Interesting, they are calling the previously released stamps & dies in the kits a "Special 50th Anniversary Gift".

If you really want gel, I like the Beetles brand polish from amazon. This is the light I have UV light although it was not nearly this expensive when I bought it. If you want long lasting polish, I cannot recommend Dazzle Dry enough. It’s expensive but so worth it. I get well over 3 weeks with no chips. The best part is that it comes off with regular nail polish remover.

I'm so excited there are other signing up too. I have a lot of the folders already and have very similar folders for most of the ones I don't have. The only 2 that I'm tempted to buy are the Gina K tapestry and petite flourish but I'm trying to restrain myself. However, the moment someone puts a coupon code in MichyM other post I might cave.

Has anyone used the inexpensive acrylic craft paint with a stencil? Any tips?
I don’t have any silver ink or paste and I’m really looking for a shiny silver option so I was going to use silver craft paint on one of the layers. I thought I’d apply it with a foamed foam applicator but that’s as far as I’ve gotten.

Shakti Most stamp company websites state where the product is manufactured because the China die thing was such a big deal years ago. I think almost all of the popular companies manufacture their stamps in the US so people assumed the same thing about the dies. When it came out that they were manufactured in China there was a pretty big kerfuffle. The PFS FAQ Page says "All of our stamps are manufactured in the USA." and "All of our dies are manufactured in China.." I cannot find any where on The Stamp Market website anything about where their dies are manufactured. I do wonder if the white dies have something to do with them not ending up on AE or Temu. I just checked The Greetery About Us and their website says "We specialize in quality clear photopolymer stamps, steel dies, and stencils -- all designed for with the paper crafter in mind. All of our products here at The Greetery are made in the USA. We believe in providing quality products that inspire creativity!" Their dies are listed on that same link I gave earlier and their new release was there the day after the launched their new release last week. I have to say I'm shocked that The Greetery dies are made in the USA considering they are likely smaller that Gina K and she can't afford to get hers made in the USA.

It’s the same on the baking groups too. Someone will ask some rookie question (and honestly, we’ve all been there so the same questions get asked repeatedly) and people will jump all over them in their responses. I get it, there’s a search bar for a reason but people can (and should) still be kind. This has been happening in the cardmaking groups too. Gina K just made a long post on Saturday to address the issues. Most of the problems seem to come from the people who want to police the group, and quickly respond with “Contact customer service. That’s a product issue.” They even say all they want to see is pictures for inspiration. Wow, that was an interesting post by Gina K. She sure had a lot to say. I find that group to be a weird one. I look occasionally but the fangirling is just over the top most of the time.

This is surprising to me. If the reason TSM dies don't get ripped off is because they're made in the US, how do SSS's get duplicated? I didn't see the newest ones on AE this morning, but I did see some older ones. SSS New Release DiesThis is a store I frequently buy from. I've never had bad product from them and they sell stencils too. ETA: They already have the Pink Fresh Studio products that were released yesterday.

I needed a chick flick/RomCom night last night so watched Anybody But You, No Hard Feelings and Love At First Sight on Netflix. They all fit the bill and were worth the watch if that’s the mood you’re in.

the stamp set was terrible quality. The stamps are acrylic not photopolymer so the stamp quality is horrible. I do not recommend buying stamps from AE or Temu. You will most likely be extremely disappointed.

I also wonder, if SSS makes their dies in the US, why doesn't anyone else? Or maybe that's TSM's trick? Yes, it is...I just dug into my Christmas box and my TSM die set from the Pinkfresh holiday event very clearly says "Made in the USA." There's only one US manufacturer and they requires such a large quantity to be ordered that it's not cost effective for most small stamp companies to use them so the only alternative is to use a manufacturer in China. This has been mentioned a few times on the Gina K Facebook page when people question why her dies are not US made. Interesting about the TSM. That very well could be why her prices are so expensive but I'm not sure that's why her dies do not end up on AE. New SSS branded dies are listed on AE the day they are released or very soon after.

Being protected by the SS isn’t a perk for the person, it is a necessity for the security of the country. It’s not for him, it’s for all of us. Like him or not (and I don’t), I don’t want him in enemy hands. Think of all the information he knows. I think the SS should be consulted on prison security and plans. I don’t think they should be prisoners with him, but being prison guards isn’t out of the realm of reasonable solutions for this scenario. Bullshit. He's already divulged classified information when it benefits him. Lock him up in gen pop and lets be done with his disgusting ass.

Given that most of the dies are probably manufactured in China as it is (SSS being the only exception of which I am aware), the US designer bears the cost of design, design teams to provide inspiration, and the initial equipment set up cost to manufacture; the Chinese then manufacture more for domestic (to them) retailers who can undercut the designer by not needing to foot the bill for those start up expenses. I get this, I really do. However, I just received a die set from AE that cost $3.80. The US company is selling the set for $35. That's a 89% difference! That difference is astounding for the same quality product so that's why people buy from AE & Temu. If US companies had reasonable prices, I'd buy from them. Additionally, you cannot find The Stamp Market dies on AE or Temu. Why is that? What are they doing different from all the other companies?

I purchase metal dies from AE a lot. In my experience, they are same quality although the size may vary.
I will say, if dies were reasonably priced, I would not shop there. There is no reason for the high price point of dies from the stamp companies. If Gina Marie Designs can sell a cover plate or nesting dies for $10, so can all the other companies.

I didn’t realize they needed to be dry, how long do you usually wait? I’m a really slow crafter and I was using tape rather than a sticky mat, and stenciling in other colors before I tried adding the second layer. I’m going to play around and see the difference between time to dry and not so I learn how that works. Yes, I was using a stencil, I’m pretty much lifting her “Yay” card here. and I was using new foamy ink blending brushes that I’m pretty sure were pea recommended. I just checked it against the sample card I stamped, and the other 3 cards I did and I realized what probably happened. I think I probably got a little bit of orange from the top of the stencil on it. So, it’s not muddy, just not as vibrant as I was hoping. I'm a pretty slow crafter as well, by the time I line up the next stencil, find my brush/ink and start blending my first layer is usually dry. One thing I will recommend is getting a small spray bottle and filling it with isopropyl alcohol to clean your stencils after each use. This will help not mixing colors. Cleaning with a dry cloth is ok but you really need the alcohol. I also go thru a lot of post it notes masking different pieces of the stencil. I was not good at blending with the the Tim Holtz foam applicators which is similar to your brushes. I would actually recommend blending brushes with bristles. You may get better results. These are what I use: Blending Brushes. I don't really wash my brushes but I rub them over a paper towel before using them to get the last color off. I mainly have 1 brush, in multiple sizes, per color family but I do separate blues (one for light & one for dark inks) and a separate brush for my aqua/teal colors since they are both blue and green. If you didn't get some of the detail blending brushes from Altenew, definitely check Amazon. I have these Detail Brushes and these Detail BrushesAs for Distress Inks, I have most of the regulars in mini cubes and a lot of the Oxides. I LOVE the Oxides for ink blending. They blend so smooth and easy. I could never get my regular distress inks to blend but that was back when I was using the TH blending tools. I may get better results with blending brushes now. I honestly haven't reached for my regular distress inks in over a year. The last time I used them was for a class where we used them for watercoloring. In my opinion, regular distress inks are not meant for stamping images. They are for techniques. I would not recommend getting regular distress inks instead of other dye inks. Definitely get other opinions on this because I may be a lone dissenter. I would highly recommend Oxides but in addition to all your other inks.

dewryce This is a great question. I've never mixed pigment and dye inks but I have seen Jennifer McGuire do it with white pigment ink. She will stamp white pigment ink on dark colored cardstock, heat set it then stamp dye ink on top. You do see the dye ink color but it's not super vibrant. But it's a the only way to get dye ink to show up on dark cardstock. She has also stamped/ink blended dye ink first (on white cardstock), heat set it then stamped/ink blended white pigment ink on top to soften the color. They key to each of these techniques is to heat set the ink before applying the other on top. Do you have a stamp positioning tool? To get a crisp black line of ink stamped most of the time you have to double and triple stamp the image. I'm not sure which Gina K black amalgam ink you were using but I can tell you I trashed my full size obsidian black ink pad because I just could not get a clear image. I have an old discontinued GK jet black amalgam ink pad that I love. Black inks vary so much, it's really trying them all out and finding out what you like best. I'm in the market for a new one since mine needs to be re-inked and re-inkers are discontinued too. On the topic of your aqua pallet being muddy. It makes a huge difference, even with dye ink, when the ink is not completely dry and you overlap another color. Those two colors look like they would work well together so I'm perplexed by them being muddy. Were you ink blending on a stencil? If so, what were you use to ink blend with? I will say, all dye inks dry lighter. If you stamp or ink blend today they will look a lot different tomorrow. I'm almost positive all the ink pads that are made in the USA (which is posted on each stamp companies website) are manufactured by Stewart Superior. Some companies use the same color but brand it with their own label and some have customers colors made. As for brand of inks to purchase, are you looking for a good core color selection or are you looking for a light/medium/dark color family for ink blending. If you are looking for just a set of core colors I'd look into Concord & 9th, Gina K or Taylored Expressions. If you are looking for light/medium/dark color family for ink blending I'd highly recommend Pink Fresh.

It also really bothers me - if someone likes Taylor so much that they want to wear merchandise, why wouldn’t they support her by buying legit, authorized merchandise? That's simple. Paying $70 for a sweatshirt that cost $5 is ridiculous. Just like anything else, if the prices were reasonable, there'd be no reason for knock-offs.
