I think it’s possible that iron technology has improved across the board in the last couple of decades. If you have ever used a really old vintage iron - you would think different! LOL

Well, we have sang "Fleas on my dog" to the tune for years. I am sure someone would get bent out of shape over it, but eh?

I have a Black & Decker "Classic" - it looks old school. It has automatic steam and also a steam burst with button.
It's super heavy, which I personally think works best in an iron.
Make sure you only put distilled water in your irons. If you use regular tap water, the steam jets will get plugged, pretty fast.

We get short ribs every year with our quarter cow and I have to say they are not my favorite cut. Usually VERY fatty and hard to cook. I never save the ribs when we butcher. I just don't like them that well, and they are a pain in the butt to cook properly. Not worth the time for me. There are two kinds of beef short ribs. Plate cut is very close to the brisket and you will get a lot of meat on them. These are not a common cut - so you would have to have a butcher that does more specialty cuts (not at the grocery store - they don't get that in boxed beef). Chuck cut is closer to the chuck. Both are pretty fatty. Slow cooking and smoking is the way to go -but still very fatty. You can also get back ribs, but they don't have very much meat. I am beyond shocked at what they cost. For what they cost, you can buy a nice prime rib roast. costco has recently started selling beef ribs. not the short rib size but the 9"-12"-ish rib slabs. We’ve been getting the pre-seasoned St. Louis style beef ribs from there for a long time. We had been cooking them in our Instant Pot for a few years but more recently DH has been cooking them on the pellet grill. Both ways are really good, IMO. Just to be clear - St. Louis ribs are pork, not beef. They are good! ** If you are buying from a butcher or a store - ask them what grade the beef is - no matter what cut. Most supermarkets are probably going to be Select, possibly Choice. You want to stay at Choice, no lower. It is hard to find Prime in stores and some butchers might have it, but it mostly goes to restaurants. If you want the very best beef - ask for CAB Prime grade beef. Make sure it is really that, and not some ad gimmick to make a lesser cut sound like that (Just because the label says "Angus" - it might not be CAB. CAB stands for "Certified Angus Beef" and only the top 3% of beef grades as that. The majority of our beef grades as CAB Prime, and that is rare for a producer to have that much grade that high. We had one select in the last 4 years and my poor husband about had a fit. LOL That cow was culled. We know exactly how each beef we sell grades and yields!

Just for chuckles I went to their website. An hour wait to get to look at a website? No thanks. I was able to get in, in about 3 minutes. That was around 9:30 central time.

Have no experience with this, but don't be like my sister. Her son and GF broke up but my sister kept having a relationship with the GF--inviting her over etc. Made it awkward. I felt bad for my nephew who wanted to go on, but his mother was sabotaging him. Break ups are hard on everyone! When our son broke up with his girlfriend, it was pretty 'weird' for a while. They were both young (a high school romance), but they had dated for several years. She was a pretty big part of our lives and he was very close with her family too. We still communicated with her, and our son knew it - but we kept it casual and infrequent. As time moved on and they moved on - she came back in to our lives and he stops and sees her parents when he is back in the area. Not always, but once in a while. They are friendly to each other, but both have moved on and have serious relationships with other people now. Neither live anywhere close. But it is SO nice that they don't hate each other. We are friends with her family as well and get together once in a while to go out and eat. I've met her new boyfriend, as they stopped by one day so she could introduce him. I wish this is how it could work for everyone!

I totally love my Shark's. I have an older Navigator and a new stick. Love them both!
To keep them working the best - clean the filters! I usually buy an extra foam filter right away.
After one or two uses, I take the foam filter out and try to bounce as much dust as I can out of it (outdoors) and then I wash it well with Dawn and warm water. I squeeze the water out using a towel and let it dry completely. I like having 2 filters so I can leave the one I just washed to dry completely before putting it back in the vacuum. .

Ok..this is something I didn't know the iPhone even did.
Mine is still working - but I haven't installed 16.1.1 yet.
One suggestion was to go to Settings->Keyboards-> and make sure the "." is set to on.
I was so thrilled when I learned how to make the degree symbol the other day. LOL º

My grandchild was born full term, but was much smaller than had been anticipated. The mothers pregnancy was completely normal, until the last week when blood pressure began rising. No sign of pre-eclampsia ever until that last week. Induction was then scheduled, but delivery was only a couple days before the actual due date.
My grandbaby was just a little over 5 pounds. Unexpectedly small! They had estimated, from ultrasounds in the weeks before that the baby would be 6-7 pounds. The baby never had to go into NICU, but it was a quite traumatic birth. The baby's heartbeat would drop during a light contraction. They decided to do a c-section immediately after the baby heartbeat cratered during a contraction. Mother's BP was skyrocketing and they pushed magnesium to her.
CSection went well, and thankfully they did go that route, as there was a double cord wrap on the baby - which was causing the drop in the baby's heartbeat during contractions.
When they brought the baby home after several days in the hospital (full Covid lockdown, no less!) it was so tiny. Under 5 pounds.
They had to do feeding every 3 hours around the clock, to try and get some weight on the baby. They breast fed, but also did supplement some formula earlier on.
Two years plus since then. She is still a small nugget - but totally healthy! She is on the low end of the size charts, but those things are something I always say to take with a grain of salt! She is a very healthy weight, around 28 pounds. Eats great and loves all kinds of foods. She's smart as a whip (aren't all grandkids?) and is a lively beautiful child! If you drive by a McDonalds and she sees the sign - you will hear "FRIES!! Grammy! FRIES!" from the car seat! LOL

Mine has never froze to my windshield (sometimes there is a little frost underneath but that is in very extreme weather). Ever. Wet heavy snow or fluffy. I LOVE mine... Wish I would have gotten one earlier in my life! Maybe it the wind here... it blows about 60 MPH and nothing is safe! lol

Save your money and get a good ice scraper with a long handle and a brush on one end.
If it is light fluffy snow, it's just going to poof off easy. If it is wet icy snow - that sucker is going to be froze down to your car. If you are mostly dealing with the light fluffy stuff - a cordless leaf blower is amazing at cleaning off your car quickly! THey aren't that big and you can keep it in your car for later in the day -but rechargeable batteries do not like the cold!
Either way, you are stuck with a big piece of cover that you have to stow in your car.
If your windows are icy - let the car warm up. Blow the defrosters on the window until the snow/ice melts. Never pour anything on the glass.
Book some extra time to get started during snowy/winter weather.

I would have thought an electric vehicle would have less of a chance to burst into flames. Or is it a wiring issue with them? With farm trucks - they often don't get driven for most of the year. So they are in storage, and mice are always an issue. Always. No matter how hard we try, the mice still get in and chew wires.

Something else I have used to remove funky odors is Crest-O-Pine. Think Pinesol, like it used to be. Pinesol no longer has pine oil in it. So it doesn't work like it used to. Crest-O-Pine is a small manufacturer and it does put pine oil in. Damn - it is some real stuff! When I have funky clothes, I add 1/2 cut to a hot water load. It does smell very piney! But I either double rinse, or wash again (Persil). It still has a pine smell going in the dryer- but does not smell pine after. Even after the clothes line I don't smell pine. Good stuff - expensive, but that is the shipping. Crest O Pine - what Pinesol used to be!

I wonder what happened to make the car burst into flames like that. I have had a two trucks and combine start on fire. It is terrifying! Doubly terrifying when you are out in a corn field that can also burst into flames and spread. The trucks were electrical. Combine was a hot bearing, which is common. Luckily we were able to contain the fires before anything got out of hand, but my husband did sustain some very light burns from one of the machine fires in the corn field. We are ready to call dispatch immediately when we see any trace of fire and keep extinguishers in EVERYTHING during harvest. I'm so glad he wasn't burned worse. Once, when my husband was combining along, and his combine started on fire, he was able to quickly extinguish it, because he caught it fast and had extinguishers. But after spending time out there to make sure the stalks were not going to start on fire - he had to come home and take a nap. That adrenalin hit SO hard he could barely walk by the time he got in the house.

I don't smell it, but it bothers him enough that he will only use a towel once and then puts it in the hamper. The hamper has to GO, or at least never put towels in it. Damp towels will mildew in a hamper, even if they aren't in there very long. Have a hook or something to hand the towels on to dry, even if you are going to wash them after one use. I use something called ROCKIN' GREEN that I order from Amazon. I use this to do a 'strip' of smelly things. I am able to soak in my washer, and I am also able to get really hot water in my washer for the soak (Some HE machines can't do this). But I will do a strip/soak in Rockin' Green for a few hours, then rinse and wash again in hot water with Persil laundry soap. I dry and then never let a wet/damp towel sit in a hamper or in a pile.

Skechers have saved my feet. They used to hurt so bad.
They even have some 'work' styles.
I do find that switching shoes helps too. Not wearing the same pair all the time.

I use the built in one on my iPhone. Take a picture. Open in the Apple Photo's app. Click on the 'i' that has a circle/stars around it. It will give you the choice to "Look Up" and it usually defaults to plant when it is a plant/flower picture. Free - already there.

I don't get the hate? It looks like an older couples well tended house.
The bathroom 'desks' are vanity's. You can sit and get ready or do your hair. Something nice if your older (or have little ones that you are doing their hair).
The finishes are dated, but the bones are nice.
Hays, America. A nice university town with really fun people! Octoberfest is so fun, and the authentic German food is wonderful. I bet some great beirocks, green bean soup, and galushkis were made in that kitchen.

Almost always UPS. One morning about 7:30 am I heard a truck drive in. Not totally unusual. Sometimes we get bulk fuel or propane, and those guys start early. It was a Prime truck. First and only time (that I know of, I've not been home during the day since the first week of September) that I've had an actual Amazon delivery! That had to come out of either Des Moines or Omaha (we are about the same distance from either - a little more than 2 hours). I was so shocked to see them, I forgot to ask. But they had 2 guys in the truck. Driver and runner I guess. UPS does this during the busy holiday season.

Let me just share here that one of my irrational pet peeves is when people mispronounce “macaron” as “macaroon” which is a completely different cookie - one that is a traditional Passover coconut cookie. When 'macaron's' first became a thing. I had never heard of them. I remember a conversation with a friend where I asked "do you mean macaroon?" "No, macaron" Macaroon macaron macaroon macaron... it was still the funniest conversation we ever had. FWIW - I have never had a good one. They always look so good, and I am always so disappointed. I think it's because I really want a macaroon!

Interesting that someone really wanted the announcement put in the paper. Those were "a thing" back in the 1960s but I have not seen one in years. Our wedding announcement was in 2 papers in the early 90s! My hometown and his. Small town papers. Could they drop anymore names if people nobody knows?!?! That was tacky as hell. That one is a bit pretentious! LOL But I remember as a kid reading the wedding announcements and they always described what type of lace was used in the gown, etc. I grew up in a small town, and I remember often reading how the family and wedding party enjoyed a breakfast or lunch after the wedding prepared by the brides mother. My own parents wedding, my Grandma cooked a turkey dinner for everyone after the wedding. How sweet! Our wedding announcement wasn't quite so pretentious as the OP's share - but it did list parents, bridal party, location, and reception and dance details. It was just done for everyone! I really miss them.

Racoons are so cute, but they're so vicious. I wonder why nature created them that way? Survival. If you want to see vicious - watch a badger. Lord, they scare the daylights out of me. When I see one, I go the other was as fast as possible. What kind of damage do raccoons do in an attic? Do they chew wood, insulation or wiring? Or pee on the insulation requiring that you replace it? They can chew, rip, and tear holes in your house faster than you can imagine. They can absolutely destroy a house once they get inside, and they WILL get inside. Don't feed racoons.

I'm not a follower of baseball, but as far as figuring out the pitchers signals - I would put that in the category of "all's fair in love and baseball" ... maybe I'm wrong. But if they aren't breaking into a clubhouse and stealing secret documents, why not? Maybe the setup of the cameras is a bit over the top?
When my kids played sports, I watched signals from other teams and would call out if I knew what was coming. I also helped and watched game films to figure out plays in volleyball. I even went to games of other teams we would be playing against and recorded for the coaches to watch. Most of the time when a play was called in High School volleyball, the coach would hold up a clipboard so it wasn't so viewable, but if you watched - it wasn't hard to figure it out. I knew when the setter on our team was setting high, low, placement on court just by watching her signal or say a word. I would watch the other teams setter to see what they were using for signals.

I doubt they'll ever be collectables because they are just KMart pans but meh. The stuff I got at KMart back in the Martha days was good stuff! I loved the towels, sheets, and kitchen accessories that I got there. I really felt like KMart got a bad deal - I thought that stuff was great! I loved the Martha Stewart paint colors, but I did have my local hardware store do the color match.

Never been tested. Never had Covid (yet), although I was very sick with 'something' in February of 2020 that had the exact symptoms of Covid.
Had the original vaccine. That's it, and that is probably all I will ever get.
I am lucky in that I am never around a lot of people, so I am sure that has been a factor.
I practiced the social distancing and handwashing/sanitizer long before this all happened. I liked it when the stores were a little more proactive in cleaning carts and general door handles, etc. That seems to be completely abandoned.
