I agree! We would bring our own chairs so that the kids could have them to use and I would get one at the pool. We also didn't want to take up chairs when the kids would be in the pool a lot. We also brought an umbrella because I didn't want to be in the sun all day.

One thing to consider, if you want to mow early in the morning. The grass may be wet with dew. Here, if you mow too early, the still wet grass makes a big clumpy mess. Not sure if that applies to where you are. Just wanted to put that out there. 😊 That's how it is where I live too, so I can't really mow until after 11 when the grass is dry.

So cute! Did you adopt him and they were guessing his breed? I want to get a DNA test for our dog, but I'm a little nervous! We adopted him 6 weeks ago and they thought he was a plott hound mix.

I can't stand when others think it's all about them and they don't care if they ruin other customer's experience. I would have been annoyed too!

I recently bought a frozen lasagna from Costco and it was actually really good, surprisingly so. I'd buy it again and I'm picky with lasagna. For easy prep meals I love TJs as well. Also just found some premade carnitas at Kroger that were a huge hit with staff for nurses week paired with nachos--El Real brand, and there are other prepped meats as well. I served Costco lasagna for lunch on Christmas day to 12 people and they all said that it was wonderful. (I have a dairy allergy, so didn't eat and and can't comment.) I was thrilled, as I had no time to make anything and the gathering (vs the meal) was the main event. Is the lasagna the kirkland brand, 3 pds.? I may have to try that!

Beautiful dogs! I hope you feel much better after surgery. My husband has the same problem with his shoulder. In fact, I sleep in another room because his sleep is so disrupted and he needs the entire bed due to his pain and trying to get comfortable.
How long until you can drive after surgery? I assume 6 weeks?

I have a lot on my plate, and that plate is about to overflow, I can feel the stress levels rising. I need your best short, medium and long term techniques to cope. About to go walk the dog, so that should help a bit but I need to build in some daily or weekly habits to improve my overall health. What works for you? Any help is appreciated, thanks. Last May I tried a version of something called "forest bathing" (you can google that term if you like). Basically taking walks in the forest, or around trees, no phone, no music, just in the moment. Since I can't walk much with my back problems, I also did a very simple version. I got an old blanket and drove to a big park close by afterwork, so like 3.30 or 4pm. Found a spot I liked under a big tree, laid down my blanket, laid on my back and watched the trees rustle in the wind. I literally did this at least twice a week. Sometimes I would get iced coffee on my way and lay there and drink it. I liked being in a park bc there were other people around. Being totally alone in some isolated forest or wooded area is not for me! The most important thing was that I did not look at my phone, read emails, watch Tiktok or anything else. I had my phone in case of emergency but all I did was stare at the sky for maybe 30 minutes. sometimes more, sometimes less. That's a great idea! I don't know that I would be able to do it as lyme's disease is so prevalent in our area, so I would worry about ticks. But it sounds like a wonderful relaxation technique. Sorry about your back problems. I have back problems a lot (sitting with a heating pad now) and it's frustrating.

I am bookmarking this thread because I need ideas. The last six weeks of the school year is insane (4 kids) and all I want to do is look forward to June 20th (last day of school) and crash and do nothing and DH has planned a trip on Memorial Day weekend (in the middle of the chaos), and another on June 24th (trip to celebrate dd graduating), and another one in early July (because the one for dd's graduating wasn't "special enough"). I keep trying to foist all the crap I have to do off on DH and he keeps adding more to the list. Anyway, I'm going to watch this thread because looking at my calendar is giving me anxiety... Hang in there! That is stressful! Your husband sounds like my husband, wanting to add trips to help with the stress. I know he means well, but trips add so much stress for me. I love the beach, but it is not relaxing. So busy and having to go to the boardwalk every night tires me out, haha! I guess I am getting old. I need a vacation after a trip to sit at home and do nothing. I don't understand how my husband, who works hard, wants to spend his time off traveling all the time. He has more energy than I do!

I have only heard of getting an engagement ring first, then at the wedding, getting a wedding ring. So wear the engagement ring for the wedding, then adding the wedding ring.
I didn't know some got the engagement ring at the wedding, but it makes sense if it's not in the budget when the couple gets engaged. I got my "engagement" ring after we were married for 10 yrs.! We were saving for a house, so no engagement rings or big wedding.

I agree with you and there is no way the kids should be without a life jacket even if they are olympic level swimmers. And your husband should be wearing one too, as if there is a problem, he will need to save his kids. And I would worry about them drivng the boat drunk. My neighbor's brother and three others on the boat were killed in a boating accident involving a drunk driver. I would be very strict on what is expected for their safety.

The breeder we got our dog from said to wait until he was 1 for his growth plates. My vet vehemently disagreed. She said that once the male dog starts the male dog behaviors ( humping things & marking things with urine etc ) they do not go back when they are neutered. In the end I adhered to the contract we had with the breeder and neutered him right after his 1st birthday. He, thankfully, had not developed the habit of humping things ( whew ) and he doesn’t really ‘mark’ things either. He only ever became territorial over a triangle of grass between my former house and my former neighbors and it’s mostly because their dogs marked that spot and my dog didn’t like that so he peed over their markings. A literally pissing match so the grass was always brown on that spot. Anyway, I don’t have any real experience with male dog behavior because mine did not start it prior to being neutered. Ok well, his penis used to ‘come out’ sometimes when he was sitting but I don’t think my dog ever was aware of it. It doesn’t happen anymore not sure if that’s age related or not. ( neutering did not affect that ) We adopted our 3 yr. old male plott hound mix 6 weeks ago. He was brought to the Humane Society through Cruelty Investigations and wasn't neutered until they got him in Jan. He is the messiest when he pees, he goes all over his front legs. We have to wipe him off with a baby wipe every time he goes out. And he has peed all over the house where my dog had an accident or my daughter's visiting cats have had accidents. So that makes sense that waiting to neuter makes them continue the marking behavior.

I am extremely grateful that I do not have to work. I can't imagine how hard it would be to work full time, and still have to do all of the household chores after work. Because I have all day to do housework, I actually enjoy decluttering/organizing/cleaning. Not cooking, I still hate to cook, haha!
In both my family and my husband's family, everyone does their share. My husband works 10 -12 hr. days 5 days a week and some weekends. I do the housework, laundry, shopping, yardwork and cooking. Besides his job, he also does minor car repairs, minor house repairs, the bills, our finances and anything tech related. If I need any help, he is happy to help me. When we both worked, we split the household chores 50-50. I have a lot more leisure time than my husband as our kids are in college/working, so no busyness with driving kids around.
Our parents all equally divide household work as they are retired. My brother and his wife as well as my sil and bil all work and split the household chores.

I would try to find the hygenist. My major fear of the dentist involves pain, and most of my pain comes from the cleaning (the other stuff too, but they give me novicaine for that, so it helps). So if I found a hygenist I loved, I would follow him or her wherever they move to.

Loved Never Lie! She is becoming one of my favorite authors! Freida McFadden’s new book, Ward D, came out yesterday, 5/8. Can’t wait to read this one. Hopefully by this weekend. Here’s the description ….. Medical student Amy Brenner is spending the night on a locked psychiatric ward. Amy has been dreading her evening working on Ward D, the hospital’s inpatient mental health unit. There are very specific reasons why she never wanted to do this required overnight rotation. Reasons nobody can ever find out. And as the hours tick by, Amy grows increasingly convinced something terrible is happening within these tightly secured walls. When patients and staff start to vanish without a trace, it becomes clear that everyone on the unit is in grave danger. I bought it for my kindle yesterday! Can't wait to read it.

Next up was Never Lie by Freida McFadden. This was thankfully a really short read, I know people rave about her novels but this was dreadful. Poorly written, so much telling and not enough showing. Dr Adrienne Hale is a renowned psychiatrist, she works with the patients that other psychiatrists can't help, she records their sessions and we're privy to some of those conversations, they go a bit like this. Hi Gail Hi Doc How are you today? Well, the pharmacist is trying to murder me so I haven't been taking my medication Oh Gail, you're so silly of course he isn't, you must take your medication Oh Doctor Hale, you're so right, I am silly. Thank you so much for curing me, you really are so smart. I've paraphrased of course but the therapy sessions are laughable and we're supposed to believe that Hale is top of her field. 2 stars and I'm never picking up another of her books. I’m the total opposite of you on this book. I read this last year and found it totally entertaining; 4 star read for me. I thought it went into a totally different direction than I expected. Loved the eerie vibe of the whole book. Glad there are millions of authors out there so we can all find books we enjoy. Happy hunting ! Loved Never Lie! She is becoming one of my favorite authors!

I hope you feel better jeremysgirl. Thinking of you!
We were supposed to have rain all day and shockingly it was actually warm (62 which is 20 degrees warmer than last week) and didn't rain! So had a nice walk with just my dog this morning, with a friend this afternoon and with my husband this evening. I
t was pretty stressful, my thoughts. We have three major house repairs coming up which will cost thousands of dollars. So it's been a very stressful time at our house. So I really appreciated the day wthout rain because the gloomy weather has really been depressing all of us.

I hope you have a great time at the concert. I love that band!
Another gloomy day with rain. But it may stop raining on Wed. So we will be at 11/13 days of rain. But the dog motivates me to walk in the rain so we got a few miles worth of walks! I notice how green the grass is and everyone's grass is getting so tall as it's hard to cut the grass with only a couple of dry days. Even though it's been so cold, the grass is still growing and so are the tulips. I love the spring flowers!
I will say having a dog has really helped my sleep. I haven't taken sleep aids (tylenol pm or benadryl) but a small number of times in the past 6 weeks! I usually would take 1-2 every night.

On my walk today I was just thinking about how happy I was that I didn't have to wear a winter coat and hat and enjoyed the sweatshirt only weather! And we saw the sun today and yesterday! We had 7 straight days of rain (not unusual at all for southweat PA) and it was really depressing. My dog an d I will go on our late night walk in a few hours. That's always nice because no one else is out, we have the neighborhood to ourselves!

Satin on all of our walls. I can't stand the feel of matte or flat paint. maryland just curious question- are your walls non-textured and smooth? Would you have a different opinion if textured because you would be able to feel the texture vs. smooth? Our celing is textured but our walls are smooth. AT our previous house, a new build, they painted with flat paint and the rooms seemed so much darker. We hired a painter for the family room as it was 2 stories high, and he said the satin would help with the lighting. I know I am not expalaining it well!
