I just mailed my Christmas photo cards to my family. And of course kept one for my album to scrap. Working on mine today--our church does a big card exchange so I'm trying to get my letter done and attached to my photo cards today so I can take them in tomorrow...and then hopefully get the rest sent out before Christmas!

Well I guess you could say I got my missing zipper pouch from SC in my Black Friday sale box...but it is one of the old styles because it is housing a City Sidewalks documenter kit!!! I didn't order one, but it was in my box anyway so we'll call it good...

The pineapple doesn't bother me, but the pie filling doesn't sound good. With other cherries and especially cool whip it would sound better.

Yes! DH uses it all of the time when making bread, but we also use it for other things (cheese, pasta, and even cereal when I make Chex mix since I use half a box of several different kinds of Chex.)

I got the Kiwi Crate box for my 11yo for several months this past year. He loved it at first and had a blast putting things together all by himself, but once school started up this year he lost interested and said it could be cancelled. The boxes he got were pretty cool though and he could almost always easily put things together without adult help.
I've looked into the Raddish kit and want to try it for him, but his cooking interest comes and goes (plus he can be pretty picky) but maybe this summer I'll try it.

Its pretty rare that we watch anything together and when we do it's usually some sort of sporting event. I do have to limit how much Nebraska football I can watch with him because I can't take his pessimistic complaining and yelling...yes, we've sucked for the last few years, and while I'm a lifelong die-hard fan, it's just a game.

DH bought spools for the outdoor lights, I still use rolled up newspaper for the tree lights (made those rolls back in college in the mid-90s!)

Another reason--aside from there not being a lot of room in the pan for roasting potatoes (and any other veggies) is that turkeys take a long time to cook. We plan at least 5-6 hours for our turkey because it's 20-24 pounds and stuffed as full as possible with stuffing (only reason we have a turkey that size is because it's DH's Cmas bonus every year...big huge frozen turkey handed out on thee 23rd of December!)

When I need them to have one is when they get/got one.
For my oldest that was early on in 7th grade (he was 12) when he started doing middle school sports. Before that either DH or I took him to and from every sports event and pretty much everything else so there was no need for him to have one. My youngest is in 6th grade and doesn't have one yet because I haven't needed him to have one yet. He asked about one for a while, but at some point realized that he liked his tablet better for watching and playing--the only upside of a phone would be being able to do that stuff outside of the house (and we don't require him to go to big brother's events that are close by so it's not a huge issue).

I picked up both the main kit and the teen kit. I really liked the combination of colors in both kits, but there's too much with wood grain for me personally. I'm not sure how much of the teen sticker kit I'll use since my boys don't skateboard or snowboard, but I liked the rest of the kit enough to try it out. Shipping was a bit of a surprise, but it is a bigger box because of the 12x12s. If shipping doesn't improve with the addition of subscription options then it will definitely be a hit & miss kit selection for me in the future.
I will also be skipping the unboxing videos...not sure who that gal is, but I won't be able to listen to her every month.

If I haven't complained about it lately, here it goes...why why why can't scrappy places have "Black Friday" sales in the summer??? I should be buying Christmas presents, but all I'm looking at are scrappy goods because those are the emails I get (and look at!) So far I've placed orders at SC, AE, Elle's, and also picked up the first kits from Not Just for Boys, but have only picked up a couple of Cmas gifts (and few other things because the prices were so good). Part of my problem is that I don't know what to get my youngest and I'd rather get my oldest a school trip to Germany/Austria/Switzerland next year (instead of a lot of gifts), but we haven't decided if that's going to happen...

Because they’re delicious!!!! There is nothing better than grabbing a bite of turkey and then also grabbing a bite of mashed potatoes on the same forkfull and eating them together. It is one of my favorite things. Pretty much all meats are made better by being dipped into mashed potatoes. 🤤 Adding gravy and stuffing to that bite of turkey and mashed potatoes...that's how you make it better!!! But really, they are cheap and easy to make (either while the turkey is cooking or ahead of time) and the other reason would probably be tradition.

Food: Mashed potatoes Stuffing Green Beans Gravy Duck (because we just decided last night to not risk driving to the in-laws because of bad weather and stay home instead...no time for thawing a turkey, but we had a wild duck and a grocery store duck in the freezer). Peach Cobbler ala Pioneer Woman for dessert Unsung Hero Shiraz
Décor: usual crap that's piled up on our table!!!

This may be the first Thanksgiving weekend where I sleep in my bed every single night!!! (At least since I can remember anything about thanksgivings--probably before junior high...) We are supposed to be in Nebraska right now but the in-laws got a lot of snow and tomorrow's weather isn't great so we stayed home. We'll still go to my Mom's gathering on Saturday, but we might make it a day trip.

Whenever we make a turkey dinner, the only thing boxed is the gravy...I can't for the life of me make gravy from my turkey drippings. Trader Joe's makes a pretty decent boxed gravy so I use that. Potatoes and stuffing are always from scratch.
When we gather with at my dad's house, no matter what the menu is I bring green bean casserole fixings. Most of the family loves it and it's one dish I can bring & assemble there without any issue since it's all cans except for the milk (which I either pick up on the way or bring along if I'm already taking a cooler for other things.)a

We're expecting 2-4" of snow on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning in Eastern Nebraska. It's supposed to stop by 9am Wednesday. Thursday is expected to be mostly rain. Western Nebraska is getting the real snow like Colorado. We're driving into this mess on Thursday (but I wouldn't be sad to skip driving to the in-laws!) Here in central IA we aren't supposed to get most of the snow, but the wind could be pretty bad on Wednesday. We're coming home Saturday night to avoid the snow on Sunday.

Entitled. 2-4 inches is nothing.
During 4 years of college we had school cancelled only twice--both times were because of heavy snow. One of those was definitely necessary because it was an October snow and the heavy wet snow took out tons of trees on campus. When it was cold we just bundled up.

Stuffing--as long as it's the recipe made by my Mom, my Dad, or myself.
My second favorite would be the whole thing together--the previously mentioned stuffing, turkey (freshly roasted, not murdered in the oven and then warmed all day in a hot slow cooker a la MIL), mashed potatoes (real, always), and gravy...all in one bite!

Huskers are playing the Terrapins right now in Maryland. Looking good so far! Haha, Maryland is always an easy game for their opponents! I feel bad for saying this, but we needed that kind of a game! Of course it didn't stop DH & our son from starting their usual griping about each play on the first drive--I finally got mad and had to say something because it was after all, the first drive! I did have to chuckle every time the TV guys talked about the "Husker faithful" traveling so well for this game...hello, we are everywhere! I'm sure most of that NU crowd lives in the DC area and was happy to finally be close to a game.

No because I'm like you in that I sign up and don't usually make the projects, but I at least usually learn something or get new ideas. No, because I scrapbook our life as it happens (even if I'm a year behind), not make up projects for the sake of doing a project. No, because I would need way more information about the specific projects she's talking about, not just general pictures from a 2 minute video. No, because for that kind of money I'd like some freebies that I can actually use in projects.
My initial "no" would be because of the price, but once you break it down to $10 a month or $6 a project, then it's not bad...but not for me because of how I scrapbook.

I've got a 20lb bird thawing in my fridge that I'm cooking Saturday for a dinner at church...stinkin' bag must have tiny holes in it because it's making a mess in the garbage bag I have it sitting in (just in case). I'm starting to think I'll have to deal with it tonight or else I'm going to have a potentially bigger mess by Saturday morning.

I wrap some things in my boys' stockings (same paper as the Santa gifts are wrapped in) usually depends on how easy the little gifts are to wrap (usually ornament boxes get wrapped, everything else depends on the shape).

I love to make a sweet & salty chex mix. I use a mix of chex flavors, Crispix, Cheerios (regular, honey nut, or some other mix that I can't think of) but the new cereal I now add is Honeycomb. I've made it with and without skinny pretzel sticks--it's missing something when I don't add them, but I have a tendency to eat around them when I do include them! I want to add some kind of nut to add a little protein, but I haven't found a nut texture that I like with the rest of the cereal (I like the flavor of peanuts and cashews, but not the softness when I'm busy snarfing down the rest of the cereals...)

My stepmom buys the ones that are more plastic than paper--those work great for our family meals. I wouldn't be opposed to paper plates for a holiday meal, but they would have to be pretty sturdy.

We travel to my Dad's house (if we didn't arrive the night before) and everyone gathers for a meal and presents for the grandkids. We gather at my Mom's house on a different day, usually on a Saturday near Cmas day. Most of my siblings are with in-laws on Cmas Eve, but that doesn't always work with DH's family (grrrr…) so we have to pick another day near Cmas Day if possible. We come from out of state so we try to get everything done within in 3 days, maybe 4 at the most.
I grew up with a similar schedule so it feels normal to me to not be home on Cmas day with just DH & our boys. We were stuck home one year because of snow and honestly, it got a little boring! Felt like any normal day, just with new toys.
