I'm usually sleepy when I get home. Take a long nap and have a nice meal. Next day, totally back to normal.

I get those, and they have occasionally been accompanied by retinal tears. You should get checked by an ophthalmologist to be sure. My tears were easily fixed with a laser treatment (I've had 3 of them.)

None. I knew lots of unvaccinated people who had it, most before the vaccines were available.

England has lifted its mask rules. It's now a 'use your common sense' request, which means that the vulnerable and their families continue to wear masks whether vaccinated or not, and everybody else does as they please. Last Saturday I went to my first non-medical appointment since March, the opticians', which does have a mask mandate and PPE for the staff. The Mall itself was deserted at 9am, but inside the opticians' I counted 7 people with either no masks or wearing them as chin hammocks or with their noses sticking out. Monday morning I got pinged by the Test and Trace app from that visit, and had to get a PCR test (thankfully negative). This morning I had to go back to get my new lenses fitted. Exactly the same, 7 people with no masks on at all. I was told to leave my glasses and come back in an hour. I told them I would be waiting outside or in the car because I was vulnerable, then went for a walk. An hour later I went back and they hadn't been able to fit the lenses because the new ones had been cut to the wrong size, and now I have to go back for a 3rd time. They left me waiting in the cold for an hour without ringing me, then gave the glasses back to me covered in fingerprints and grease. Once I get my glasses back I don't think I'll be going back to them. That's awful! I took my mom to pick up her glasses last week. They required masks to be worn and all the employees had them on properly. Asked us to use hand sanitizer. Kept us 6 feet from all other customers. They're under healthcare center rules (which are different from retail) and took it very seriously. I'm so sorry you had that experience.

I've taken far too much math and physics to name my child a Greek letter, lol. It's a pretty name for others, though.

Because the media is discussing the fact that he was fully vaccinated; he also had multiple myeloma. Just an FYI for anyone who didn’t know. They had a doctor on the news who said she was disgusted that some people are using his death as proof that vaccines don’t work. He was an example of why everyone should be vaccinated to protect the vulnerable. If everyone around him was vaccinated, then he would have had a better chance of avoiding catching it.

I don’t understand why this old post was bumped, especially given her devastating post from yesterday. I often will just check on threads I commented in. When you click on participated, it doesn't show who the OP was and drops you on your last post to the thread. I generally just read whatever was added since I posted and maybe add another comment. I suspect that's probably what happened.

Perfect stocking stuffer for DH because we have them every morning when they’re in season and he’s the cook. Was there a particular brand that everyone loved? So this is one I’ll add to the list This is the one I have. I love cherries, and put them yogurt for breakfast all the time. I've noticed that sometimes the airports are short staffed, so the lines can get long. Not always, but just be ready to be patient if you have to. The airlines are absolutely no nonsense about mask wearing and following orders. No fooling around about it.
All the flights I was on had the normal drink and pretzel-style snack. I've flown four times recently, and pretty much everything but the masks and seriousness of the flight crews was the same.

That would be incredibly annoying. You're totally validated. Go Sox! (Ducking my head, I thought they were out for the season weeks ago. Totally shocked they're still in it.)
Mine is the driver who was going 30 mph in a 50 zone for miles and miles where I couldn't pass. I was so hungry and just wanted to get home and eat my lunch.

Are there bad restaurants in New Orleans? I've never been to one. DH is on a plane heading there right now to visit his parents. I wish I was going, too. Have fun on your trip!

We read in there. It's a very sunny and peaceful room in the morning. We always have coffee, read the news, and chat in there before getting ready for the day. The TV is in the family room, so we usually hang out there in the evening.

I always lay them down. The cashiers tell me to do that exactly for the reason you said. Put them parallel to the sides or they roll in place.

My grocery store has been so difficult. They are renovating and a mess so they are seriously understocked. They are moving everything around and the aisles have changed multiple times in the last few weeks. Lol! I told the cashier it was like a scavenger hunt. She said she needed the laugh- most people were cranky about it.

Thanks everyone! I'm also heading to NYC with my kids in a few weeks to see some shows (Six and Hadestown.) I passed along the suggestions and told them to pick some places and make reservations. You all are the best! OMG, Hadestown is SOOOOO good. Enjoy! I can’t wait! I picked it because I kept hearing songs from the show on xm. I’d keep looking up these fabulous songs and they were always from Hadestown!

I try my best to stay out of the Times Square area as much as possible (I work on 37th St so sometimes this is tough) but if you want a meal in that area, I'd recommend John's. Great pizza, though they don't do slices. Their pasta dishes are really good too. The restaurant is beautiful, it's a converted church. Food's a little pricey for what it is, but that's Times Square for you. They're on W. 44th St, between 8th and 9th Aves www.johnspizzerianyc.com/I also really like Coppelia, they're on W 14th St and 7th Ave. Cuban food, sort of a diner but more upscale, if that makes sense. ilovecoppelia.com/Not a restaurant, but if you find yourself in Chelsea, visit The Ink Pad! They're on W 19th St between 7th and 8th Aves, so about 7 or so blocks from the James Beard House and 5 1/2 from Coppelia. Tell them I sent you! www.shoptheinkpad.com/pages/ny-shopOh, if you want bagels - check out Zucker's, Ess-A-Bagel, Murray's, or Russ and Daughters, though I'm sure any place would have something good. I'm not sure if it'll be over when you come out, but Smorgasburg is also a lot of fun! They have a small handful of vendors at WTC every Friday but the big ones are in Brooklyn. I think Smorgasburg only runs through October though. We went in there because we were tired and hungry after walking around -- and were totally surprised at how good the pizza was. It was delicious and the building is beautiful.

Run an old-fashioned telephone switchboard. My summer job Freshman year in college was as a switchboard operator. It was super old fashioned at the time, and the next summer I was replaced by a phone with a bunch of lines.
How to write and run computer programs with a card punch. That's all we had in high school.
Mostly how to derive and calculate things by hand. My first calculator was four function. You had to use tables and math to do anything else.

Following the above about Arizona....Nothing will matter IF too many of these people get elected!! JD Vance is an author, former Wall Street trader and current senate candidate in Ohio. He was a guest on Tucker Carlson's white-power hour. He railed against people he doesn't like. " The basic way this works is that the Ford Foundation, the Gates Foundation, the Harvard University endowment — these are fundamentally cancers on American society, but they pretend to be charities, and so they benefit from preferential tax
He continued: "Why don't we seize the assets of the Ford Foundation, tax their assets, and give it to the people who've had their lives destroyed by their radical open borders agenda?"*** To wit, JD Vance identified an enemy who, as the enemy, is no longer entitled to the rights, liberties and privileges of the in-group, i.e., the Republicans. The enemy deserves whatever's coming to it. In this case, "asset forfeiture," a violation of the sacred right to property, as conservatives in the past would have understood it. In this, Vance is helpfully describing how the Republican Party has changed from a party elevating the interests of the individual to a party elevating the interests of the collective at the expense of the individual. If we insist on it being a conservative party, we're actually misunderstanding it. *** This freedom, you may have noticed, is upside down, backward and prolapsed. It's also a key feature of authoritarian collectivism. You are not free when the governor, for instance, Florida's Ron DeSantis, not only permits the coronavirus to spread unfettered but forbids local authorities from preventing its spread. You are free, however, when the governor, for instance, Connecticut's Ned Lamont, takes your side against the coronavirus and legally forces scofflaws to get vaccinated. Members of the authoritarian collective see it the other way around. "In Australia right now … they're still enforcing lockdowns by the military," DeSantis said this week. "Is Australia freer than communist China right now? The fact that's even a question tells you something has gone dramatically off the rails." In fact, it's nothing of the sort. www.rawstory.com/a-republican-senate-candidate-s-remarks-reveal-the-party-s-slide-into-authoritarian-collectivism/Isn't that the definition of socialism?

I’ve had 30 on that list, it appears, but I think the only one I have had in my adult life was the pumpkin-spice Twinkie, which I know I tried as a joke. My mother used to pop a hostess package into my lunch most days. If I did that now, I bet I’d get a note home.Ha Ha I'll do you one better. Our school served lunches that often included a ho-ho or fruit pie.

I've only had 4 -- and not since I was a little kid, so the really old fashioned ones, lol. I used to love their chocolate cupcakes frozen. I don't really buy stuff like that because I love to bake so much. I have a lemon bundt cake in the oven now.
ETA I love that puzzle!
