Hi ladies! I haven't been here in forever, been dealing with some health issues and family issues that have taken all my time and energy. I hope everyone is well! I'm making pork chops and mushroom risotto, probably with some cooked beets on the side. A warm meal for a gloomy, gray day.

I've looked online about endometrial ablation and it seems about 50/50 good and bad experiences. I have been bleeding every day since 1/3. I've been to the doctor for a previous 7 week period and had ultrasound and biopsy done to rule out cancer, etc. That one stopped on its own after 7 weeks. It's been 6 weeks for this one so far. I was put back on the pill. After 4 weeks they doubled the dosage, to no avail. I'm guessing my next step will be ablation. I'm a bit worried about how many bad experiences I've come across. It's also about 50/50 whether or not any anesthesia of any kind was given. I understand the procedure is pretty painful...??
What are your experiences of the procedure and recovery, and would you do it again?

I would say at first thought that I cry a couple times a month. Lately it's been more because of our recent move and some extraordinary drama and stress that occurred with that. I do tear up at the movies, sometimes (rarely) with tv. I can cry out of happiness, anger, anxiety, sadness, depression. I guess that makes me a crier.

I'm moving from a house with central vacuuming to a condo and I need a new vacuum. I don't know what's good out there except it seems the vacuums with bags do a better job than the bagless kind. I'd like a vacuum with onboard tools, but i'm not having much luck. Please tell me what your vacuum is and why you love it.... or hate it!

I'm in the market for a new fridge. It needs to be stainless steel to match the other appliances. What are your favorite features? Side by side? French doors with fridge on top, freezer on bottom? Pros/cons? Thanks for any help you can give.

I think you need to read the job description more carefully. I think this is a legitimate job. Biologic contaminants that could wipe out the human race is not neccessarly "aliens" as Hollywood would make them out to be.

I made Ina Garten's recipe for meatloaf and the dang thing fell totally apart. I let it sit before trying to slice it, too. It was delicious crumbled meat though.

Gorgeous photos cadoodlebug!! Dd is hoping her two girlfriends are coming over late this afternoon and she's making tacos. We have avocado for guacamole so I'm very happy!! My sister, daughter, granddaughter and I went to the beach earlier today. I posted this picture on Facebook...my favorite girl in my favorite place! Your granddaughter is adorable! She has such a cute little elfin face! (I want grandkids so bad, but no one is cooperating!)

Homemade eggrolls! My dd is coming over to help, she has happy memories of being 10 years old and helping me make eggrolls. I had some wrappers to use up, so we are revisiting the past! I love hearing about their happy memories, sometimes they seem few and far between.

We've had experiences from both sides, so to speak. Once our neighbors were having a big party, which they told all the neighbors about. They invited us to drop in, but we weren't friends yet, they had just moved in next door, and it was a family thing in which we didn't want to intrude on. Their music was so loud that it was instantly annoying, because not only was it extremely loud, it was rap music, which I loathe. We let it be for a while, thinking they would adjust the volume, but they never did. I have no idea how anyone had a conversation it was so loud. We ended up leaving to go see a movie because we just couldn't stand it any longer.
The other situation that happened was my parents used their backyard for the reception of my brother and his wife. The whole place was set up beautifully, and right in the middle of the reception, a huge wind storm came through and blew everything around, tables blew over, tablecloths and flowers went flying. My parents ended up with tons of people in the house, which they had never intended, walking through bedrooms and other rooms that they weren't invited to see. I would seriously reconsider having the reception in your yard, you might be getting or giving more than you bargained for.

After last night's risotto fiasco where I made the dish and then when it came out looking like soup, I was reminded that putting in the rice is essential to a good risotto. DOH! Dh was a good sport. Tonight I'm going to make risotto with the arborio rice included. " style="max-width:100%;"] We must be kindred spirits. I thought I'd try making stroganoff like a one pot skillet, where you cook the pasta right in the pan. Stupid me added so much water I must have been thinking about boiling it normally and I covered the pasta completely with water. Hello bland soup *slightly* resembling stroganoff, goodbye mouth-watering dinner. Tonight we ate at Taco Bell. I think my dh just couldn't face the leftovers. scrapmaven I hope your tube issues are soon resolved. littlemama I am sorry for your loss.

It's after 6 and I still don't know. Dh and I had salad bar and shared a slice of pizza for lunch. I'm low-carb-ing, and I am sooooooo sick of salad. I figured a half slice of pizza would be okay and help stop me from going on a crazy binge! I'm a carboholic, but this low carb diet is the only one that works well for me, I've lost 30 pounds! It's so hot, we don't really want anything hot, I think we'll just nibble and fend for ourselves tonight. I might have some egg salad on celery or lettuce leaves.

It's movie afternoon for us, so we will be eating restaurant fare tonight. So hard to find something low carb besides a salad. I'm so sick of salad. Ok, I could have grilled chicken and a salad. Big whoop. I had that yesterday. (How do I get the cute smilies you all use?)

My Idaho farmer grandparents had their main meal at lunchtime and it was called dinner. Then in the evening they would have bread and milk or something light, and it was called supper.

You sound full of complaints, to be honest. Maybe your attitude about it all shows through and that's why she's going to spend all day with MIL, idk. Reflect on your attitude for a minute. Language like "slap in the face" and going on about her pizza with friends, they don't write long heartfelt letters, using your ingredients (who cares? She has to buy all new eggs and bread or whatever for it to count?), the time isn't right, whatever. Maybe you're right and your kids are jerks, but I've read enough threads here over the years to know some moms push their kids away without realizing the part they play in that. You're right, I do sound full of complaints. I'm just hurt, that's all. Thanks for you comments I will take them to heart. I guess we all need improvement somewhere.

I am sorry. (ps why is her account attached to yours? How does that even happen without your permission?) Our bank recently changed their whole online banking where now when you login you can see all your accounts. Well, I had to sign with her and also with my son when they first got accounts as teenagers. We forgot all about it, until the new changeover, and it shows their accounts to me. I went to the bank today and removed myself from their accounts.

I'm so over Mother's Day. My grown children are never prepared with anything. It's not about the gift though. It's that they just don't care enough to even write a heart felt letter. I just feel like I get the leftovers of whatever holiday. My middle dd called my dh tonight and asked if she could come over and make breakfast for me (using my ingredients) at 6:30am. 6:30!!! Because she is just so broke and doesn't have any money. Well her checking account is connected to mine recently, (I have to go to the bank about that), and it's right there as I open my account so I wasn't snooping. I can see that she's spent a lot of money doing her fun things, spending $75 for pizza for her friends. I know it's not of my business what she spends her money on, but it sure make me feel bad that I'm just an afterthought to her. And why is she in such a hurry? Because she wants to spend the day with her fiance's mom. What a nice slap in the face. My adult son will probably forget as usual, and my senior dd won't do anything either. Now, if I were you, I'd be questioning why that is...is she a bad mom? Does she deserve no recognition? I am a good mom, and it hurts when there's a freaking holiday advertised everywhere you turn and you can't even write a note.
I'm just done. At least my husband will take me to Red Lobster, which he hates, but I love. Love that guy!

I'm disappointed that Squillen's site seems to be gone for the most part. There are a couple of recipes from 2013, but there is no menu or recipe section at all.
ETA: I take it back, it all came back, and I don't know what I did to get it! ...just ignore me...

I made crockpot chicken parmesan last night, so we will have leftovers from that. Here's a handy tip: when the crockpot recipe says put the pasta in 30 minutes before serving, don't believe it. It was right on the edge of super mushy. It was edible, but would have been quite good if I had put in the pasta only 15 minutes before serving.

My mom used to make a huge bowl of popcorn with m&m's, raisins, peanuts and pass it out to us in big paper cups. We loved that, especially because we never got m&m's at home! We take a laundry basket with chips, pretzels, m&m's, granola or cereal bars, water or crystal light, bananas or apples (whatever needs to be used up in the fridge). My husband likes to suck on hard candy while he drives, he says it keeps him awake. I like the snack box idea for little kids. I wish I had known that when my kids were little!

Facebook....I am so tired of some of the things I read and I just can't say what I really want, because it would be mean. For example, my ex-SIL (who I truly like) was vague posting about her ex husband and his cheating....ummm.. one of your kids does not look like the others....we all know who cheated. I actually have never heard her talk about his cheating until now, and they've been divorced for years. This may not mean anything. My dh and I have 3 children, and they are all different. One is medium tan, brown hair, green eyes; one is dark tan, dark hair, brown eyes; one is fair, blonde, blue eyes. A lot has to do with what genes we received from our parents that show up in our kids. My vent, carpet people, please get over here and install our new carpet, we want to list our home with photos!

I wouldn't want to walk through the dining room at night, that big one in the corner would make me run screaming if I saw it in the dark. Clowns' smiles become automatically devilish and psychotic at night.

We had so much wind night before last that it uprooted and tossed a HUGE tree into our neighbor's across the street driveway, thankfully not on their house. I could hear the saws going at the crack of dawn, so I started my day off grumpy too. I have to go choose colors for our new condo this afternoon, which I am excited about, but none of my people (dh, dd, or bff) are free to go help me. There is an open invitation out for any pea that can meet me at 3:00 to do this! I know I will be in no mood to cook when I get home. Fibro allows me to do 2-3 things max in a day before I can't go anymore. You know what I want for mother's day? A Star Trek replicator! When are they going to come up with this technology??!! Push a button, say what you want (i.e. pasta salad) and bleep! There it is. And no dishes afterwards. Just put them in the replicator to be recycled. I want credit for this idea when it happens.
