That is just sick! As a granny of a newborn, I am appalled and so much more than angry. She could have hurt the babies she was messing with.
She should be dishonorably discharged.

If she has runner's diarrhea, she must know it by now, otherwise she wouldn't be carrying paper towels to clean herself up with. The responsible thing to do would be to wear an adult diaper when she runs and not just drop her "business" where she wants.
To me, it sounds more like a mental health issue.
As an aside,I read somewhere that Hitler's mother used to defecate in their neighbors' yards.

Just an extra way to identify you so they don't mix you up with another patient during registration. It is amazing how many people have the same first and last names and the confusion it causes.
You don't have to give that info to them if you don't want to.

So, is Jaime going to switch alliances? And, it looks like Cersi cannot kill her own family. Looks like that could be her downfall.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone. She is a beautiful little girl and we are just totally in love with her!
I appreciate all of the advice and I now feel validated in sticking to my guns about wanting to wait awhile. The pressure is incredible right now, but I think it is wisest to wait and see. The kids are doing fine right now, and DD's inlaws are close by them, so I think for now, I am staying put and just keeping in touch.
Thanks again-- it is such a gift to have a supportive community to bounce things off.

Thanks everyone. My instinct is to wait a bit and see what's what, but DH really wants to move. I appreciate your support. I am so beyond thrilled that she is here and I can't wait to see her personality unfold.

It's still early days, and a DS diagnosis can mean all kinds of things, in terms of what sort of help if any might be needed. Express your support and willingness to help however you can. As time goes along, mention that you've considered moving in order to be of more help and see how that's received. They'll need some time to figure out what their new normal will be (as with any baby!) and to see how DGD's diagnosis may change their expectation of what life as 3 would be. The thing is that DD has wanted us to move there since DGS who is 2 was born! She would be over the moon if we moved today, lol. But I really don't want to interfere with their family and DSIL does not say much, so I don't know how he really feels. My own mom was a pretty uninvolved grandparent, and I don't want to be that way, but I don't want to overdo things either. So hard to strike that balance.

Congrats on the Birth of your precious Granddaughter, you are in for a life full of joy and laughter. At this point I wouldn't make any big decisions, just wait and see. Thanks for the congrats. I am so thrilled to have a little granddaughter! I think DH is willing to wait until next spring, since we have a little work to do to the house before we sell it. I think that is wise.

Good news: I have a new granddaughter and she is absolutely precious!
My Issue: Natalie (DGD) was diagnosed with Down syndrome shortly after birth. DD and DSIL and family live about an hour away. DH and I are empty nesters with DH retired and I am still working, but mostly from home, going into the office 1-2 days per week usually. It's about a 40 minute drive for me into work.
DH wants to move to the area where DD and family live to be closer to help out with things. I am tempted, but I also love our house and area, and DS and his GF live about 10 minutes from us. My drive to work would increase by about 20 miles, but time-wise would be about 15-20 minutes more (in good weather), because of less traffic down that way.
I don't know-- I hate to leave DS and GS (who I think will eventually marry and have kids) and my home, community, etc., but at the same time, I want to be more available to help with DD and family. Or should I just wait and see?

As long as women (and girls) are viewed as property of males, these kind of abuses will continue. It makes me sick.

I think it comes down to how much time a housekeeper is given to clean a room. My suspicion is that the times are unreasonably low, which makes it tempting to cut corners. So although the official line is that linens get changed between guests, if the room is left in a mess, the housekeeper may "sacrifice" changing the bedding to stay within the limits.

I think we need some more major political parties. The two main ones (I know there are other parties, but they are just not palatable for most people) are not serving us well.
ETA: or maybe no parties. Everyone who runs for office runs on their own merits.

So I wonder, how much of liking a food is taste and how much is texture? Or does it depend on the person eating it?

I feel the same way about baked potato chips. Anyone with me, or am I just crazy?

I love When Breath Becomes Air. I also recently read The Handmaid's Tale and Orange is the New Black, both of which are very different from the tv shows they inspired, but really thought provoking books

Yes, I just finished watching the latest episode...wow! There are a lot of surprises. I read the book and am glad that the series is expanding the perspectives more. I can't wait until next week's episode. So glad there's going to be a Season 2! I hadn't heard there was going to be a Season 2, but I am glad. I am loving the story and the way the characters are developed.

In the process of planting my raised beds. So far, tomatoes, sweet peppers, broccoli, and some herbs. I need to put together another box and plant some squash and beans.
I'm pretty new to this, but had good luck with tomatoes and herbs last year, so I thought I'd try a few more things.

I think I'm addicted!
I read the book and someone mentioned to me that Hulu had a series based on it. This is one of the few times I like the book and the TV/movie equally well.

I stopped at the 40% tax rate. The 40% is on an increment of their income, not on the whole of their income. Until they come clean about how much tax they are really paying and on the amount of their deductions, there is no way to tell what the $$ they really have are.
