Also a SAHM. I had someone ask me recently (a 40ish male who is married with children) if I just get to sit around all day and watch movies! lol I was like are you kidding me? You must be joking! Eating bon bons, right? I’ve been a SAHM for nearly 17 years. I’ve had people tell me I’m on “permanent vacation” which is awesome considering my husband travels EXTENSIVELY for work, and we lived all that time in a city with no family, so no child care to speak of unless we sought it out. My friends who know the situation and know how much my husband is away tell me I’m essentially a single mom ( I’m not so sure about that). I do know that I am tired of doing EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME. Yep, must be nice

Hmmm. I can’t imagine NOT having a passport. I’m not sure I know anyone that doesn’t have a passport.

I packed up all my daughter’s American Girl stuff when she was about 12. She has lots of it, so it was a big job! I kept it all in the hopes that she could pass it on to her own daughter one day. If not, I guess she can sell it!

I’d try an allergy med. I get frequent headaches, and if nothing seems to be helping, i wet a facecloth, microwave it till it’s steaming, and put it on my face over my sinuses. The moist heat seems to help.

Kids wear regular clothes to public schools here, and private school students wear uniforms. My daughter starts grade 12 next week...it’s her last year of wearing a uniform!

If you’re really struggling for direction, I’d start by going on houzz or Pinterest and compiling an idea book of rooms or looks that you gravitate towards. Look for commonalities in the rooms you like. Starting from scratch can be daunting. I believe some paint companies will also do colour consultations for you. Space planning is good advice, as you need to decide how you want the room to function and what pieces of furniture you need to achieve that.

Ugh I hate coyotes. We have tons in our neighbourhood, as we live on a ravine. I see them when I walk my dog but they’ve never been aggressive with us. Their stalking behaviour freaks me out. I know you can get coyote vests for dogs. Not sure how well they work.

Hmmm. In the family room I have nothing because the tv is over the fireplace. In the living room I don’t have a mantel, the fireplace is very contemporary, but I do have a painting hung above the fireplace. Outside fireplace doesn’t have anything, I’ve been looking for something just right that can withstand the weather, but I haven’t found anything yet.

Each bathroom has its own set of cleaning supplies. I hate lugging stuff all over the house. Each level has its own swiffer, because I swiffer constantly (my lovely lab should be bald judging by the amount she sheds). I also have a dyson rechargeable in my bedroom closet to deal with minor vacuuming upstairs. My main dyson is on the main floor, and my older canister vacuum is in the basement. I figure if my cleaning supplies are handy, I’m more likely to clean!

I have separate fridge and freezer columns. Each one is 33” wide. They are counter depth, but I love that stuff doesn’t get hidden in the back, and I still have plenty of room in each. If I didn’t have as much room in my kitchen, I would go back to a French door fridge with freezer on the bottom. This is what we have too. I love it BUT...the fridge died just before Christmas and we had to replace both fridge AND freezer columns, as the style had changed. That was a big bill just before Christmas that we didn’t need! The new ones are fabulous, though.

. That’s so odd! If it was a Bic, neither of us would have missed it... Add me to the bench. I had a ball point Mont Blanc, I never went anywhere without it. One day, it just went poof. Have either of you thought about buying another? I've looked and am shocked at the price now. I think I paid $100 for the black and gold ballpoint with the white star. Now it is $400. Jennifer I kinda moved on to collecting fountain pens and I have many, but no Mont Blancs. They actually don’t make great fountain pens. They’re gorgeous, but don’t write all that well, especially in view of what you pay for them! They do make great inks though. I do miss my Mont Blanc rollerball. Maybe one day I’ll replace it.

I feel like our house is super dusty, and we don’t have forced air, we have radiant heat, so really no ductwork. We got a Dyson fan/space heater/air purifier and it doesn’t cut down on the dust at all.

When I graduated from college my in-laws bought me a beautiful Mont Blanc pen, which I used only at my desk in my home. One day I realized it was gone - but it could have been gone for a day or a month because I didn't use it that often. I've always wondered if I lost it or if someone took it. I lost a Mont Blanc pen too! It was sitting on my desk at home, and we had houseguests at the time. I wonder if one of them “borrowed” it. One day it was there, and then I never saw it again.

I had to buy some fancy nerdy graph paper with hexagons on it for my daughters organic chemistry at $10 a package from amazon. And some new highlighters in kinda pastel colours because she likes to make her notes pretty! When Mildliner comes out with new colours one must buy them so that one has ALL THE COLOURS. Did you know you can print that special graph paper? I print graph paper as we need it for my classes. I had no idea! How cool!

Zevia is great as well. They have a lot of flavors, including cola. I had to throw mine away, i hated it so much. Plus, it's clear, so it throws me off. I've heard really good things about Virgil's, but I've only found the root beer one at my store, and that's a hard pass for me. I agree that Zevia is vile and nasty! I threw mine out as well. I’m not a fan of stevia at all.

I also have a drawer microwave in my island. It’s a great option. It’s handy and yet out of the way.

We use Swerve, both granulated and confectioners. Confectioners dissolves best. For brown sugar replacement, Sukrin gold is excellent. We do a lot of keto baking and these give excellent results. I don’t use them in coffee, I just eliminated sweetener and drink my coffee with cream now.

You know, I have seen an entire barn full of horses impacted by environmental issues stemming from a leaky roof. These horses had respiratory ailments, tested positive for illnesses not seen in the equine community in OUR COUNTRY, had reproductive issues, you name it. It was truly bizarre and vets were baffled. The barn was condemned, horses were quarantined and rehomed, and all have recovered. So having been through this, I’m a huge believer that our environment can have a massive negative impact on our health.

What a bizarre and baffling set of symptoms your poor husband has been suffering with. I so hope that there were some environmental factors at play and now that you’ve moved, he can continue to improve. Best wishes to you both!

I love Glossier Cloud Paint. It’s pretty idiot proof application, so no clown cheeks. It comes in a tube. I also like NARS liquid blush but it’s way more pigmented so you definitely need to use a lighter hand!
