no foiling for me...I do have the old fashioned ones before the minc, do you remember they came in a flip pac with foil and flock pages, where you used glue...but do not pull them out. Very interested in the link, no interest in the minc.
but I do like glitz!!

I don't journal very much, need to journal more. IF I do it is usually a handwritten line or 2 about what is going on and what the pic represents. On a tag or a journal card. Actually did one on Saturday...a pic of my dd's dog who just got spit up on by their baby. She was standing in the wrong place at the wrong time. I like today's challenge. Was able to do a couple more on Saturday. But my point and shoot crapped out..so will post some pics later.

I love summer layouts, I think I bring the sunshine in by using fun summery papers. Next to the Christmas collection, these are a big part of my 'stash'. I esp love the summer lines by Echo Park.
Looks like we will have sun today, so I will try to get out and take pics.
thanks for these prompts...and the inspiration page.

Constant online shopper here..Amazon, Scrapbook.com, and recently A Cherry On Top. I keep running carts and whenever I see something here or on other scrapper's blogs, or on youtube (yeah, thanks, y'all)!!!...I put it in my cart. Then when it is time to buy, I review how 'impulsey' that was...and then hit buy. I don't delete much.
I spend the most on...ha!, right now cannot get enough of Project Life type of cards... I enjoy shopping for...everything! A pain?...getting out of the house to shop for groceries, instead of scrapping!
I did scrap this morning..a layout that took me over 2 hours....it was of my dgd#2 with my late fil. Guess I really wanted to make this one 'right'. Did use a clock on it, so that is one May challenge done.

Right now I am working on grandchildren books...they get one per year, so holidays, birthdays go in chronological order in the book.
I have done Shimelle's Christmas albums...where each year gets its own year, with a pic and journalling each day.
and when it is a special event, like fil's 80th birthday, it will get its own album.
Challenge might be an easier one for me, as I can do dgd's Halloween pic from last year....it is next in the stack!

I make a few cards...more this year than any other.
I have made albums as gifts or for special occasions for family and close friends. Not so much anymore. It has been a few years since the last one.
Almost made one for my niece's graduation (like KikiPea) (and the pics she shows are beautiful) BUT then I realized all my niece's facebook pics were of parties...not gonna make a scrapbook of that! Though thought of using Kesha lyrics...siiiiigh.
My next one is a mini album requested by my daughter's mil...a small handful of pics so probably a lunch bag mini with lots of tags!!
Perhaps a memorial book of my fil for my mil...I made one for my bro in law after his girlfriend passed, and it is still at my house, he could not look at it at the time.

like lisadv I think of trim as borders...strips, lace, washi even.
I don't have a go-to.
but this challenge is making me think of pulling out a border punch and using it, as I have a collection that does not get used.

Mojo can be elusive for me also, but I think it is knowing I have a space of time. Whether at a crop or at home, just don't seem to be able to scrap in between other things.
Also, other scrapper's pages can give me Mojo, see a color combo or design element that I want to copy...er...emulate.
This weekend was not a good scrapping weekend, and I hosted a crop! Only one layout finished since I was hosting....BUT...I got 3 cards made (I was teaching techniques), learned how to roll flowers from my Art Philosophy cartridge (one of the kids figured it out for us) and got @12k steps in for the day...so not a total 'bust'.
We are having services for my fil this Friday...so this week is going to be crazy with prep...but I don't think anyone has anything planned for Saturday. it will be a quiet, recovery day...so, might get to spend some time in the scraproom solo ....

love the layouts!
Big Picture - I like that I am documenting for the family, but I think #1 for me is the enjoyment of creating. I am not an 'artist' and this is a way I can participate in art. This was my empty nest therapy...and I just love it.
rarely scrap a large photo, will see what I can find and do...

For my daughter, homeschooling was difficult. She is a perfectionist, would cry over one missed word, and way too much a social butterfly. So for her, the traditional school setting (private) was a better fit. She thrived, was involved...did student government, theater....on and on.
DS, in elementary years was a different story. If the other students at school were 'slackers' he went into that mode. He was a good kid, so not getting the attention he needed. Kinda put in a corner while teachers dealt with the troublemakers. When I started with him in 4th grade, he was testing 30 percentile in Math...by the time he went to the private school for high school, we got him up to 80%. He was not quite the social butterfly that dd was...he did do Tae Kwon Do then Krav Maga for sports, joined a homeschool band, and we got together with local homeschoolers for Art, Science experiments, cooking class. We found that he was an auditory learner, so for reading, he could read aloud at his desk in a homeschool setting. So we were able to adjust.
His first year back to a traditional setting he wanted to go back to homeschooling at first. But I told him that door was closed, and he eventually adjusted.
Happy? hmmmmm, don't know. It was simply our life at the time. Even a trip to Hawaii became a lesson. Keeping a journal, learning geography, history...that sort of thing.

Thanks for these prompts, this has been fun
playlist for music, I usually listen to Christian music, but have a variety depending on my mood. Sometimes will listen to Classical, Michael Buble, Darius Rucker, even have Fergie or Spice Girls just for fun and energy. At crops, I listen to whatever mix the gals are listening to. And it usually is a good mix of pop/country/oldies.
playlist for cropping. Always start with pictures, also usually 3, pp, coordinating cardstock. And from there anything goes as far as embellishing, I don't really have a standby. I have been setting up for a crop I am hosting, and did grab ... Stampin Up's Creamy Caramel ink pad for edging, Smash pens for journaling, I use the glitter pens a lot (granddaughters) so they are at hand. Lately, project life cards and die cuts make appearances, even on a non pocket page.

grammadee, so far I do use my misti whenever I stamp with the cling stamps...but I find that I am so bad at getting a clear image and I need to do it twice most of the time, so it is a good tool for me.

all the above. Well, not scared of sewing, just don't want to mess with setting it up.
very bad at straight lines, cannot hand cut one worth a darn.
embellie clusters, I LOVE them, but cannot seem to do them well
and stamping.
I 'fear' stamping direct on a project, as I don't get a super good image, consistently. But my Misti is helping with that on smaller paper.

Just bought myself a fuse tool and have enjoyed it..now, of course I need a supply of sequins. In every size and color
I really want to learn the 'splatter' technique. I seem to only make a mess. I asked a gal at my recent crop and she showed me her techniques....so I bought the Tim Holtz sprayer (rec'd yesterday) she recommended and will need to spend some time working on it. That is even what she said, spend some time, get messy.
Did you know Amazon won't deliver the sprayer to my home?? I've had that with a set of copics also...so I got it on Scrapbook.com. I get this message, cannot deliver to that address. I tried dh's business address and got the same message...interesting.
grammadee, I think I need that May kit...with 2 granddaughters, I love all things pretty.

hmmmm, I do have some pp's that I treat as Grandma's best china...too pretty to pull out and use.
But my biggest hump is embellishing...I tend to underembellish, as I am a little scared of not doing it well.
And, over the weekend, I made dd and dsil an anniversary card...and as I was outlining the main element with a marker...the marker slipped and made a line where I did not want it. (ended up putting a congratulations cut out banner over the spot). Had to keep telling myself, "there are no mistakes...only opportunities to embellish"
So, that is a fear, that I can ruin something...this was my 3rd try at the element, it was an embossed heart, then I used gelatos to create an ombre effect...it took 3 tries just to get that thee way I wanted it. So sometimes I think I stop early, cuz I'm afraid I will mess it up.

good news, dh is out of town for the weekend and I am hosting a crop...it is with my young adult Sunday School kids, we will see if they actually show...but if they don't ... I get the house to myself to scrapbook. win win.
happy layouts, since I scrapbook my grandkids (mostly) all my layouts are happy...but, I think it is like others have said, the bright, fun colors...and bling to sparkle.
Happy Birthday, myboysnme....my birthday is next week and I've always felt like May is MY month. Back in the day, dh and the kids would take me shopping. Now, ds has made it a tradition to take me to a movie, as dh will not go into a movie theater. (too many people, head lice, germs...same reason he won't eat at buffets)
