Love their outdoor areas. Not my decor style, but I could live there if I HAD to. Love how everything is so ornate, but then they have a single pillow that says Normal is Boring. Looks like something one of us peasants would buy at Target.

I'm in the Who cares? camp. If you love her and are excited for her surprise baby, go to the shower. If you are not a fan, then don't go.

I'm onboard. No looking for a gift. $5 is easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Just saw Uncut Gems with Adam Sandler. We did not like it at all. Not sure what the critics are seeing in it. really... was it the story you didn't like, or Sandler's performance? I recently heard the NPR Fresh Air interview with Adam Sandler and the two guys who wrote the movie, and the main character is loosely based on the writers' father, who was in the diamond / jewelry trade industry in New York (heavily embellished, of course). The interview made the movie sound interesting; plus, I thought it would be a nice change to see Adam Sandler in a dramatic role. How was his performance? Funny People and Spanglish are 2 older but really good movies with Adam Sandler in the lead dramatic role. He is an excellent dramatic actor. Definitely want to see Uncut Gems, but will probably wait and see it at home.

I think you are fine. If the community was gated, that would be different. Our neighborhood is along a canal that people use for exercise. People park in our neighborhood to use the canal.
When my kids were small we used to frequent the parks in the neighborhoods adjacent to ours.

First, I think you have an adorable and compelling personality and would love working with you and being friends in real life. There are some great microphones out there that can help with the audio, because you do have a soft voice. (Pretty sure all the big YouTubers and podcasters use them. They make your voice very clear, like a radio broadcaster.)
My only real advice is that you are going to suck in the beginning of any new thing you try, so keep making your videos and moving forward. (I didn't think the ones I watched sucked though, btw...)
I am sure there are YouTube videos out there on how to gain subscribers, enhance the audio, write compelling content, etc. Several years ago I went to a convention called VidCon. (It was in Anaheim, but may have since moved to Vegas.) This is a YouTuber convention. I went bc my child wanted to go and meet some of her favorite YouTubers. (I had no idea at the time that there were YouTube celebrities and channels. It was very eye opening. When I was looking through what the convention had to offer, it included panels on how to become a successful YouTuber. I was going to attend those while my DD and her friend met YouTubers, but I ended up standing in lines for them. LOL. It was her birthday gift, so I didn't mind. Needless to say, I did not attend the panels, so I don't know how detailed or helpful they were. There is probably plenty of information on the internet though.
Good luck in your endeavor. Hope you have fun in the process!
ETA- Vidcon is still in Anaheim. It's in June

I absolutely would not allow this woman to determine which social events I attend and with whom I socialize with. I would go to whichever social events I wanted to attend. If she is at an event I am attending, I would be polite to her, but I would avoid interacting with her. I wouldn't put my boss or anyone else in the middle of my conflict with her. It sounds like they will see her true colors soon enough. I agree with this. Putting your boss in the middle will make you seem unprofessional (quite possibly petty) and you could be viewed as a gossip. Actions speak louder than words.

I would just avoid her at these social events. Would think it would be easy to do when there are 10 - 15 people around.

Glad he is fixed up. He should never, ever do dishes again. Clearly dishes pose a clear and present danger. He feels the same way and even got the Dr. to agree no dishes for a while. Those dang doctors!

It was a little much for urgent care so they sent us to the emergency room. Once we got there he was treated right away. He did get stitches and his hand is immobilized. Just waiting to be discharged. He has made it clear he is not doing dishes anymore. We will see about that. Glad he is fixed up. He should never, ever do dishes again. Clearly dishes pose a clear and present danger.

Sorry for your husband. Yeah, my year isn't starting out great. Cancelled party plans to take drugs and binge watch Great British Baking Show marathon. I had a filling redone on a back molar and it was being sensitive for a bit, dentist said may need root canal but it stopped and all was fine. Until a holiday sports injury occurred. While watching football over the holidays, I bit down wrong on a hard and crunchy kettle chip and it cut/injured the gum right above that tooth. And of course I did exactly what I would tell my kids NOT to do and kept touching to see if it still hurt. Well after all the touching and tongue poking, of course it did. Add to that I think I had a sinus infection thing starting and yeah, ouch! The gum/cheek area starting swelling. My dentist looked at it yesterday, yep infected. Yay. Antibiotics and face pain got worse before it got better. Thus the GBBS marathon. This morning is better, antibiotics are kicking in and loosening things up. Now I get to go see if I actually need that root canal tomorrow. Happy New Year. woo to the f*ing hoo. said in jest of course. It's just one of those things that happens. Just happened to happen on NYE. Upside: its gotta get better. Right?! That's the worst!

Oh no! I hope he is okay! Mine is out taking down decorations with extreme left arm pain. Hopefully, we won’t be joining you guys at Urgent Care. That does not sound good at all. It is a heart attack symptom.

Posting at the same time! That's what I was thinking... I read an article recently that there are some employers that have stopped testing for thc because they are loosing too large a pool of good candidates. Since a lot of states are at will employers, they get to make the rules for their businesses. So they can say yes or no to weed. The employment laws have not caught up with the state laws for usage. My doctor and I have talked about this. I take a medication that is highly addictive and medical marijuana would be a MUCH better solution and achieve the same results-if not better. But I can't because the employer says no. That stinks. I am not a MJ user, but had wondered about this since states have been legalizing it's usage.

No judgement here. I actually have a condition that is "on the list" for medical marijuana. But the weird circle that is my life, I work for the state. The state law says legal, but the state as an employer says no. I can take all kinds of heavy medications and they care not one whit, but touch the weed and get tested? Lose my job. Anyway, just popping in to say good luck. Posting at the same time! That's what I was thinking...
