All medical tests give false positives and false negatives. Even the PCR covid tests are not 100%. Sometimes, there are mistakes, either in the test medium itself or human error in performing or reading the tests. It doesn’t mean the tests are overall ‘not very accurate’ Well if you feel that 50% in this case is very accurate we will just have to disagree. I know of far too many false positives to feel they are "very accurate". OK. 50% would be what we call a fake statistic. You can't extrapolate from such tiny sample size.

Not yet, but I'm heading to NYC to go to some Broadway shows later this month. They require them.

I'd have no problem with that. I know the tests aren't as accurate, but if it makes her comfortable I'd do it. So long as she was nice about asking I'd definitely accommodate her.

I'm sorry you're getting pulled in. It's time to set boundaries for yourself. Set aside time for these things so that you're initiating and not reacting. That way it feels more within your control. Turn off read receipt and notifications. Take back your time and decide when and how much time YOU want to spend on it.

Just a couple Abita beers whenever we had one.
A friend recently brought over Costco spinach triangles (frozen) that she baked with triangles of pepperjack cheese on top. They were gobbled down at our cookout.

I use it for my cat's medication at Walmart. It's $21 there and $100 elsewhere. My vet helped me set it up. If you have the correct dosage/quantity, as @pbandj said, that's the price you pay. A very helpful program.

I think this has been mentioned earlier in the thread - Sex Education on Netflix. Series 3 recently released. I'm loving it and watching it slowly so it lasts a bit longer Anyone watching Vigil? - BBC crime set partly on a submarine with the marvelous Suranne Jones. I had to watch the end of episode 5 through my fingers - ooof that was scary! On Binge/Foxtel in Aus not sure who is streaming it in the US maryannscraps The Morning Show is great - I'm re-watching the last 2 of season 1 to refresh my memory. Can't wait to start season 2We're really disappointed in the start of season 2. It's just straight out whining by everyone because they aren't getting what they want. I hope it gets better. The first season was so good.

We're right on an approach turn for Logan airport in Boston. It's fun to know where the planes are coming from. The kids use it to track where DH is flying (small single engine plane.) DD asked me the other day why he didn't land in Bar Harbor on his flight. I hadn't even told her he was out there. Apparently she gets notifications when his plane leaves the airport.

I have had this Kohler Farmhouse Sink since 2013 and it still looks great. Cleans very easily with my usual Method cleaner and/or Barkeepers Friend. I keep the 2 piece stainless grid in the sink bottom as addition protection (and that's for my dishes as much as the sink). The dishpan issue isn't a problem for me since we have a laundry room sink in the adjoining room. I keep a collapsible tub under the sink for times I need soapy water for cleaning or hand washing. It goes back under the sink when I’m done. It folds flat and stores easily to the side. Do you have a link handy for this tub? I just bought this sink for our kitchen renovation. Can’t wait to have it. 😁

We've been watching The Morning Show on Apple TV. I'm surprised at how good it is -- it's nuanced on a difficult subject. It's about a long time morning show (think The Today Show). The male cohost is fired after a sexual misconduct scandal, and his female partner is left fighting for her job. It stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell.

I went for a walk with a friend in the lovely New England town she lives in. I was admiring a garden in front of a gorgeous antique house, and started to tell her how pretty their butterfly bush was. Before I could finish the sentence, dozens of Monarch butterflies flew out of it and started swarming around us. I felt like I was in a Disney movie!

Please be reassured that there are NO side effects that show up years later from vaccines. That's not how they work. If you haven't had an issue within a week or two, you never will. That's from more than 75 years of studying vaccine effects. And the current COVID vaccines work in the same way -- the actual vaccine components are gone from your body in a relatively short time.
I'm glad you are protecting yourself and those around you.

Are you trying to say that we shouldn't be vaccinating or masking children to prevent more than 200 deaths last year? Or you don't think we care about children being murdered by guns to be important? I'm not sure of what you're trying to portray with your post.
I care about the safety and health of all children, especially after they are born.

Perhaps it will be canceled. Mine was earlier this year. Otherwise, since you're vaccinated, wear an N95 and you'll be fine.

I don't mind any of them, and really love some of them. I have a soft spot for Don't Worry Be Happy because I absolutely adore Bobby McFerrin. He's one of the most talented all around musicians ever.

I've done 6-8 hour drives many times by myself. I don't like to go much more than 6 hours straight, because I get sleepy and distracted after that. If I stop for the night, I can go another 6 hours the next day. With another driver, I've done the Massachusetts to Florida or Louisiana drive a few times.

My husband's office recently redid their kitchen and added the combo microwaves. He said they are a huge hit. I'm renovating my kitchen shortly and plan to put one in. Then I can get rid of the convection toaster oven and just have a regular (small) toaster. I suspect I'd use it all the time as I use both the microwave and the convection toaster oven multiple times a day.

I thought Billie Eilish was gorgeous. I don’t know who Yara Shahidi is but she was stunning. And Kaia Gerber is a beautiful young woman whose dress was perfect for her. Anok Yai - don’t know who she is either - wore a very pretty black and white (silver?) dress. Billie Eilish's gowns were fantastic. I had no idea she looked like that, which was totally her point in always wearing baggy androgenous clothes. Very cool in completely changing her look like that.

I really loved this year -- it seemed much more artsy and fun than previous years. The Oscars are for elegant, but the Met Gala is for costumes.

I don't have any weight loss advice, but I'm here to validate your feelings. It's easy to say "don't stress over it" or "buy another dress". Having had gastric bypass myself (back in 2003), I know what gaining weight and not being able to loose it can do to someone mentally and emotionally. I'm currently going through the same thing. Came back from a five week vacation where I didn't watch what I ate, and where I didn't work out at all. Injured my foot, so I am just now getting back into working out (after almost three months of no exercise). We have our annual Crocktoberfest party coming up in about five weeks, and I am freaking out about what people will think about the 15 pounds I have gained, and about how I won't fit into any of my Dirndl dresses. It doesn't matter how many times I am assured that nobody will care, and that I look great etc.... I can't turn off my feelings. That's the thing with gastric bypass surgery: it is a wonderful and amazing tool.... but it doesn't change what's going on in your head! I am sorry you're having such a hard time losing those ten pounds. I wish I had a surefire way to get rid of that extra weight. Unfortunately, I don't. But I'm here to say that you're not alone, and that I totally get where you're coming from, because I can relate to your situation. Good luck, and have a blast on vacation!!! I agree that the OP's feelings are certainly valid. But committing to losing the weight over a reasonable period of 2 months, rather than in a panic of 2 weeks, will keep the ultimate goal in mind without feeling like shit before and during a really special vacation. She can work on her thoughts and feelings about it -- commit to longer term goals -- and look forward to a really special time. It really will be okay. Same with your extra 15 pounds, and my 20. I'm totally working on my head as much as my butt.

I'm on my second Foodsaver from Costco. The first one lasted about 15 years, and I'm about 5 years in to this one. I picked it because, well...Costco made the choice for me. I use it more than once a week.
I buy replacement bags on Amazon -- I pretty much only use the quart and gallon sized bags and I can buy a box of 50 pretty cheaply. No problems with them whatsoever.
I use it to divide meats from Costco, freeze prepared meals (I tend to batch cook a meal and freeze a few), excess produce from the farm stand at this time of year (I love to freeze fresh corn, roasted tomatoes, and pureed squash for winter), among other things.
Mine is a little bulky, but I store it in the island cabinet. If I had a choice, I'd prefer the smaller one that doesn't have roll storage in it, because I don't use the rolls.
Definitely worth the price to me.

Why don’t you get a dress that fits you now and enjoy the next couple weeks looking forward to your trip. No sense making yourself miserable for something that’s supposed to be fun.
