Kielbasa and saurkraut. According to DH and kids, no celebration is complete without it: holidays, weddings, etc.

DGS had an ultrasound of his kidneys today to follow up on a prenatal ultrasound that showed an enlarged kidney (he is about 1 week old). The pediatirician called DD and said that he has a grade 4 hydronephrosis in one kidney and a grade 1 in the other.
He has an appointment with the ped tomorrow, and the pediatric urologist (who is in town only once a month) is supposed to call DD tonight or tomorrow morning. That's all the information we have so far, and are very worried.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? DD (and the rest of us) are wondering what to expect as far as treatment, etc.
Any information would be appreciated. TIA.

I'm so sorry you're hurting. ((hugs))
Nothing I can say will make it better-- I wish I had some "magic words".
You will feel better. Maybe not in a few minutes, or tomorrow, but you will. Break-ups suck.

We are getting together with DD and her family on New Year's day to celebrate Christmas this year. They have decided that since the baby came that they will celebrate Christmas Day with just the three of them. They will go to her DH's parents' house on Christmas Eve. It is fine with me.
I love Christmas, and I think it's great to spread the celebrations out.

"No" means No whether you are:
On a date Invited to a celebrity's hotel room A child on a playground A student in a PE class who doesn't want to go in the pool An employee who is asked to do something you consider unethical A person under the influence of drugs (including alcohol) Someone nobody approves of Anyone else who says, "No"
That's all. Carry on.

Now I'm craving apple pie.
Hot or cold, with cinnamon, made with Mc Intosh apples. Some vanilla ice cream on the side would be nice.

The family demands this for every holiday.

Topping: ½ cup crushed Ritz crackers (10) ½ cup brown sugar ½ stick butter, melted ¼ cup chopped pecans

No ribbons or bows. The cats find them and chew on them. Nobody wants to open a gift with cat spit on it.
I do feel a little guilty, though. My mom always made her own bows-- flowers, other shapes. They were a work of art. I imagine her judging me from the grave, lol.

My name is Laurel and I am a stuffing addict. I could easily skip the turkey and go directly to the stuffing.
Oh, and the mashed potatoes and gravy. And cranberries.
Some year I'm going to just do just sides for Thanksgiving.

Thanks, everyone. This was a long time coming. After DD having fertility problems and such a difficult delivery and DS swearing he'll never get married or have children, this may be my one and only grandchild. I can live with that.

Anything that involves driving when the roads are crappy-- running errands, going to work, etc.
I wouldn't mind winter if it didn't involve driving while slipping, sliding, and getting stuck.

And I am over the moon!
Logan Daniel was born on November 14 at 1:54 a.m.
He is officially the love of my life. DD's labor and delivery was long and difficult, but she says it was "so well worth it".

I love my night guard! I have one that my dentist made for me (expensive, but worth it) and I take it with me to my regular appointments. They do any adjustments to it at that time.
As for cleaning, I just brush it with my toothbrush under running water and put it in a glass of water with a denture tablet.
I have virtually no jaw pain and many fewer headaches since I've been using it.

DD is expecting a baby within the next couple of weeks. She doesn't want to take a new baby out that soon, but want us to go there. I told her I would make dinner and clean up at her place, but she said that what she really wants is just to put on a big pot of chili and hang out. So we're doing chili and spending the day with our new grandchild.

Cast iron would probably be your best bet. Season it, and keep it seasoned and it should serve you well.

I can think of a few:
Sally Sackrider (poor dear needs to change her last name) Pooh Bear (he ended up joining a gang and going to prison) Latrina (sorry, but it's too much like "latrine") Birdie House (she lived on Chickadee St., I kid you not) Laurel Hardy (maiden name (not mine). What were her parents thinking?!)

I like gravy or plain. No ketchup (although I may get kicked out of Michigan for saying so)
Beef. Gotta be beef.
But the bigger question is: Rutabaga or no rutabaga?

Being a life-long Michigander, this article made me chuckle: 33 Things People from Michigan Have to ExplainSome commentary from me: Item 4-The blue is Blue Moon. Don't ask me what it tastes like; but most kids love it. Item 8 - Weirdness itself. Combine these with traffic circles (suicide circles, as I refer to them) on an icy day and driving becomes very interesting. Item 21- They are delicious. I prefer them with gravy, but some like ketchup better. Oh, and the "a" is prononunced like the "a" in cat. The other pronunciation refers to something a stripper might wear.

What a mean thing to say!
My knee jerk reaction would be to say,"At least this fat ass has a nice bed to sleep in tonight and people who care about me"
But I guess that would be just as mean.

DD and DH are both like that. I (and DS) walk away from them when they're in that mood. They've learned to indulge that trait with each other and leave us alone. We call it "recreational bickering".
