three 1 mile walks during the day yesterday, my dog and I. Then he woke me up at 2:00am needing to go out (he is having a reaction to his vaccine) so we went for a mile walk in the middle of the night. I was just trying to stay awake!
It is finally warm and sunny today! It has been in the low 40s and 7 days of gloomy weather and rain. We have not seen the sun in so long, so it's been nice to go for a few long walks today and not have to bundle up in sweatshirt, heavy coat, hat and gloves.

It would have never occurred to me to do any of these things.
My husband used to travel all the time for work, and he is a bit more paranoid than I am so he probably did make sure his door was secured. And I could picture him buying one of those wedge things for when he travels alone. And he also always stayed in a very safe area in a nice hotel. My cousin's husband is a flight attendant, so I will have to ask if he ever had any scares.
I am more likely to worry about having my door locked and not being able to get out in a panic. I am extremely claustrophobic! And I never take an elevator in a hotel or anywhere. We stayed in a nice hotel in Charlotte for a bowl game this Dec. and I didn't realize that some nice hotels do not allow access to stairs! I nearly had a panic attack having to take the elevator.

I will probably get The Silent Bride - Shalini Borland. I love the books of hers that I have read. I also like Jennifer Weiner but because it's short stories, I will wait and get it from the library. I am listening to That Summer Place now. Big fan of hers!

Our winter weather puts me in a bad mood, but I am still walking a mile three times a day. With my long underwear, heavy coat, hat and gloves. My dog is my incentive as he needs exercise. No mindful daytime walks in our neighborhood as my dog doesn't like the other dogs sometimes. They have invisible fenses in front yards, so we don't realize the dog is there until it charges at us! So we do our mindful neighborhood walks at 11:00pm.
A walking trail in our area just started to allow dogs, so we may do our early morning and afternoon walks there sometimes. There is hardly anyone on that trail so it should be nice and relaxing! If it ever warms up!
While walking, I think about how nice it will be when I have decluttered and cleaned the house. It will be so calm after I get rid of all my stuff that is causing me stress.
I love the pictures everyone gets on their walks! I never take my phone with me, so no walking photos. But maybe once the trees turn green and the flowers start blooming, I may have to get some pictures to share!

I love my wedding and engagement ring and never take them off unless we are going to the beach or I am painting.
Well, the fall of 2021 I was painting so took them off. They were always loose and spun around my finger. I never put them back on because my dog had a neurological disease and could no longer use her back legs and she was incontinent. So I had to lift her with a special harness every time she needed to go out, in her wheelchair and to move around the house. I was so busy taking care of her I di din't bother to put the rings back on. So finally I wanted to wear them again. They no longer fit. I can't take my other rings off either. Whatever I did using the special harness for 10 months, my hands completely changed.
I really miss my rings!

Dh had this exact same conversation with our neighbor a couple weeks ago. Trees on their side but right up against the fence and near our garage. The next day the neighbor told us it would be $2200 to cut tree down and asked if we would pitch in. We gave them $700 and the tree was taken down within three days. Communication is not dhâs strong point so his conversation probably sounded very similar. I wasnât too excited to pitch in since we paid for the fence and didnât ask for help. But weâve lived here 13 years and even though they rent the house out, we havenât had any problems with them. We already love having the tree gone along with the worry of damage. Hi! It's so nice to see you posting. I have missed seeing you here at 2peas! Welcome back!

Congratulations! Can't wait to see pictures. So crazy how it worked out. Sounds like you have been keeping your eyes on the neighborhood for a while and saw the sale at the right time.

I have a Sip Club subscription at Panera. I got it last summer and love it! I live 1.5 miles (15 min, lots of traffic) from Panera and go by it every day. I get 75% lime Bubbly and 25% apple cherry (or something like that) or 25% strawberry mint lemonade mixed together. Love it!

I used it and it was fine but no better than other stuff. But people love it, so I need to learn more about it. Maybe I am not using it correctly or on the right things. Can't wait to hear what everyone uses it on.

This is just my opinion.
Because it's her job that makes the tuition much lower, that should count for something. Her spouse makes so much more, so I really think he should pay most (or all) of the tuition. She could be in charge of other things - keeping up with what the student needs to turn in, sign up for, etc. Of course that's the students job, but maybe she could check in and make sure student gets it completed (turn in housing agreement, medical forms, etc.). There are lots of "behind the scenes" things that need to be done and maybe she could over see that. And maybe she could buy the stuff her student needs to take to the dorm. Maybe she could be in charge of the move in, etc.
I haven't read many replies yet, so I may be missing important details, but I can read and learn! Just trying to think of how she could do a lot without having to pay as much as she makes much less. Of course if financial status of either changes, she may need to pay more.

I must have missed something, not sure what the significance is of Altoona. I live just a few hours from Altoona, so I would love to know what I am missing! Or is the signed pointed to the side of the road, and that's what's funny? We do have some funny signs in PA! Is it on the turnpike? No, it wasnât the sign that was funny. A very long time ago someone at 2Peas threatened to call the Altoona State Police to report another pea (or most of us? Lol) for something. Who or what I no longer recall. But I do seem to remember she used the full phrase âAltoona State Policeâ (I mean, rather than just the police or Altoona police), so when I was driving into Altoona and saw the âState Policeâ sign, it very much trigger this memory that I barely remember. Thanks for explaining! I bet you got a good laugh when you saw that sign!

I was reading The Soulmate, but am having a hard time getting into it. I may just skip it and read something else as I have a few books.
I am so bad at remembering what I just read. I read one regular book, one kindle book and an audio book, so I can't keep the titles straight! So that's why I haven't posted my books lately. I really need to write them down or something, haha!

Does it count if you walk your dog? I have been going on three to five almost 1 mile walks a day (each walk takes 15 min.). I never take my phone with me as I don't always have pockets and don't like to carry a phone on a walk. So I do get lots of thinking done on the walks! Usually it's about how to get my dog to behave better on walks though. It doesn't matter if you are walking your dog. However, the idea is to be mindful and if your dog is interfering with the intention then it probably won't be a great experiment for you. So you decide. We like to go on early walks at 7:00am and late walks at 11:00pm, so usually no one out at those times, especially late at night. So he is on good behavior then, so much easier to be mindful on those walks. No distractions as I never have my phone with me when I go walking.
Then the afternoon walks for training.

I can't text, I have to use the speaker phone function! With my accent, it gets a word wrong on most every text, so they are quite funny when the person I am texting asks me if I read my text.
So I am a sloppy texter.

My parents had fun picking out toys for the grandkids. They bought some Fisher Price things for when the kids were toddlers, then got baby toys at Target for when they were babies. They also got books at Target. They babysat my niece and nephew from neborn to 3 a few days a week, so they needed to have stuff at their house. My inlaws didn't have a lot at their house as my kids are the only grandkids, and they live 3 hrs. away. So we brought toys when we visited. And we had coloring books and crayons which they liked.

I love black with blue and most of the kids at my daughterâs school donât match their tuxes to their datesâ dresses DS was horrified that I came from a time where the boys would make sure the cumberbunds matched the girls dress. Haha, my daughters think that's funny too! They didn't know what their boyfriend/date was wearing until they met for pictures. The kids don't really worry about matching much at our school district.

I think he should pick a tux he likes just as his date should pick a dress she likes. Black tux and navy dress sounds like a great match! You will have to post pictures!

I hope you get it! I am from Maryland, so I hope you enjoy your time in Baltimore! We are loving it so far and taking advantage if being able to do so many day trips! Any suggestions for places er must see/go? I love Annapolis, it's probably about 45 minutes away. The "downtown" area is nice, shops, short boat tours, the Naval Academy is there too!

My aunts all got married at 16, which even when I was growing up, sounded absurdly young (my mother married at 19 which also sounded young, but was at least an adult age). I have thirteen-year-old twins and the idea that anyone their age is ready for marriage? I cannot. I teach middle school. 12 and 13 year girls are in no way ready to be married. Why are we only focused on the age of the girls? Would these same people be happy with 12 year old boys getting married. I think they are allowing both genders to marry at age 12. So ridiculous! But I agree that they would be appalled if a 12 yr. old boy got married, they just want the girls to suffer.

I love gray and white!! I just moved into a new apartment in January and part of the reason I picked this particular complex to live in is because they are currently renovating every unit. The new color scheme is gray and white. Medium gray flooring, light gray carpet in the bedroom, white paint on all the walls. No brown anything!! It makes me happy every time I walk in the door. Your apt. sounds beautiful!
I love the white and grey color scheme! I would like all of our cabinets white.
We don't have many cabinets at all, so that's why I can tolerate the oak cabinets. But I want to get them painted white. My husband says we can just get new white ones, but that could take 5-10 yrs (as whenever we want to do something nice for our house, another major project or car expense comes up). So I want to get a painter to paint them white for me. Problem is, we have white applicances and I don't know how that would look.

I love the white and grey color scheme! I would like all of our cabinets white. Our kitchen is not white and I want white. But unfortunately, that won't happen until we get our very expensive house issues taken care of and our kids are supporting themselves. Once that happens, I want to redo our kitchen, and spend a lot of money on fixing up our house!
Our kitchen cabinets are a medium dark wood and the only reason I can stand it is it's not too dark and we have hardly any cabinets. I want to hire a painter to paint them white, but our appliances are white and my husband won't want to buy all new appliances (stainess steel) just because. I would love all white wood furniture in our kitchen and family room. Iur house is all dark wood furniture as it's all my husbands family hand me downs. So we have to compromise.

We adopted a 3 yr. old plot hound mix a little more than 2 weeks ago.
We haven't left him alone yet (besides a quick 15 min). We don't trust him to be left alone as he seems to get into things.
Not his fault, he was brought in through the humane investigations and we don't think he was taught anything at his former home. He only knows "sit" but the humane society staff may have taught him sit. He lived with cats/dogs and their aggressive dogs at most of the food. He was underweight when we got him. He is very sweet!
We do have an old crate we can set up. Any other recommendations for what helped you with your dog if he/she had separation anxiety? We have a trainer coming in a week, so I hope I can learn a lot from her.

I don't like dark wood at all, but I think I may be in the minority. I love all white furniture and live in a house with all dark furniture (all hand me downs from my husband's side). He loves dark wood.
I understand why it's hard for you to paint the wood you love. If I had a house with all white wood, I would have a hard time painting it darker to sell better. I would ask your realtor what they recommend. It may not be worth the expense.
