My dad. He has health issues and should stay in. He is a super social person and I knew this would be a struggle for him. He used to go out everyday for something prior to the lock down. Me and my brother are doing our best to keep him in but mom says he's been sneaking out. I know the longer the lock down goes on the tougher it will be to keep him in. Short of tying him down I don't know what else we can do but to keep after him to stay put.

Here's the letter with the list of items. The problem is that now the neighboring county, which has had no positive cases so far, is seeing a HUGE uptick in customers at the stores. Unfortunately the county where both my kids work and where we do our shopping and other business. I neighbor that county, too. When me and DH saw this on the news we thought it was a joke. I think someone is close to a commissioner had to close their business and complained and this is the result.

Our ND seems to have a lot of posts for lost pets. I do like that most pets are found and returned to their owners. The strangest thing I've seen is one guy wanted to start a swingers group. That didn't go over well at all!

I am so jealous of those of you that have lower premiums. DH and I own a small business and we pay $1223.00 per month, no vision or dental. We are self pay.

I have a couple of Little Black Sambo books that belonged to my grandmother. I don't even like to get them out of the drawer their in. I'll probably end up keeping them until I die and then they will be my daughter's problem.

Cruisin' with hubby in our 1951 Buick. Went to several car shows and local cruise-ins. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing.

I ordered vitamins and tracked it all the way to Oahu. Nothing after that. I got a notice from Amazon on Saturday that the item was lost and they were refunding me as item was no longer available. Checked online and its still available. I ordered some probiotics and they have apparently been lost at a sorting facility. I was refunded my money but I have reordered yet. How strange!

I have it and I love it. I travel frequently and use the navigation all the time. I have not had to use the roadside assistance but knowing it's there is worth the cost to me. In a couple of years I won't be traveling nearly as much and will probably cancel it.

My great-grandmother used to use that phrase. We lived in mid-Michigan but no one in our family was French. I had completely forgot about that until you posted!

I have insomnia often but found some things that have really helped 1) Have a set bedtime that allows you to get at least 7 hours of sleep - (ex: if you must get up at 6 am, make sure you are in bed at least by 11pm) 2) Ensure the room is a little cool and there are no lights (no TV, no cellphones or other electronics, etc) 3) Stop using cellphones/computers at least 2 hours before bedtime (I set a 9pm deadline and generally do not use them after 9pm) 4) Try herbal solutions before bed, I find that Valerian Root works good for me. 5) On nights, when I wake up and cannot fall back to sleep, I listen to some videos I found on youtube that help you fall asleep (like hypnosis videos) - I don't watch them, I just turn them on, plug in my earphones and close my eyes and they usually help me drift off back to sleep. Sorry you are dealing with this - it is so hard when you can't sleep - it effects so many aspects of your life. I agree with all of this. I would add you could try a magnesium supplement. I take one about an hour before bed it helps a lot. You may have to play with the dosage as magnesium will affect your bowel movements. I've also found that once I cut out caffeine my sleep really improved. I use to drink one or two cups of coffee in the morning and one after right after lunch (to help with that mid afternoon slump). I now drink one cup of decaf in the morning and none after lunch. I was amazed how much even a cup of decaf after lunch affected my sleep. I miss the coffee but I like sleeping through the night a lot better!

I have a long-haired cat with the same issues. I gave up trying to do it myself after a very nasty scratch became infected. Now I take her to the vet, who sedates her and then removes the mats. It's the only way I can keep her properly groomed. It cost me about $250 each time and I take her about twice a year.

I was in a lot of pain in the beginning and my shoulders and hips were affected the most. I could hardly bend over or raise my arms above shoulder level until the steroids kicked in. My hubby had to help me in and out bed and chairs. If I dropped something, oh well, too bad, it stayed on the floor. PMR affects everyone differently. Some have more pain in different joints than others. I was able to do most of my daily routine within a week of starting the steroids. Now I find the fatigue the worst part of PMR. If your dad has PMR the steroids should start with help with 24 - 48 hours.

Yes, I have it. I was diagnosed with it about a year ago. And you are correct the only treatment is prednisone. My doctor told me not to take NSAIDS but I can take regular aspirin. I am currently on 9mg per day. I started at 20mg per day and have slowly reduced. Usually after being on prednisone for a couple of days people feel much, much better. If he doesn't he may need to take the dose up until the pain is under control. There are a couple of excellent PMR forums at Healthunlocked.com and Patient.info with some very knowledgeable people. I've gotten most of my information from those forums.
People with PMR need to be prepared for a long journey. Most are on steroids for 4 - 5 years before it goes into remission. Some are on steroids for life. Flares are common and you have to start all over with the meds.
One more thing, if he starts to get headaches and jaw pain get him to a doctor or ER ASAP. This could be a sign of Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA). GCA can cause blindness if not treated right away. GCA and PMR commonly happen together so watch for it.

Yep, I get night sweats. They are horrible! I bought new pajamas that are made from bamboo and will wick the sweat away. They do help some but some nights I am still drenched. I have found that avoiding sugar and alcohol helps, too. I'm 57, for reference.

No wait for me. I voted around 7:30 am and one of the poll workers said that was the busiest they had been. There were four of voters at the time. Hope more people in my district decide to get out and vote!

Sounds like something my DH would do. The last big snow fall we had, he dug his truck out and said "let's go for a ride and see what's going on in town!" I told him he was insane. First, they had already declared an emergency situation and no one was to be out on the roads, second no one would be out and about in town, and third I'm not getting dressed and going roaming around in 12" of snow. I was told I was a whole lotta no fun. Too bad, dude!

We have a local credit union that has been running an ad with a customer testimonial that just pisses me off. The premise is that the customer, let's call him Joe Midwest, has a son that is engaged to a woman from Japan and the wedding will be there. He says that "within 3 days" of the engagement he went to the credit union to get a credit card that will work internationally. Uhm dude, they didn't move a mountain for you and pretty much any credit card will work internationally. But the kicker is when he laughs and tells his son to "keep her" when he finds out he will get to go to a Japan for the wedding. Keep her?!?! The feminist in me wants to throats punch him through the tv every time. You and I must live in the same state. I see this one all the time, too. Drives me crazy!

Just some of things to look for:
1. Make sure the contract is a month-to-month or for a very short term. If it's not a MTM I'd recommend it be no longer a year and definitely not more than two. 2. Make sure you know who owns the equipment. Usually these type of systems are leased and the equipment goes immediately back to the company once you cancel, and that is fine. You probably don't want to keep it anyway. 3. Find out who pays if the system needs repairs. Normal usage repairs should be covered if the system is leased but sometimes they are not. Repairs due to misuse, damaged, lost parts are not usually covered in either case.
It's always good to know the details of the contract.
