I had a surprisingly hard time with this one, mostly because my ephemera just didn’t seem quite right. I do love the card pattern/idea, though. It’s fun to see the different takes on this design. I ended up fussy cutting my “ephemera” for this card. And it is definitely gender specific, but since I am not on a team or going for points, I took a few liberties.

jjpeapea, those are really cute cards! What has surprised me in these stamp challenges is that I have actually had a harder time finding stamp sets I have never used. This little gal, though, is one I hadn’t broken out of the package yet, so I did a summer card.

I know there are probably many ways to use hexagons. I had a little harder time with this one, actually. Obviously, I don’t use hexagons often enough. Nice cafd and challenge! jjpeapea, I really wasn’t trying to copy you. I have been playing catch up, and just saw your cute bee card. I went with a bee theme, too.

gramma, this was a fun challenge, and your card is so cute! Thank you for choosing such a unique challenge. jjpeapea, your intricate pie piece for Pi Day is awesome! nylene, your red apple card is delightful (and so are your other two cards)! It’s bound to bring a smile to your grandson in your “card wars.” I chose Book Lover’s Day. I did not make multiples, because this was one of the most time consuming of my CARDtober cards just to color, but it is going to a dear friend who is a former librarian. She’s been having a bit of a tough time over the last year.

jjpeapea , this was a great challenge, and I love your nautilus card. This one took me out of my comfort zone a bit. azcrafty , your ephemera adds the perfect, lovely touch. I had this paper in my stash. The layers (White Rabbit, rounder bird cage, and small butterfly), except for the die cut rose, were cut from other sections of the paper and added on top.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post mine. I’ve been making cards trying to catch up, but not posting. I used Graphic 45 Safari papers for mine, but I only made one.

Beautiful cards! Mine is a bit different. I definitely used some scraps, very old ones, and this stamp has a history. I had gotten the die free, but I didn’t have the stamp, so I was determined to get the stamp to go with the die, since it was a cute one, but it took awhile, since it was discontinued. They brought it back from the vault, I finally bought it, and…….it has been waiting to be used ever since. Thanks for the challenge.

I had the original Cameo. I also have a Cricut Explore Air 2. When a Microsoft update made my machine incompatible (although Silhouette did eventually work out a fix), I debated just using my Cricut Explore, but I missed my Cameo too much, so I got the Cameo 3. I love it! I don’t know if it is still available. The Cameo 4 was more expensive ($100), and I didn’t think I would use the extra capabilities. Now I think I might have liked them, but I am content with my Cameo 3. The software is so much better IMO than Cricut’s.

I think every recent purchase is my favorite purchase, not matter what it is. It represents potential, something new to play with, and I love potential!
I recently managed to finally get the little beach hut from My Favorite Things that I had been drooling over, but it had been out of stock. I even got it on sale, although I haven’t used it yet, since summer was over by the time I managed to get it. I think it will become a favorite. I have used the Jaded Blossom gnome, also a recent purchase. The cowboy add-on automatically makes it a favorite for me. I’ve used the Queen & Co. Halloween Foundation dies quite a bit this CARDtober, too, so just based on amount of use since buying, it rates as a favorite. I also got some Disney themed card making dies at the June GASC that I really love.
Queen & Co. has been producing more Foundation dies recently. I rave about them all the time, but I am not affiliated with them in any way. However, their Foundation dies are my most used dies, so I guess they qualify as my absolute favorites, just based on how much they get used.

I had to look up “tower flap card to understand. For something like this, I would get a 6x6 paper pad with coordinating papers and cut the pieces from a variety of those papers. Just mix them up so the effect is varied. The papers in a paper pad typically are made to go together, but even using a paper pad with mi and match papers, it does look like a challenging project. yes - that is what I've done -- each square has the same matting but a different color of square on top. In some of the places, I cut the paper so that two colors are aligned in the small square; in other cases I cut the pattern paper so that 4 colors show in the square. I could probably go as it is -- but I was wondering about something ... "more" (and I totally understand that "more" isn't always better -- but too often I am inclined to just leave a design when just a little something else could put it over the top) Thanks for the clarification. I understand a little better now. Your Tower Flap card seems to be a more elaborate twist on a simpler type of panel card. In both cases, I suggest that less is more. Embellish only a few panels, perhaps one or two with a stamped or printed word. A few others with a small image that coordinates with the papers. One or two panels with half pearls or enamel dots. Keep it to a minimum, and it should look better than with too much embellishment. I love unusual cards, and I’ve been making cards for decades. This is one of the few cards that I have seen that I don’t know if I would tackle. Yes, it’s impressive, but it looks a bit overwhelming, even for a seasoned card maker. Don’t beat yourself up for feeling a bit intimidated by it. I think I would be, too, and I normally love dimensional cards. It seems more like a creative project someone would do if they were trying to get on a design team, rather than a card I would make for a friend.

I just found it online at a new scrapbook store about 45 min away from me: Gaggle paperOur LSS brought in the 497Market Sherbet line that I loved. I am hoping they will bring this one in. Not on their website yet, but I am attending a crop there this upcoming weekend, so hoping they will have this paper. Or the 6x8 pack that includes this one. I have lots of garden photos to scrap this weekend, and much of this line would work beautifully with them. But I really need to find a photo of my dMIL and do up a frame with this particular paper. Now I need to look for a paper with PIGS on it to do a companion piece featuring my dFIL... I’m glad I didn’t have any food or drink in my mouth when I read this….. I did see your clarification, but you made me laugh!

I have wandered in from time to time, but the last time I was there (awhile ago), they had little to nothing of interest. It will be nicer if that has changed. However, do I need anything? Not really. I have been happily shopping from my stash throughout the last couple of years. If anything, that has made me feel like I spent far too much money at TM in the past. Will I be taking a peek to see how things are now? Probably. Will I buy anything? I guess it depends on how tempting the offerings are…..

I use large shoe style containers with snap on lids from Walmart. I do not store them with envelopes. I buy envelopes in bulk and keep them separate. I organize my cards by season and by themes.
If it weren’t for CARDtobers, though, I wouldn’t have a storage box. I used to just make them as needed, and if I didn’t have time to make a card, the recipient got store bought. I never give store bought cards anymore. CARDtober helps me keep a supply on hand.

azcrafty, your little fairy card is adorable. It’s a shame that the company who makes it has gone out of business, but I’m glad you used the stamp, even though it’s been discontinued. The stickles add the perfect shimmer to her wings. So, so cute! Thanks for sharing it.

Where do you get your pictures printed? I prefer to have them done by someone else, even though I have a good printer. It won’t print at the resolution it is supposed to be able to do.
I used to get mine printed at Costco, but they don’t do them in house anymore. I could still have them done through Costco, and just have them shipped to me, but I haven’t done that. Trying to figure out the best way. It’s been so long since I scrapbooked, and I want to get my Disney pictures printed and get started.

Oh, scrapnnana ! Ya know I am going to love your cute little wizard gnome! So cool that he is using his book of spells. I really need to take some of my gnomie dies out to play... Thank you! I definitely was thinking of you when I made him! I know you love gnomes, and your cowboy gnome convinced me to buy these. I’m glad you liked my version, and I look forward to seeing whatever you do with your gnome making skills!

I almost never have used Thickers/stickers in all the years I’ve been scrapping. I use my electronic cutter, but occasionally I have splurged for Paper Wizard titles.
