Well, at least you know why you hurt! Sometimes I wonder what the heck I did?
I've been hauling wagons of corn for the last couple weeks. All I have to do is sit in the tractor and move them from point A to point B.
I turn around to look out the back window when I hitch them up. My seat even swivels when I turn, but you would think I had never used those muscles in my life! lol
My seat is an air ride seat too, and comfy. But lord I can barely walk when I climb out of that machine at night. No heated seat in this rig - that would help! .. oh aging is a slippery slope (just don't sit on that slope all afternoon, right?)

I'm almost ready to pull money out of the non penalty accounts and just stick it in a freakin' savings account, at least I'll make some money. Savings account interest is so low! I wish it would earn a little something. My bank is offering a short term money market. Minimum $10K at 3.75%. I have to keep a fairly decent amount of ready cash to purchase calves and crop inputs - but for that amount of time I can put a fair amount in. I am looking at buying calves in December this year (usually March or April) and I buy all my agronomy inputs in December - so I can't put it all in.

If you have any privacy concerns, none of them. can you give an example please? I appreciate it. You are unfairly opening your siblings and other relatives to privacy violations.

Any suggestions for a good smaller food processor that grates ?? She lives alone. Doesn have a KA mixer. I have this small one that suction cups to the countertop. It is just amazing! It has a thicker grater, a fine one (works great for carrots, for carrot cake!) and a slicer. I ended up buying one for each of my kids and they absolutly love them too. I grate most of my cheese. I also do potatoes for hashbrowns. This gadget is cheap (ish) and you can pop it apart and put it in the dishwasher. It doesn't take up much space. I have a big food processor that can grate things - but I always use this one! Rotary Grater - no knuckles will be abused!

We have some farms that have older houses on them. We've torn most of them down. Tried renting and it is just not worth it. The houses were old and the renters are just a nightmare. It's easier and cheaper to burn them down.

I'd only be concerned if you have a frost free freezer. Those have a constant cycle of warm/freeze to keep the frost out, which is why you should never have one as your long term storage deep freeze.

I saw a cream cheese one for bagels. That looked appealing.
But no one serves stuff like that around here. Basic fact here; charcuterie board is just a "meat & cheese tray" in these parts. Usually deer sausage from their last hunt. LOL Deer summer sausage slices, deer stick cut into bite size pieces, some cheddar, swiss, and pepper jack cheese slices, served with a box of Ritz crackers. Most often out of a Tupperware container.

Ah cool!
4.3 million last night - wow.
I am lucky enough to own a large amount of river bottom ground. It is pretty cool to be out in the meadows and timber to see all the different birds. Spring and fall always bring some neat surprises.
When the pelicans come through in the spring, it's an event!

I would agree that 'certified funds' would require some advanced notice to be able to get a certified or cashiers check. We purchase cattle through some online auctions, or just over the phone. Sometimes with an order buyer. If we are new to the sale barn, we usually have to give them our bankers phone number - they call him and he gives them the low down Basically the sale barn wants to know if we have the money to purchase. We are usually spending in the 100K to 300K range on calves. When we purchase our calves locally, it's always a handshake deal. It's amazing sometimes, but your good name is everything in this business.

I get mine from the Vet. LOL Our vaccines come packed in them, so my farm freezer is FULL of them. They are the soft plastic ones.
I like them, and the thicker they are, the better they last. Super thin ones do not stay frozen long.
My advice - double bag it in heavy freezer zip lock bags. They seem to get small holes in them and leak. Having the heavy zip bag around them helps a lot.

My friend did this and I guess she just opened the app, hit translate, and it started translating on speakerphone! She thought it would give the translation in text, but noooo... it did not. She got so embarrassed that she couldn't figure out how to turn it off! But she did leave a very generous tip afterward.
Oh my goodness! Note to self - have the AirPods in! LOL

I watched a TikTok of someone getting their nails done and had a translation app on her phone. They were talking about how fat she was. She really felt awful afterwards. Kind of the laughing, but sad tears sad.

I have quite a few shutoffs.
My house was built in the late 1920's, and much has been changed over the years. When we moved in about 30 years ago, we had new toilets and faucets put in. With that we had shutoffs put in. They are the knob type, and I am good with those.
I had shut offs for my washing machine put it and that is the lever type. My main shut off is a lever type now too. I like those the best.
I probably shut mine off once a year, just due to things needing repairs. When the plumber comes, I go down and pull the lever for the main coming in the house to shut it off and open taps to drain everything.
I need to get new faucets put on, on the outside of my house. What I have leaks so bad when I have my garden hose on. I just never think of it when I have a plumber coming.

Are you cutting all the way through the backer of the HTV? You should only be cutting the HTV, and not the backer it is on, so the mat really won't be a factor, as long as it is sticky enough to hold the HTV in place so it doesn't slide around.
You could try turning on Line Segment Overcut. This is in the send panel - check the box for it there. That makes the blade lift and turn, instead of pivoting around as it cuts angles/corners. You get cleaner cuts and it is less likely to pull stuff loose.

I work for a food manufacturer that uses several grain ingredients brought in by rail car. As a contingency we've started ordering trucks to bring us the grain, but they are way more expensive to use as they carry far less than a rail car and the sheer cost of shipping by truck is much higher than by train in many cases. I was (and still am) very concerned about a rail strike. We are moving into grain harvest as I type. The grain storage is becoming more limited in my area due to failure of older elevators. One near me partially collapsed this year, and had to be torn down. There is still storage there, but much less - which means grain has to be shipped out via rail much quicker. Harvest won't stop - grain will have to be harvested. So it is scary to think about what will happen to it.

I do a lot of cooking ahead this time of year, and that includes a lot of browned ground beef.
I have a couple pretty large skillets, and I do 3# in each. I have one of those ground meat choppers, that makes breaking up ground meat so much easier while browning. I have an OXO one, but Pampered Chef makes a good one too.
If I am making meat for walking tacos or maidrites, I season in the pan when cooking. Transfer to a cake pan to cool. Then I weight out 1 pound amounts and put in freezer quart bags. I lay them flat and flatten the meat and squeeze out as much air as possible. I use the dull side of a bread knife the make a 'cross' indention. This way I have 4 quarters in each bag - if I only want a small amount, I can break off a chunk without thawing it all out.
I freeze plain browned ground beef, spaghetti meat, taco meat and maidrite meat.

I heard they are removing them every 12 hours, to allow space for the fresh.
Maybe they can just resell? (Just kidding).
I too think it is wasteful, but understand the want for it. Just think if a person could just give a few dollars instead, what could be raised for a charity. Virtual flowers for a donation.

This is the start of harvest season for us. I will notice geese migrating all the time now, for the next month or two. This seems to be a normal time for me to see some start to move south. I'm hearing a lot about a bad winter, I hope not!

That is clean compared to what we have daily! Farm life - stuff just doesn't get washed that often. Gravel travel is the only way to get around. And when it rains, it's mud. I do have my 'town' truck that I keep pretty clean, but even it suffers during harvest. I try not to drive it often, and have my 'work' truck that I use most of the time. I can usually see out the front windows in my work truck. Back windows are solid covered in mud/dust.

Math. I shudder at the thought. I have no confidence in doing any of it.
I never let on to my kids though. And they all turned out to be math whizzes! Whew! LOL A couple of them love math, one just is good at it and tries to avoid it. LOL
All of my kids took college level math before they went to college. One of them was so happy that they didn't have to take a single math class in college, because they had it all done before they graduated high school! LOL The Engineer started college math with Calc 3... uck. I can't imagine. Double major - Engineering/Math. Lordy.
I chalk it up to one spectacularly amazing wonderful high school math teacher. She is an absolute treasure. My husband even had her for high school math!

I pay taxes, I even have multiple special assessments for specific school bonds attached to my property taxes. I feel this deep! I just paid my property taxes and I pay 10's of thousands in land taxes. I know I am supporting my school district and my fire departments with it. I know that those monies do not cover it all, so the need for fundraisers is a necessary one. I hate the ones where most of the money goes to the fundraising company - and you are getting JUNK in return. Around here we do a lot of fundraising dinners and concession stands. I try to support those. If a group is selling something I really like, I get it. Butter Braids are my weakness. LOL They are SO expensive, but I always get a few and keep in my deep freeze. They are only available by fundraisers - the company does not sell them in any other way. The quality is SO GOOD! Whenever I bake one up, everyone goes nuts for it! When I was a kid, and we did those for activities, it was so hard for me. We didn't have money, my parents literally had no friends, and we had very little family. My parents are/were also not what I would describe as "good at life" so it was on me. I would literally end up donating my own birthday money. I went to battle when my kids were in elementary school. They had an awful fundraiser with kids selling absolute garbage. JUNK! And the kids that sold the most got a special day at school that started with limo rides, a special meal, basically the whole day off from school. I said if this happened, I would raise the biggest stink the school ever saw. I would get a lawyer and shit would hit the fan. (I never ever complained about anything at school). The fund raiser went one, but the big "day" for the top sellers got dropped. I know kids got (junk) prizes for selling amounts, but no outright private party at school for it. But it was SO damn unfair to kids that didn't have a big parental network and those with limited funds. I knew that I had to put myself behind some fundraising efforts, if I was going to make that big of a stink about it. I asked if later, we could do a different kind of fundraiser. We put a couple small ads in the local paper, and did a small mailing with a letter that asked for a straight cash donation. Basically the wording was "we won't try to sell you garbage, in return for a small donation" The money would be spent on field trips, so that all kids could go for free and other "extra's" at school so that ALL kids could have the same thing, without having to pay. Guess what fundraiser made a LOT more money that went directly to the school - without paying a middle man. My idea. Older people in the community that had no kids in school, and did not want any more junk gave generously! Many gave anonymously. I also recommend, if you are involved in your school fundraising, to ask them for a confirmation of the amount of money deposited and for them to report the account balance to your organization at least quarterly. Our school administration tried to 'restructure' where the money we raised went. I caught them in that act. Our playground fund was getting siphoned into a sports account.

All our "paychecks" get mailed to us. I've only had one go missing, and had it reissued. Ours are payments from the beef packer, so it can range from 100K to almost 400K, if we ship out a lot of loads at once. We used to get our checks a couple days after the cattle left the farm. Now it is at least a week. Yikes.
We do go pick up our grain checks from the elevator in person.

I just wish I could do more.it was so much easier when a band-aid and a kiss would solve everything! That is something you can say! I would tell my kids that Yes - it does get better with time, but that doesn't help you at all right now. I also told them how I wanted to help them, like when they were little, but it was something they had to deal with. I validated their feelings, but also wanted them to know what hurts so bad now, slowly does get better. Validation, open communication and NOT TOO MUCH communication is the path I followed. Never say bad things about the former partner. Don't bring it up all the time. An occasional "how are you doing" is good.

I should've asked for a blue vest and partial pay. Or at least a discount? LOL I live about 30 miles from my closest walmart. I do have a small town (population around 2K) closer. I try to get most of my groceries there, to support them. And in truth - I spend less by shopping there. But they ALWAYS take my groceries to my car, load them, and stop and have a short chat with me. Plus they have home made doughnuts for sale. I love my small town stores the best!

I ALWAYS return the cart!
Even when I had babies and toddlers with me.
I am finding myself now taking a cart in with me, when I walk through the parking lot. Either out of the cart corral or if there is a a stray one, I definitely grab that one. I figure it is one less cart they have to wrangle inside.
If everyone would just take a cart back inside with them, it would save the stores a lot of effort, since they seem to be employing less and less people.

Several kids from my area have gone to one. Ft. Dodge is closer to me, and that is the one they have gone to.
As far as the scammy/student loan stuff - I would be ware of that with ANY school. Especially tech/vocational schools. There are many fantastic ones out there, but the loan and money stuff sure seems to get kids stuck in financial difficulty.
FWIW - most of the hair dressers who are high end successful around here have gone to Aveda schools. They are the ones that are solid booked and can charge the higher prices, and have a strong client relationship.

"Under the new law, high schools are banned from starting the day before 8:30 a.m. Middle schools are banned from starting before 8 a.m." When my kids were in middle/high school they were in sports and other activities. During the fall/start of school, they were always at XC practice at 6 a.m. Being at school by 7 am was not unusual throughout the year. I know how tired kids are and how wild hormones can be. But I still think they can learn to go to bed. Shut off the devices and no screen time so they can go to sleep. They need to learn how to manage time and get enough sleep. It's not perfect. I know those growing bodies and minds need rest. I am so glad I did not have to deal with a lot of traffic and drop off lines to deal with. I can't imagine. My kids always got on the bus (from Kindergarten till they could drive their freshman year) before 7 am.
