My husband is making Peruvian food tonight, I'm hoping it will be good. I love Peruvian cuisine AND my Peruvian man. I played Betrayal at House on the Hill on a tabletop simulator with my dd and her girlfriend for 4 hours. We chatted on video call while we played. It was fun (but very complicated), but man am I tired now. You wouldn't think sitting in bed would do that, but it does. I can't believe Easter is tomorrow. We're not doing the typical ham and stuff big dinner. We WILL have jellybeans!

Not so much hoarded but I wish we had organised a web cam for my parents. At a relatively early stage my brother searched everywhere for a camera and had no luck. It would have been an extra welcome addition to their lockdown if we could have all communicated visually. This for sure. For me it's hand sanitizer and bleach. I was finally able to get a gallon of bleach at walmart last week. We were down to an inch in our last bottle.

After ice, try a Hot water bottle and ibuprofen. The tightness may last a week or more, don't be surprised if it does.

I am SUPER late to this party, but I'm Wendy, aged 53 and have 3 kids ages 31,27 and 20. I've been married for 33 years in October. I live in Utah, and have always been a SAHM except for a stint of customer service work between 2008-2012. I have taught piano lessons for many years. I love to scrap, make cards, stamp, sew, quilt, crochet, although master of none. My dh is a teacher and teaches junior high Spanish. He definitely prefers teaching in the classroom over zoom classes. I'm currently bedridden so I am not getting much done during quarantine. I had lots of great ideas of stuff I could do though. There are so many organizing projects to do in this house!! I look forward to knowing you all better!

Well I've taken a rest for the last 2 days, and I was probably crocheting 6 hours, but 2 at a time. I do keep it near my lap, but I'm working on the yarn tension, I struggle keeping it loose enough, but it's coming more natural little by little. I usually sit propped up on my bed since right now I'm bedridden, maybe a chair would be better. I thought it was going to be more relaxing, but it isn't yet. I do enjoy it though.

Does anyone else think there will be a baby boom 9 months after this is over?

I'm a fairly new crocheter. I'm working on my first afghan. Is it normal for me to have pain in my dominant forearm and in the other shoulder? It's got to be over-use or I'm doing something wrong. Did you all have pain when you were first starting out?

I have some yarn on order from JoAnn's. I went and checked the website finally, it hasn't even processed yet! I guess waiting is part of the deal these days. JoAnn's probably sent all their workers home, so that's actually a good thing.

I would be enjoying this quarantine a lot more if I could get up and around to do stuff. I have been bedridden since January and have still not been cleared to walk (Charcot Foot in one of my feet) I was on crutches immediately before this since November for an enormous blister on the bottom of my foot from new shoes. I'm diabetic and my doctor told me I had to stay off it or it wouldn't get better. So basically I've been not able to walk around since November. I have all these ideas of things I want to do, things I want to cook, and I'm dependent on my dh to help with it all. So, I've about reached the end of endurance of being cooped up, but you just keep going. I also have fibromyalgia that flares up, and you other peas with fibro know how that is. I'll look on the bright side... I don't have covid-19! *fingers crossed* We are having frozen beer battered fish and potato wedges....annnnd the smoke alarm just went off! Poor DH, he's been such a trooper! HAHA he just came running in here with earplugs for me! I do have to say coming back to the boards has helped a lot towards helping me to stay sane, so thank you all!

Is there such a thing as a comfy bra in DD? I haven't found one. I have to admit quarantine means braless for me! But I also have not been on zoom...

The key is to store what you eat and eat what you store. Rotate food. New stuff in the back, older stuff always in the front. I don't have bed frames, our beds are on boxes of food storage. Dried beans, rice, pasta, dehydrated vegetables, wheat (because it has indefinite shelf life rather than flour). Small amounts of these are kept in the pantry. Other canned goods and regular pantry items are in the pantry. I keep my home-canned goods in there as well. They are all marked on the lids what it is and when it was canned. Sometimes it's hard to keep things rotated, but that's the key to really keeping everything fresh. You can build it by just buying an extra of what you are already going to buy. Have a budget for building your storage, maybe $10 for extra canned goods and some sugar. Just do it steadily and gradually and before you know it you'll have a good bit set aside. Hope this helps answer your question.

I went through what we spent in March, including eating out, is around $400 which is way more than I thought it would be. I have been stocking up on things when I can, but the stores are rationing to 2 only of what you buy. We are only 2 of us here, but my daughter who is unemployed was rationing her food, so we put together a big box of food for her, so that probably accounts for a chunk of the increase.

I am going to sort my stamps, add in new ones and make a new stamp catalog. My old one is completely useless. I'm taking organizing projects one at a time so I don't get overwhelmed.

My aunt sent me something on facebook that there are no cases in Israel because they drink hot water with lemon in it everyday. The combo apparently kills the virus. *shaking head*

We’re having roast pork with roast potatoes, cauliflower, sprouts, peas and Yorkshire pudding. I made apricot and chocolate chunk flapjacks earlier today Sending much love to the dinner tribe What time is dinner? Can I sneak in the back door? MMMM roast pork, and the yorkshire pudding sounds good, although I've never tried it and have never attempted to make it. We are having homemade eggrolls with sweet chili sauce and steamed broccoli.

I used to entertain a lot more when I was younger, but it was always casual. Not paper plates though, unless it was a BBQ or something. For Christmas I will pull out my plates that I got at the dollar tree a few years ago that have red cardinals and pine sprigs on them. I never got china at my wedding.
We are having a leftover buffet, followed by popcorn and Harry Potter movie. We have started at the beginning, tonight will be #3. Seems like I always have too many leftovers. I still struggle not cooking for a family!

My Fried Rice Recipe
It all depends on what I have in the fridge. Gotta have cold rice. All the amounts depend on what size your family is and what you have in the fridge. I start by heating up some oil and scrambling some eggs, remove from pan and set aside. Then I always start with onion and will add whatever bits and pieces of veg I have in the fridge like broccoli, zucchini, carrot, mushroom, celery, cabbage, bean sprouts. I also add garlic and ginger at this point. After they have cooked for a few minutes I will add my meat, which is usually leftover and already cooked. Shredded or cubed chicken, beef, pork, spam (is really good- but I treat it like raw meat) If you start with raw meat I'd add it with the onion. I add more oil or water when it gets too dry. Add your cold rice and soy sauce to taste. Your heat should be high, we're frying not steaming. Just keep tossing and tasting for soy sauce. Add some frozen green peas and the chopped up scrambled eggs. If you have it, sliced water chestnuts are good too. Just before serving I season with sesame oil. It's strong so be careful. I also garnish with chopped green onions.
My family loves this, I hope yours will too!
Edit: This pretty much how I make lo mein as well, only sub noodles for the rice.

Rechauffe turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli. What is Rechauffe turkey breast? Edit: After seeing this word several times I looked it up. I thought it was a new recipe for turkey haha! I should say we're having rechauffe stroganoff tonight. I learned a new word, haha! We are having leftover beef stroganoff with rice. Does anyone have a way of making frozen vegetables taste better? We bought one of those bird's eye combo meals that has veg, pasta, and protein and you cook it in a skillet. It was so bland. I had to doctor that stuff up with a ton of seasonings and CHEESE. Anyway, I have some frozen veg from costco. I usually make fresh vegetables.

I have used relax melodies in the past, but to be honest, the thing working best for me right now is to leave the tv on and turn the volume down enough that I can't understand what is being said. I can still hear it's people talking, just not what they're saying. I usually try to find a nature show narrated by Richard Attenborough, or another soothing voice. Obviously this won't work with tv shows with car chases, fighting, etc. haha! If the light bothers you, you could wear a sleep mask.
