Mine is named Leda, because she told me so. And DH's is named Beau for the same reason. Yeah, I'm nuts.

Yeah, the seatbelt thing. He waits until we're on a busy road or turning a corner to put the stinking thing on. And the barging into the bathroom thing. It brings back memories of when the kids were toddlers. Also: He makes sure I always have to wait for him. If he is ready to go somewhere before I am, he starts a task and then when I'm ready to go he insists on completing it so I end up waiting. If we're taking a trip, he discovers that he's forgotten something important (like his insulin) when we are at least 30 minutes down the highway. I work from home several days a week and he thinks that I am available to visit any time (he is retired and a little bored). He even put a chair for himself in my office and gets offended if I put anything on it. He is a good man, but sometimes I just want to scream. Of course, I am sure I never irritate him!

Not sure. When we bought it, the seller told us it was 1600 square feet. We recently got an estimate for insulation and they told us 1500 square feet. So I guess, somewhere in between the two.

Life is too short to read a bad book.
I do give a book a fighting chance (some are just slow starters). I have even gone so far as to read ahead to see if it gets better.
But if it's poorly written, I abandon it within a chapter or two with no guilt. Bad writing annoys the crap out of me.

I work in a hospital and read medical records all day long. Yeah, I imagine lots of horrible stuff for the most benign symptoms. Every ache and pain that I have or anyone I know has is a dreadful disease in my mind. I have to talk myself down constantly.

I refuse to watch Fox news so I have no idea how this is being defended. How is any of this current clusterfuck being defended? Basically they are saying that the detained children are being held in what is just like "summer camp". I wonder if the Trump administrators and supporters would agree to send their children to such a camp?

Sometimes those kinds of questions are asked because the interviewer(s) want to see how you handle an inappropriate question. It's unnerving, but they want to see how you would gracefully handle a sticky situation.

The Whites are buried in bc as well along with Sojourner Truth. For a crappy town, it's actually very rich in history - Seventh Day Adventist, Kellogg's, Post, Truth, and more. More Michigan knowledge! I lived in Battle Creek for a short time as a child and never knew any of this. I hope these things are taught in schools now.

I am a Christian but I guess I never thought suicide equals Hell. I'm with you. I remember a classmate telling me that my dad was in hell because he died from suicide. It was probably the most hurtful thing that anyone has ever said to me. (Of course now I realize that we were children and she was probably just repeating what she had been hearing at home.) Not my finest hour, but I said," Then say hello to him when you see him because you are going there for being so mean." I remember that there was a big fuss with her mom calling mine, and my mom saying, "Your kid got what she deserved. Maybe you ought to try teaching her some tact."

My dad died from suicide when I was a little girl, so I could be just a little sensitive on the subject.
I prefer just to say "died" or "passed away", but when discussing the cause of death, I guess I just say "died from suicide" or from depression.
I agree that the method of suicide is nobody's business. I can't think of any other cause of death where people want to know the details right before the individual passed. When my mom died from congestive heart failure, no one asked "Did she gasp for air?" "Was she bedridden, or did she just keel over?", etc. But plenty of people asked me (about my dad) "how did he do it?"

Italian salad dressing. Does not matter if it is a cheap brand or not. Love marinating chicken in Italian dressing. Sometimes I like to add some Catalina dressing too for something different.

I am loving Stitch Fix so far. I am fat and in my 50's. Be as specific as you can with your stylist, and I strongly recommend creating a Stitch Fix Pinterest board for your stylist to look at. I have liked everything I have gotten so far.

I am so sorry you and your sister and her husband are dealing with this.
I get the impression that you are worried that they will not deal well with the possibility that there is a primary cancer somewhere else; that it will be overwhelming for them.
I work in healthcare and know just enough to be paranoid, and in my experience with family members facing health challenges, I am more helpful after they get "news", if that makes sense. I see my role as supportive, so even if I know there is more to what they understand, I just try to help them navigate their care and give them suggestions on what kinds of questions to ask.
It's a hard thing to do, because since we love them, we want to fix things for them. But in the end, the journey is theirs, and we can only be companions and guides.
My prayers are with you and your family.

I never mind the end of a book being "spoiled". I like to see how the author gets from the beginning to the end and how the plot and characters develop. But that's just me. Some folks like to be surprised.

That's how life is, though. Love does not depend on a child having the same experience as a sibling.
Don't beat yourself up. Your child feels loved by the way you relate to him/her. Not what your life circumstances are.

Yeah, for some of the docs at work. I know their names, but I like the ones I make up better:
Dr. Smell Good (wears too much cologne) Dr. Grumpy Pants (A real curmudgeon) Dr. Walks-on-Water (he thinks he does) Dr. Epic God (he thinks he knows everything there is to know about the electronic record, by that name) Dr. Jerk (for obvious reasons)
I have more, but that's enough.
